It Amazing for immersion Personally, I would've paid a extra 50$ just to have a metal version of it without any twist non-sence. While the plastic is not bad & the ergonomic is good, it's also not that great. People can say what they want but CH product had & still have the best industrial grade plastic & switches I've ever seen on a entry level stick.

ADD manual control for à la SA-15 would do. Fairly easy integration (I think) SA-2 SA-3 SA-5 SA-6 SA-11 SA-10 Patriot HawK Etc To the ''Tactical commander'' or JTAC (DDCS) Basically a copy of the SA-15 would be fine. This is to counter the DUMB behavior of SAM & to spice things up a bit beside 50-70% Range & Green/Red State flashing. Also For the Future CTLD Entrenched troops position (No need for animation) Number of seat per Helicopter = Number of Foot mobile coming out the back/Side.

Unpopular opinion by the I don't know what I am doing crowd but I agree. It's a really good Jabo too. By far my favorite WW2 plane. The Cockpit layout is a masterpiece for it's time. Takes a lot to unlearn from the 109 Turn & burn tactic & BnZ properly. But then you unload those 4x20mm at convergence range without tracers on What ever merlin Powered Airplane that was or is front of you. It Either vaporized it or it's not making it back to base.

RTX 4080 & 7900 XTX/XT benchmarks DCS
Obic replied to xoxen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am curious too I don't trust the youtuber one second (All they do is advertising) for who ever is pushing more. I own a 3090 FTW3 Ultra. It's probably one of the worst card, I've ever own as far as the layout on the PCB goes. Precision X1 is a Abortion for OC compare to AMD onboard solution. I have yet to turn one DLSS or RT so I could not care less about this non-sense. Nvidia driver are far from that great The price after taxes is what makes the 7900xtx interesting to me in Canada. (15% Taxes) 4090 Assuming you can find a Reference are 2550$ - AIB 2600 to 3300$ (4000$ if you like scalper) 4080 Assuming you can find a Reference are 1950$ - AIB 2100 to 2400$ 7900XtX Assuming you can find a Reference are 1550$ - Most expensive AIB 1950$ -
On Airlink About 3 1/2 hours, I almost got motion Sick from Pavlov testing this for myself. With the link Cable I'm losing 15% per Hour in Average I'm supposed to do a deep strike this weekend, I'll report after . ** open xr downloaded ** 72hz + 1.3x is my baseline for resolution after some back & forth with the reverb G2. I find it hard to go back to the G2 for the first 30minutes because of the lenses.

Got mine Yesterday & tried it I did one back & forth with G2 for fun. I will update this the second, I manage a 3hours flight with my 'Squadron' Installation Easy, It just work, Unlike Windows Mix reality - Open XR The UI is in need of a Refresh for PCVR, but it works. Comfort Personally, I find the Quest Pro way more comfortable to wear for 3 hours. (Headshape dependent) It is very well balanced. **I notice after 4 hours strait, coming out of VR, I don't feel like I'm coming back from a other dimension, Big plus The G2 was a bit more stable in your face. The no blinder to me is a major plus as I like to read chart & stuff with a table & the Peep hole in the G2 was a pain. This comes down to personal preference. The Dock station is actually very good to keep everything in the same spot. Visual With the following Bit rate set at 500mb/s , ***960mb/s seems to to wonder for the 90hz (lower setting) Slider in Oculus set to max @ 90hz, *** I reverted to 2160 vertical pixel, texture were just mediocre in the test cockpit & spotting was harder for nothing. Bought the 100$ Usb-C fiber cable from Meta (In their defence the quality of the cable is stellar) After 3 hours, I don't feel like I was coming for a other dimension when I got out of it - BIG plus Like mentioned in other reviews, It's clear ACROSS THE Lens (The entire thing) - Massive plus IMO - Specially in the F-14 That alone is very likely what's going to sell it for me. The Resolution is a nudge Lower on center vs Reverb G2 (spotting in Air to Air is Miles better) Going back in forth is Hard to go to the G2 because you really notice your eye can't move around at all. FOV is a A nudge wider but Wider never the less Tracking Like every Oculus, Rift , Quest Product it's FLAWLESS. (G2 was ok but had some problem depending on the environment) Performance I updated to 2.8 before trying both so take that with a grain of salt. Reverb G2 ASW / Retro off seems to be a bit better because of Open XR.... That being said the Quest Pro with ASW 45fps is way way smoother & has almost no Artifact. (My GPU is running harder with the Quest Pro Go figure) Price Is it worth 1500 usd. Yes & no Personally, I think it's a cool package, but they are delusional that people with work in this all day or most of the day. The PC 3 screen setup is actually Nice. The passthrough is mediocre but functional. The controller are seriously impressive. (I always liked Oculus controller but this is a step above everything I've seen) It's also not a hassle to plug in, 1 USB-C that's it. unlike the HP Contraption of power brick & cables. No DP Cable that's going to snap or break for no reason every 12 months is nice. They could've done more but I guarantee you the finance department got into it put a stop to a bunch of features before it got out of hand. ***The BAD & The Ugly Battery life could be better or at least hold charge better like the quest 2 did. They really need to find the settings for PCVR inhouse & let everyone know what a 4090,3090,3080 etc can do. No 120hz (To run at 60 with motion reprojection was a Charm on the quest 2) Major update needed to the oculus software, it's functional but dated. The integrated speaker are mediocre but functional. The Sold separately ear buds are ok Bottom line, Addition the Swine flue 2020 & the scared little kitten, Over ballooned Tech market, Uncontrolled spending, Monetary devaluation, Eurozone that pretend they still are a entity that matter to any level. Your BUYING POWER IS <profanity>, you will not see a other headset below 800-900 USD ever. (Get used to it) The next best thing for me was Varjo Aero & 5000$ CAD (Bases + taxes) vs (Quest Pro was 2300$ CAD) I will very likely keep it & sell my Reverb G2 5800x3D + NH-D15 64GB 4x16GB 3200 CL16 Ram 3090 FTW3 Ultra (slight OC) - Waiting for a 4090 FE to exist in Canada 3TB M.2 SSD

I'm getting mine next week I will report back here The kid does make a lot of good points. Currently a G2 owner & I can't say it's been great experience. Quite mediocre actually.

