  1. So I popped a thread in the Thrustmaster section with regards to DCS not recognising my throttle section. However I believe now that the issue is not localised to any specific hardware and DCS is doing something really odd. Last night I was able to use my HOTAS Warthog and Pro Flight rudder pedals just fine. Load up the sim today to find that my joystick isn't functioning, test the axis in controls and it's completely dead (T.A.R.G.E.T recognises both devices fine). So I reboot, full HOTAS control restored. Do an instant action mission in the Viggen and land (rocket strafe mission) and realise my rudder isn't working at all. Axis is dead in controls. I alt tab to desktop and load up the control panel for the saitek pedals and find it non-responsive, neither the rudder or toe break axis are responding. I quit DCS and the very moment I do that the rudders come back to life. This is so confusing, it's not restricted to one piece of hardware and seems to disable them in game at random. Anyone ever come across this issue before? It's really tiring having to troubleshoot and restart DCS/reboot to get things working just to fly.
  2. Patched DCS tonight, only to find my throttle isn't working right at all. It's recognised by Windows 10 under devices (separate entries for Warthog throttle and stick). Stick works fine, however the throttle isn't recognised at all evident by being unable to map anything to it and the throttle axis is completely unresponsive in game (tested by going to tune axis). LED's all work and Target GUI app recognises it - I'm thoroughly confused tbh. HELP
  3. Switching to Z370/Coffee Lake CPU puts the price up by like £350 nearly on the configurator... Is it really worth the extra?
  4. So my current rig is coming on almost six years old now, haven't been flying in DCS for some time now because it frankly can't keep up on MP with any sort of respectable FPS so I'm saving up for a new build - time frame is about a year to save up all the appropriate funds unless I get a nice windfall from the tax man in April (very unlikely!) So, if you gents were to build a new rig (specifically with DCS in mind) what would you get to max it out in ultra? Currently I only play in 1080, with no plans to move to VR/multi-monitor set up. The most I would move to is 2k most likely. Also prefer Intel/Nvidia (current monitor has Gsync). Was also thinking of sticking with a 1080ti since it would seem the 2XXX series doesn't really give you that much extra bang for the vastly increased price? Was just fiddling around earlier and got an estimated price of aprox £2050 for the following? ASUS Z270-K (1151) Intel Core i7 7770k 4.2ghz 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DD4 (2400mhz) MSI GTX1080ti 500Gb Samsung SSD 2Tb Barracuda HDD Is the 32Gb OTT? Or would I be better going for 16Gb but higher mhz? Haven't built a PC in absolutely years (my current one was a custom config I put together on Overclockers.co.uk and they built it for me). The above setup is for another custom system they can do (lost my confidence in building my own tbh - scared of frying something). Would welcome feedback from you DCS vets who know how 2.5 behaves etc. Cheers
  5. Yeah I'm surprised tbh since the issue surrounding cluster munitions and the damage model is something that's been going on for years now. I thought that with all the improvements of late it would have been worked on internally. Here's hoping that it's fixed soon, the BK90 is such a cool piece of kit it would be a shame for it not to work as it should. Especially since the devs have put so much work into it, watching them dispense like that is awesome.
  6. Would be good to see some improvements on this. It's by far the coolest weapon in the Viggens arsenal yet it's lethality seems questionable atm. Granted I'm still learning the module, but I'm getting bomblets land literally a foot away from BTR's with no damage. The FPS drops are horrific too, from about 60 down to 8 fps with two pods worth of munitions exploding.
  7. Wow this level of detail is beyond what I could have hoped for. You guys really know how to hit it out of the park :). Going to be quite fun just learning to fly with the terrain avoidance in low visibility.
  8. I'm coming back to DCS after quite a long hiatus so this guide is absolutely invaluable for me! Thanks for putting all the time into putting it together :).
  9. LOL awesome, not as good as the air to air GBU-12's I saw on youtube with the A-10C lasing. That was just insane.
  10. Is it possible to use the white lever on right to the APU start on the Warthog as an axis for ant elev? I use it in Elite Dangerous for vertical thrust and it's quite handy with a noticeable detent in the middle. I agree though, it makes me miss the rotary dial from my old Cougar!
  11. There is a small flight manual inside your DCS directory, Mods/Aircraft/M2000C/Docs IIRC. There is a lot of stuff in the module which isn't either enabled or working at the moment. Keep an eye on the update thread though since RAZBAM have a very frequent update schedule so new things are being added all the time. If you want to get a feel for the Mirage go on Youtube and look at the various DCS youtubers most have tutorial vids for the M2000C which helped me no end!
  12. Looking forward to the next update :D, must get 2.0 installed too so I can enjoy the updates as they appear so I'm ready to use in 1.5.3.
