Yes there is, many, in many places. Search helps! No we don't do that, but this particular update is pretty important, take it from me.

New FIRMWARE - please update. New CONFIGURATOR, defaulting simplified. Good morning pilots, IMPORTANT FIRMWARE UPDATE HERE you can/should/must download the new FW. There are 3 files in the archive. Choose the one you need. suport for GF-MCG support for GF-MCG Pro support for GF-KG12 MCG and MCGPro FWs also support KG12 grip. REMEMBER that "support" does NOT mean anything like "switch the grips, and go on flying in less than 30 seconds". No, it means "switch the grips, re-assign the grips in Configurator, load the profile, then go on flying". HERE you can/should download the new configurator. default button shown (no need to type anything to unhide it) Do not forget to default the system after FW update, and re-calibrate the stick after defaulting the system.

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
AeroGator replied to rrohde's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
We are sending sample grips to DCS (or have sent already, not sure; anyway it's the matter of days) so that their testers try them out. There will be optimized FWs later, and DCS profiles. It doesn't mean you guys can't or should not fly now. It just means that within a few months the potential of the grip will keep revealing itself to users more and more. -
Testing. I would say, just go ahead sending it; by the time you get it back the FW will sure have been released, so you will save a day or two. Testing takes some time, hope you understand. We were shown to a bug we omitted, we don't enjoy being pointed at our omissions.

Been enjoying your "damn crappy grip" ranting! (sorry you understand I couldn't resist) ;)

There are (almost) no dumb ones here; just the ones who are more, and the ones who are less experienced. The grips are indeed quite heavily loaded with functions, and the configuring software utilities allow you to set up the grips in literally a million ways. However this multitude is also a trap, as it is hardly possible to realize all the potential within a few days after first taking the grip out of the box. My personal advice as a [former] virtual pilot, not as a VKB speaker, will be: do it slowly. Get yourself comfy and confident flying with a more or less default setup, and discover the advanced configuring options one by one. It is like Photoshop, or Cinema4D, or AutoCAD - you can't learn the program a to z in 2 hours by reading a manual. It will come in some time. Relax and enjoy. :book:

Removing one grip from the Black Box and sticking another one into it does not mean the Black Box will magically understand the grip has been replaced. Your Black Box is set to work with KG12. When you replace it with MCG, the BB takes it as a malfunctioning KG12, hence red light. To enable the BB to recognize MCG there is a dedicated firmware which you either have not installed, or have installed but have not defaulted the system after FW update. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3349350&postcount=110 Bootloader says device is not ready when either Wizzo or VKBDev are not shut down or when some 3rd party soft like Logitech or Razor or whatever other had grabbed the joystick and established control over it. Make sure all soft of the above kind is temporarily disabled for the time you update the FW. It will not until you default the system.

Thanks Captain

Forget it, it was fun :megalol:

Screenshot, please. I'm trying to help fast. Reading graphic information in text format doesn't help me speed up

Besides that, pls download our VKB_JoyTester at http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Programms/VKB_JoyTester.zip, open the Buttons tab and play with the button in question; take a screenshot and send it to me though PM preferably at http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/

Naturally they don't reply because there is nothing right now to reply to you. You had got an automated reply which means you were already entered into the database, and cannot be lost due to human error or negligence. I cannot update you on these orders as I have no access to VKB Russia database, but I can tell you that the grips have already been produced and are in our storage. We are busy writing firmware for MCG/MCGPro+GladiatorPro combo. As soon as the firmware is ready and tested (which is days not weeks) the product will automatically get moved to "available" status, and all customers will be once again contacted with all that payment and shipment options, etc. So rest assured you are not forgotten :) :joystick:
-
The firmware supporting both sticks will go live tomorrow.
-
There is a faster alternative, which is to send the whole set (base+both grips) to the dealer for testing and fixing. Won't take too long, but simply because of the time wasted in transit it might be longer than your own research. Some prefer these things to be done by others, some like getting their own hands dirty. No prejudice, pls believe me, people are different :) and we will help you either way. So the choice is yours, we will not leave you without help. We will talk to rrohde next morning and warn him, so he will be prepared. Anyway, pls tell me which way you choose for now.