Did you check your memory kit with Mem86 I had a dead stick that was causing a lot of problem with my 64GB kit. (Patriot Viper Steel) Not too impress with it but their customer service was good. I had a similar problem recently Thought it was GPU OC , Windows , CPU , Mobo Bios, memory voltage, storage. re-installed the whole Fking thing, reseated everything. In the end DCS would run fine on the first 32GB Stick & 24GB or Vram, then when it tried to load the dead stick of ram & boom CTD including black screens. Took the stick out did a 5 hours long missions in the heat of battle Hold behold no cras

For me going W/3090 3800x to 5800x was a bit of a let down 5800x to 5800x3D was a A shock To be fair I now have 0 reason to upgrade the cpu until they actually release more 3D v-cache product. Post scriptum 144fps squad 144fps DCS reverb g2, open xr is 70+ fps to 91 fps The thing actually work on <profanity> optimized game with a lot of cpu overhead.

What maneuvers will kill a P-51 engine? Inverted flight = Oil starvation Engine goes kaput. Side slipping = Impeding Airflow trough the radiator/Intercooler = Your Merlin that's running at 29 pound of boost, heat will start to build. You have to remember once a component ''Cook'' it takes a lot of airflow to dissipate the heat. Candle climb = Airflow is inexistent trough the radiator/Intercooler = Your merlin that's running 29 pound of boost with cook it's self within seconds. Hanging the plane off the propeller will Multiply the speed at witch all the above failure will go. The P-51 cooling system exist to operate at speed in excess of 250mph @ 20 000+ Ft. probably at -20c exterior temp That's where it shines, 150mph high Angle of attack turn fight on the deck at +20c with the engine gated for 5 minutes not so much

You Know you need to press the AP button on the stick before you take off right ?... Then it flies half decent otherwise is SAS over doing it's thing It does need some work but it's not that bad with 60 saturation on both axis

Personally, 64GB, patriot viper makes cheap good enough kit without the Rainbow sparkle RGB <profanity>. Keep in mind when the average idiot on Reddit say (example) 16GB is enough , 32GB is enough. Always go x2 of that number.

AMD 5800X3D, the new King for flight simulators?
Obic replied to maxsin72's topic in Virtual Reality
I can officially say that Cache it's really really good I turned my system into a vacuum cleaner with all the fan at max speed to avoid thermal constrain. I played 4 hours this morning on my 5800x to get a feel Mission 2 - From the paradise lost campaign. 45fps to 55fps Enigma Cold War - MI-24 low level at the front line about 40 ppl - 45 to 55 fps nothing more the usual Plugged the 5800x3D It also run cooler buy quite a bit Mission 2 - From the paradise lost campaign. 45fps*Anderson* to 75fps Enigma Cold War - front line was a nudge closer to Sokhumi 60 to 80 fps .... Dip at 59 with a 4 plane dogfight overhead, Half the front line on fire & helo engaging ground target. DDCS is a solid 60 to 80 fps in Syria on the ground in a Mi-24 The load up of the Maps also seems quicker. GPU was also more solicited -
For the Ram comment I don't mind them letting the use all the 64GB & 24GB Vram, but they need to let us know what's going on with the Settings It's very likely the Pre-load radius that's too high.

Same here I actually un-installed Steam VR after running Open XR for 2 days. Ted Would you mind sharing your Setup & Settings ?

AMD 5800X3D, the new King for flight simulators?
Obic replied to maxsin72's topic in Virtual Reality
I have a 5800x & 3090 FTW3 Ultra, 64GB ram @ 3600 Cl18 Reverb G2, Open XR, 100% Resolution (Will include NIS ON/OFF) & MR OFF I'm receiving my 5800x3D early next week, I'll try to report back. (Without the MR off course) I usually play DDCS, that can gets pretty busy during major offensive. The CPU is by far the biggest bottleneck by every metric in MP. That one poor core can only do so much.. I'll put my CPU back to Stock too for the testing since I'm running all core Manual OC 4650mhz @ 1.30v (Rendering) All of that being said, I'm no tutube video streamer or any of that <profanity> so it's going to be a pretty basic review. -
I tought, I was crazy ..... I can't for the life of my make it smooth anymore & I know it was a while back. Like Retroprojection off Around 60 fps stable now it's good if I get 45 Hotplug did help a nudge but nothing crazy & Yes I delete my shader/Fxo every 10 minutes 5800x (5.0ghz) What seems like very inconsistent load. 3090 Oc to 1935 Barely any load either (That one piss me off) 32GB Cl18 soon to be 64GB Cl18 Reverb G2 Steam VR at 100% (3400x3400) I'm not home right now, but I think i'll move all the slider to low & go play Enigma Raising settings 1 by 1.

Just want to say, I can't play as much as I want or Used to but I love the historic based Missions & the work you've done on the server. I tried to find the info but was stuck reading the MW50 Cry babies FYI : If you need the MW50 in the K4 nothing can save you from your bad flying habit. I love to take a A.I out for a spin once in a while. It must have been asked a million times Is there any plans to add the mossies' from England in the near future ? If yes is it going to come with 1 or 3 dummy AI to make it more lively. Do you think we will see a future with a bit more ''ground warfare'' alive or it's too hard on the server & Client side? Thank you Continue the good work