  13. I think however once more complex INS and IFF avionics are patched in the M2000-C will become more complex than the FC3 aircraft. Which, correct me if I'm wrong, don't have anything like that. Unless it's changed since I was last using the FC3 aircraft for Russians especially you can tell immediately what's friendly or not because of the - or = contacts on your screen. FC3 aircraft may not have clickable cockpits, but let's be fair in the middle of a furball we aren't going to start faffing about with a mouse to click switches we'll use keybinds like you would for the FC3 lot. Eventually, with more and more complex avionics being implemented for full DCS level modules the FC3 aircraft will get left behind with non-interactive cockpits and more "basic" avionics compared to those found on the fully modelled aircraft. This isn't a dig at players who use the FC era aircraft, since I'd get my ass handed to me in a second if I hopped into a Su-27 or F-15C but it doesn't change the realities of the way DCS is progressing. As for missiles though, I don't expect 100% accuracy but the behaviour exhibited by missiles currently is a joke. It's something that should have been addressed a few years back but sadly we are left in a position where we have aircraft modelled down to the minutia in terms of system modelling but arcade missiles which can't hit the side of a barn door.
  14. Mods adjusting warhead strength etc though, as with missile mods aren't they blocked/banned in MP? I like to fly a lot in MP so that would pretty much kill that idea off for me.
  15. Quite true, I had a Mk-82SE explode less than 10m away from a tank and it didn't kill it. In RL you'd expect the blast shock wave to seriously damage the vehicle. Really wish air burst bombs worked too, would be great for anti-personnel type weapons or against soft targets.
  16. This is what I tend to do. I quite like using the Mk-82SE's and just rippled the whole payload at once using the RA mode in a fast low pass over the target. Looks great :).
  17. Why would you use GBU-12's dumb like that? Just pack some Mk82's or a the temporary Mk-20's. I know it's possible, but seems unecessary :).
  18. That's a shame Mustang, since they're the best ground textures I've seen personally. Surely if the original modders were credited for their work it shouldn't be an issue if that's what's holding you back from releasing them?
  19. Hey folks, another quick question. I've mapped the TDC slew X and Y axis to the micro-stick on my Warthog throttle. It's functioning with the A-10C but it's not working on the M2000-C. I've made doubly sure that it's assigned right, and it is. Just doesn't respond to inputs when in game. Adjusting the TDC slew with the pre-assigned keyboard bindings works fine (; , . /). I'm wondering what the issue could be. If it's needed I can bind it to another area on my HOTAS but it wouldn't be as ideal. Thanks in advance. LW EDIT: Apologies, should have done a better job of looking beforehand. Looks like this is a known issue. Mods feel free to nuke this thread :).
  20. Ah fair enough, having trouble finding much in the way of documentation so I'm really just learning via Youtube videos and trial and error at the moment :). Having an issue with the TDC slew axis currently though, I've bound it in the axis controls page to the micro-stick on my HOTAS Warthog on the throttle. It doesn't seem to work in sim, having to make do with the keyboard commands for the moment. Would really like to keep it on the micro-stick too since my other 4 pov HAT switches are used for other options.
  21. The switch under the red guard just below the gear indicator lights, I thought that disabled the fly by wire? Makes the aircraft awful twitchy ;).
  22. Wow, fly-by-wire certainly feels different. It's like it's on rails, but it's definitely not. You can tell there's stuff going on coordinating your turns and trim etc. Very strange coming from the MiG-21bis that's for sure. Oh, by the way.. don't turn off the flight computer. Stuff happens... :D Awesome model, looks utterly stunning with the new graphics engine! By the way, if anyone wants to fly tomorrow and show me the ropes for this bird throw me a PM I'll be on all afternoon (GMT) and we can fly.
  23. I'd like to draw everyone's attention to the awesome and generous community member above, who has just sent me a key for the M-2000C. Rep him like there's no tomorrow :).:pilotfly::joystick:
  24. Oh that's really good I'll be honest I didn't expect RAZBAM's update schedule to be so tight, kudos to them! Thanks for posting, will be counting the pennies to get the Mirage soon hopefully :).
  25. Afternoon folks! Just a quick question really. Given that many of you are playing the DCS 2.0 alpha, is there much of a difference between the current 1.5 release and 2.0? When I say this, are there what you would consider "must have" updates that would make flying this bird on the release version an inferior experience? I have to admit I've become rather taken by the M-2000C and trying to restrain myself from buying it before I get my next pay slip lol. I live in the middle of nowhere with a poor excuse for an internet connection so downloading another client would take quite some time, would be nice to be prepared so I can enjoy this aircraft to it's fullest.
