Engine RPM jumping to max by itself after coldstart ... bug?
Darcwaynard replied to Frag's topic in DCS: F-5E
This is why the procedure (written in the manual) is to hit the igniters BEFORE you add the gas. Its really not surprising that your thrust would go through the roof after filling the engine with fuel then igniting it. Also really dangerous? The checklists were written with blood. So let's not reinvent the wheel on these things because it's possible the adverse effects are modeled . :-p Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk -
Sacrifice a couple of 120s between 30-40nm to force them defensive before they can get a RNE pheonix shot off? Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Pretty sure its handled on the DDI with a slew cursor to select said grid and whatnot. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Copy that. So I guess we would assume grid zone designations are pre briefed? I only ask because I use the F-18c for jtac missions and have to use a coordinate converter app to get the decimal seconds coordinates until mgrs is implemented. I end up having to reference a zone map online to make sure I'm converting the correct zone. It would be useful if jtac included the zone code, although if it's left out for realism that's all well and good. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Been using jtac for a while now but just wondering... Why for example in the Caucasus map Jtac will omit the first 3 digits/letters ie: 37T or 38T? Is this normal practice or an oversight in the sim? Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Ah gotcha, I spent a lot of time in A10C but didn't get into the LASTE. I'll check it out thanks. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Well my last auto drop of mk83 from hornet at 12000 feet missed by a good 1000 feet due to a tail wind. I'm going to try it again same parameters except use ccip and see how it goes. Either not modelled yet or not a thing I'm guessing. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Yes if HUD is uncaged your VV will compensate for flight path effects from wind. If you are referring to dumb bombs I'm not sure. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Also you could try to jettison some stores and hit the fuel dump switch to lose more weight. If I'm trying to land with a ton of gas I'll usually run the fuel dump till I'm around 4000lbs of fuel. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

How far away are you after the break? Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
-
Of you're too far after break it's not your weight it's how you're turning. Bank/idle/brakes Pull G @ 1% of airspeed Dirty up 250 Level out 180 degrees from break Should end up 0.9-1.1 nm abeam carrier regardless of aircraft weight. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

[CORRECT AS IS] Slew IR Maverick with Waypoint as target
Darcwaynard replied to escaner's topic in Bugs and Problems
On second thought of you left your HSI up on the ampcd you could map pushbutton 14 to your hotas and re designate each time that way instead. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk -
[CORRECT AS IS] Slew IR Maverick with Waypoint as target
Darcwaynard replied to escaner's topic in Bugs and Problems
I wish, maybe later down the road after they've added more features a better method will manifest itself. Here's hoping you'll be able to slave the TGP/ATFLIR pod to a waypoint and have all mavs slave with it like we have in the A-10C. (at some point after it comes out.). Anyone have any idea about this? Once you use wpdsg to slave the mav to the waypoint you need to press the un-designate button. Once you do that you can slew the mav again. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk -
Once you press un-designate check the following. Master arm ON A/G ON Mav SOI Mav uncaged Hold down TDC Slew mav Lock target Rifle rifle rifle If this doesn't work check your key bindings.

Are holding down target designate while you try and slew? Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Does anyone know if there's a lua file for the JHMCS where we may be able to shift its placement? Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

+1 would like to use this on an android device Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

With TrackIR I look over my right shoulder after coming to a stop. I'm able to see the wire being pulled back into place as well as the wire mounts. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Wags stated that the placement of the JHMCS display is accurate and it seems it won't be changed. Just have to get used to it I guess. Its beem griped on before. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Ok I thought so. Thanks for that. Also not to be too picky by why are they even carrying AIM120 to begin with? Mission takes place January 1991 and the 120 didnt enter service til September 1991. Come on guys lets step up the authenticity! ;) Also my daft wingmen wouldn't be blowing each other up with AIM 7's.... Right? Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

I did a few cold starts to test this out. All you have to do his turn the HMD knob up and it comes on. Nothing special. If you have any mods enabled turn them off and if all else fails repair dcs. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

While flying the Strike Fighter instant action mission a friendly AI hornet fired an AB on a Mig-21. The mig was being chased by another hornet. The missle clearly tracks the Mig until about 10k feet away where it presumably notches the missile. The missile then starts tracking the hornet in trail and destroys it. I guess after she goes pitbull and loses its primary target it will track anything? Also curious if once iff is finished this will be a non issue. Not sure if this is normal behaviour for the 120B or not. Apologies if this has been covered already. No track available but I can upload the tacview once I'm at my desk.