Look, when you flash the system with FW made for KG12 and default it - in the very moment it defaults, the system begins working with and for KG12, not any other grip. As you said, the system recognizes KG12 and shines the green light to you. => Fine, that proves the base is alright. When you flash the system with FW made for MCG (Pro in your case), and default it - the system will (or, is supposed to) work with the MCG, and stop recognizing KG12*. There must be some contact missing, as we tried all grips before packing, and they all worked. Hence, there of course may be surprises, but a "doa" case is extremely unlikely. Let's see where the contact might be lost. First, although it is banal, I would recommend you wipe the contacts (both pins and platforms) with an earbud dipped in gin. Then if it didn't help right away, open the grip, carefully disconnect the cable that is going to the base (red-yellow-black). Also, open the base so that you get access to the same cable there. Mount the grip onto the base twist it a few times, and check the connection with a multimeter. Tell me how it goes. _____ * there will be FW that you will be able to use with both grips (different profiles though) a bit later.

Thanks a ton @rrohde, you're so much on right time with your helping hand.

Yeah. And label translation. You won;t believe but I still remember :) Just something more urgent gets in the way every time we want to do it. But patience will be finally rewarded :) Remind me again end of this week if there is still nothing.... I'm wondering what exactly point you're trying so hard to prove? That during transition period there are some miscommunication problems? - Thanks, I've noticed that already. We'll take care of the big red letters. No shortage of those in China. :pilotfly:
-
You can still go ahead posting our queries at the main forum at http://forum.vkb-sim.pro; we are still in transition and it will take [quite] some time before all shops get as great a ticketing system as the one in North America.
-
Thanks Aaron, done already. It is all still in progress, not yet finalized, and you know sometimes we're puling in different directions. Everything will be fine later :)

Aftersales, support, discussion :) Thought I should post it as a separate entry. We are now trying to sort out, optimize and properly delimitate who does what. To help us keep our efficiency and make support come as fast as possible, we are asking all users: In case of any trouble, first open a ticket at the shop you bought your device. This will ensure you get helped the fastest possible way. Also, it will help us keep the statistics, which is hardly possible to do at the forums. Forums, including the primary forum at VKB site, are also fine, but as a supplement, not substitute. With the help of the forums I hope we can tell more people what to do in case something doesn't work the way it should, and discuss the better ways to fix problems, and share ideas what we should look at to improve the product. However the first place to call is the shop, let's see it as an emergency ward. Whatever the shop fails to help with, they will pass over to us, and we will be there to help. :smartass: Do not take my words as if I discourage you from being active on forums, so don't hesitate to write about problems you have. I'm just trying to channel emergency first aid requests to shops, and discussing the results of this help to forums. We're not trying to hide our flaws in silence, in fact it's [nearly] the opposite: we're trying to educate as many folks as possible how to manage small screwups by themselves. But when the previously unknown bug shows up we prefer it first be dealt with by specialists, not the public.
-
He did not open a ticket at the SHOP, as I clearly wrote. Sorry for pointing it out to you. We want to make shops work do their job, and our tech team - do theirs. Forums are fine, and we do help there, as you know. However it's time to optimize and streamline the after-sales procedures to everyone's benefit. FIRST thing to do is open a ticket. (not even "first"; it needs to be the "zero'th"). After* the ticket is opened, if the user thinks it might be interesting to the community, he is free to start the topic at the forum. We would also appreciate if the user not only tells the community about the problem he has, but also about what solution the tech-support offered him. This way people would learn what to do and how to fix minor problems by their own hands whenever possible. ____ *After - means after, not instead.

Unveiling the VKB TECS Throttle Control System
AeroGator replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
You've been heard :smilewink: -
:music_whistling: In the shop there are trained personnel :geek: knowing how to solve problems, and knowing how to do it fast (and having authority to issue replacement or refund in case things go sour). These guys are also interested in - in the best interest and on behalf of the whole community - building a comprehensive knowledge base on bugs and flaws, and how to deal with bugs and flaws. Why not go to them first? - it still sorta escapes me. A dentist can kill toothache better and faster than a neighborhood community meeting. Moreover, our dentists are free... And at the end where does the answer come from? - right, from VKB support. Same as it would, except now time is wasted.
-
Honestly, I have problems trying to understand people who instead of opening a ticket at the shop opt to sit down to write posts to the forums. VKB North America has a perfect, I'm not afraid to use this word, a perfect support system. Had your reddit friend opened a ticket there prior to shouting from the rooftops? Answer: negative. Reason? Unclear. Regarding the trigger/board: perhaps the guy at the assembling line screwed the spring a bit too deep into its base. Hence, solution One: using tweezers, turn the spring counterclockwise like half a turn or a bit more depending on how much of it remains fixed in the base. Solution Two: stick a tiny patch of masking tape onto the top or bottom or both sides of the board and slide it back into its guides so it stays there as if bolted down.

Maybe, for a reason... (see attached pictures: same manufacturer, same - high - quality, different names, different price). Gimbals are different, too. As well as pretty much everything else.
