  1. Thanks very much! I understand a bit better now... I had no idea there was a cumulative and permanent damage to the engine performance. Certainly explains why guys in Youtube videos from a few years ago were doing things performance-wise I couldn't explain!
  2. Just as an aside, do you know whether the map will go on sale on Steam today? Hasn't gone up there yet.

I think I may have been overweight... for a start I hadn't realised I'd given myself a rather unnecessary full tank of fuel :music_whistling: Just for future reference, is there a rough time you can normally spend in the red zone for engine exhaust temps before a possible fire? Or is it just on a wing and a prayer?

  5. I'm doing a mission in the UN Pilot campaign where the briefing gives advice for take-off to switch the governor to manual and increase the turbine RPM, would that also help? I'm guessing you shouldn't leave the governor in manual for too long, though!
  6. So I'm just getting used to flying the Huey and trying my best to start with cargo... but not going well so far to say the least. I'm practicing with a 1,300lb cargo, which seems reasonable. My problem is that I'm finding it very difficult to generate lift after hooking without either a low RPM warning or causing an engine fire. It seems impossible to raise the collective enough without going into the exhaust temperature red zone for too long. Then pretty much the same problem when coming in to unhook, constant engine fires as I just can't maintain a hover without overdoing the exhaust temperatures... Does anyone have advice on avoiding engines fires/generating lift more efficiently with cargo??
  7. Never mind that! For anyone else who has this problem.. just turn the knob to on then scroll through the frequencies. Odd as he never says to change the frequency....
  8. Have tried repeatedly now but each time I get to 'turn on the VHF NAV-COMM radio' it hangs there. I've tried holding the click for a few seconds to see if that registers or pressing space bar but nothing happening. Guess I'll just have to watch Youtube videos to learn! Which is kinda sad...
  9. I have some rather noob-ish questions regarding the mav's myself... Having a hard time coming from the A10C to this and not really finding it as intuitive. So, for example... what is, essentially, the difference between the DMT and the T-pod? Which is better/are they for different circumstances? Can the TGP be used/salved with Mav's as in the A10 or is it only for imaging purposes and not linked to any weapons? Also.. after launching a Mav and egressing from the area to come around for another pass, the DMT I assume goes outside its gimbal limits and resets to a black screen with INS on it. Then none of the sensor select functions do anything and the whole thing needs to be reset so I can access the DMT again. Is there a way to stop that happening, or at least when it does happen be able to immediately slew back to my previous target? Sorry for the basic questions..
  10. The manual assumes everyone has a dual-stage trigger like the Warthog, so I wouldn't pay much attention to the exact wording when you have different equipment. There are 2 assignments - 'Gun trigger' - being PAC-2 when PAC is enabled; and 'Gun trigger (first stage)' being PAC-1. There isn't a 'Fire Gun' binding though. But yeah... I have no idea what's happening to be honest. Problems are always possible with stick bindings, but it shouldn't happen with the keyboard commands.
  11. It's particularly odd that it also happens with the keyboard commands.. technically you shouldn't even need PAC-1, it would stabilize and fire PAC-2 just with the Space key. I found this https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=74116 (even if it is a bit old now) so was thinking it may have something to do with the CH stick. You'd need to get another CH user to confirm that, though. But we'd really need to see a video track... you might think it's going to show us nothing, but you never know. Is this coming from a cold start?
  12. Have you tried with the keyboard commands (P/Space) to see if they work? Probably an obvious point, but the PAC-1 key is being held down and not just pressed once? (assuming the CH Fighterstick isn't a dual-stage trigger, no idea myself)

Hey guys, just played the re-playing the campaign for the first time on 2.5 and noticing that your wingmen, as soon as you (or at least I) request taxi permission suddenly take off to the runway ahead of me. Not a problem if you react quickly and get in front, but if they then get in front they tend to just sit at the runway. Forever.
  14. I know 1.5.8 isn't receiving updates... but surely they should at least finish off the plane they started in 1.5?? Either that or state clearly on the store page for the module that it doesn't support 1.5 in any way. That really isn't very clear...
  15. So I finally picked up the Harrier in the recent sale, but have come across the problem that AFC or Alt Hold just don't seem to work for me. Neither the keybinding, on my Hotas or clicking the switches. Nothing happens. The AFC doesn't even reset if I use the stick again. Can anyone confirm that this is specific to 1.5.8, as I know it has been implemented at least in 2.5 and I can't seem to find anyone else with problems. (Currently unable to run 2.5 as my rather lacklustre PC thoroughly disagrees with it)
  16. Same problem as above.. SF teams enter building, both helos simply shut down and the missions stops. Is there a fix coming for this or should we just roll back to the last version or something?
