  1. I agree. When flying with a pilot from the US in the logbook I got those messages in missions I created using US equipment. Now I'm flying with a Russian pilot in the logbook and have not gotten any fratricide messages.
  2. Just for fun, turn on unlimited weapons and load up on bombs. You can carpet bomb the heck out of anything. :D
  3. Hardware definitely is not a problem. I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 and a Radeon 4870 1GB. Have you set the second monitor up in Vista or ATI CCC? If not, you need to do that first. I'm not at my home computernow and probably won't be able to help anymore until tomorrow afternoon USA eastern time.
  4. I have a quad core AMD Phenom 9950 and It is only set to 1 core on my Vista Ultimate x64 system also.
  5. I found I couldn't get Set Affinity II to work at all. But, Prifinity work all the time for me. Thanks for writing the script. It's what I'm using now and works every time also.
  6. Put process.exe in your C:\Program Files (x86)\1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50 folder along with the cmd files. Then you can create a shortcut to the cmd files on your desktop. The only difference is you don't have another program running in the background I guess.
  7. Or, as long as the proper equipment is there, shut down completely and yell out the open door (use the Comms menu).
  8. You could, but, you really wouldn't want to. You need to maintain the aspect ratio of the Shkval. You could make it a little bigger but, making it really tall would distort the picture too much.
  9. No problems here on Vista Ultimate x64. In fact BS runs better on Vista then XP.
  10. I have it installed on Vista Ultimate x64 already and today I installed it on my dual boot Win XP x32 to test some things out. And, yes I ate up another activation. I believe If you decide not to keep it on Win XP you can deactivate it and get 1 activation back. Reason I don't think I'm going to keep it on Win XP is too many micro stutters. Plus I can get more FPS in Vista x64
  11. How about posting your system specs, OS especially, and what your monitor resolutions are in the multi monitor thread and I'm sure you'll get it working.
  12. I decided to try it in WinXP x32 also. Got it working and now can see the FPS counter in the upper left. But there are certainly tradeoffs in this setup also. And, of course the multi core affinity procedure does not work in WinXP x32, although I am getting 40 FPS in Instant Action. I did see some micro stutters also. I will spend some more time in WIn XP to see if they persist. I realize every thread can't, but, too bad this couldn't become a sticky. With all the new threads I found it on the 3rd page.
  13. I'm sorry, I guess I read it wrong also. I thought you found the solution as well. I hope you get it all worked out.
  14. I haven't had any real negative impacts as far as FPS goes. It may be a little slower but nothing I noticed. But, then I do have a pretty heavy system. What are the rest of your system specs.
  15. I'm running the campaign on Vista x64 and not having any problems. Perhaps the more I get into it I may encounter problems, but not so far. Perhaps the warning should read "MAY not be compatible" instead of "IS not compatible"
  16. Next to the joystick, the TrackIR is the best investment I ever made for my PC gaming. You won't be dissappointed.
  17. Well I solved my problem by installing Prifinity instead of Set Affinity II. After installing Prifinity. I loaded BS. When in the cockpit I Alt-Tabbed back to the desktop went into task manager and Voila! My affinity was set to all cores as I wanted. Now I'll go back and just set cores 0,1. Tested again with cores 0,1. I'm happy to report it now works.
  18. Yes, I have that set. I have DCS.exe set up as a favorite. I have it minimized to the task bar with "auto set favorites" ticked. I even tried un-ticking it and clicking "set favorites now" I don't do this until I see the box with the pilot with the red star on his helmet appear. After the sim loads I Alt-TAb out and go into task manager right click DCS.exe and click "set affinity" and it is only set to core 0. I don't get it.
  19. Yeah, I did that. I had DCS.exe set as a favorite. When I right-clicked the icon in the traskbar it showed auto-set, but when I Alt-Tabbed out of the sim and checked task manager the affinity was still set to core 0 only. Does it have to be set to all 4 cores? I only set it to use core 0 and core 1. Perhaps I'll give it another try when I get home tonight and double check my settings.
  20. May I offer a tip also? If you are using a HOTAS, map the Lock target key (Enter) on one controller and the Shkval cursor keys to the other. I had them both on the same controller and found it difficult to hold the stick, hold one button and push another at the same time.
  21. I have Set Affinity II and It doesn't auto set DCS.exe either. I have it set as a favorite but still have to Alt-Tab out and set it manually.
  22. Anyone remember "Back to Baghdad". Very pricey at $69.00 back in 1996 I believe. And, light years away from what this sim is. $49.99 is a bargain.
  23. I've been running the Russian download version on Vista Ultimate x64 and it runs great. The Campaign in the English version comes with a warning reccommending it be run in Win XP. Apparently due to the size of some of the missions some testers had trouble running it in Vista. I'm downloading the English version now and will find out for myself.
  24. No one forced you to buy the Russian version and no one is forcing the English version down your throat either. Enjoy the russian version until you can afford to buy the other. Look at it as demo you paid for.
  25. I have been enjoying the Russian download version and have just purchased and started downloading the English version. Thanks to all involved.
