Lol good luck getting the Mi-8 away from the blast radius :p
-
Can't believe we can use Nukes. Christ that's going to be insane. In your face A-10 drivers... we have a bigger bomb than you!
-
Excuse me while I pick my jaw off of the floor! Did you say we can do JATO too?! This is going to be the release to end all others I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!
-
Looks great but now I'm even more convinced my PC would die if I even tried to play this with my spec. Only running 4gb RAM and a GTX460 with an i3... can't afford a new rig either :(.
-
Please Cobra that would be simply fantastic if you added a pilot body and some basic animations. Would really add to the immersion factor, and show ED a few things in the process too! Keep up the hard work devs!

Looking forward to when the 159th can deploy the MiG alongside our Su-25A's. Will be awesome and a much needed change from the wide ranging capabilities of the A-10, Su-25T, Su-33 etc. Time to get up close and personal with the enemy in some good old fashioned dogfights! I have to agree with what some have said about the A-10C. It's a pretty amazing aircraft and great to work with all the systems - but feels quite bland compared to a lot of the other aircraft. It's got so much standoff potential there is usually absolutely no need to get down low and use the main gun. Leaves it feeling a little stale next to the Su-25's that I've flown since the earliest days of LOMAC/FC. All we need now is an F-4 or something else from the era to have some appropriate opposition in the air :)

Was just wondering if there are any plans for ED or modders to add new ships designs like the British Type 45's or the new QE class carrier (even the illustrious class would be good for helo ops). Considering we have so many different jets from different NATO and former Warsaw Pact nations only having Russian and US ships is a bit dull :(.

Any chance for a proper manual anytime soon?
JG-1_Vogel replied to Metal Hawk's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I can understand the devs wanting to get their modules out the door. However I bought the UH-1 and Mi-8 modules thinking they would use the feedback from players to improve the products quickly yet they're still in beta even now. I'm eager to get hold of the mig-21 but I'd rather they keep hold of it until it's ready to be release instead of in a perpetual beta. -
Come now guys, we've waited this long I think we can hold fast until the day finally comes. The team have had more than their fair share of problems along the way and I have faith they'll get it ready soon. I can understand the want to keep the MiG internally until EDGE is released as no doubt there will be many issues that will need ironing out. All of the other 3rd party releases so far have also been beta releases whereas as far as I know LN are aiming for a full working product and not have to put us through the beta stage like belsimtek etc.

Right now I can't help but feel like a fly mesmerised by those blue glow lamps. "Stop throwing your money at the screen! It won't work!" "I can't help it... it's so beautiful!". Amazing stuff guys, I really really really really REALLY can't wait to get my hands on this. The attention to detail is just amazing. Can't wait to toast the first fast jet to grace DCS's skies!

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?
JG-1_Vogel replied to Chizh's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Got a GTX460 at the moment, starting to really struggle with DCS of late especially since I've only got 4Gb of RAM :(. Been looking at new systems but I can only dream of getting one at the moment. -
Would rather fly the MiG in it's polished glory and wait a little longer than have a buggy release guys. Stick at it, we'll all be here with waiting to throw our money at you! :joystick:

Just looked at the variants on Wikipedia, given that Leatherneck would want to bring over as much in the way of existing assets from the MiG-21 you reckon they might look at doing the 23M? The MLD would be cool but unsure if they could do it.
-
I would love you guys at Leatherneck forever if you did the Flogger. It's a sweet looking aircraft and I've always wanted to fly a variable geometry wing aircraft. The Flogger was also one of the first air fix models I made as a lad :). Just wondering, what was the western equal to the Flogger back then? F-4 perhaps?

System Requirements - Post NTTR/EDGE? Hi all, just a quick question. I skimmed through the EDGE/NTTR sticky just above but saw no mention of target performance and consequential system req's for the new engine. My PC is started to show a few grey hairs and I'm just a little concerned that come the update with DCS 1.2.8 I think some people have mentioned I won't be able to fly with squad mates. Has there been any word anywhere as to what ED is aiming at in regards to performance? Just so I can start planning ahead and maybe look at some upgrades. I realise it's still a WIP, but even then they must have an idea of what they're aiming for :). Cheers, LW

I thought the best dig at this deal was a comment I saw on another site. "Imagine you're playing Skyrim, entering a dark and spooky cave when suddenly "Joe bloggs has invited you to play Candy Crush Saga!". Bah, I wouldn't trust Facebook as far as I could throw them. The thing is Facebook is governed by it's shareholders who usually care for nothing other than profit. I think that the original focus on gaming will eventually fall by the wayside as these said shareholders get their dirty kits on things to maximise their returns.

Thanks! Well what a steal, the Huey and CA for under £25! Bargain!
-
Guys I picked up the Huey, but would like to activate it on my main DCSW install instead of going through Steam. Where do I find the code to transfer across?

Which is easier to learn A10C or Blackshark?
JG-1_Vogel replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Personally I found the A-10C a little harder to learn than the Kamov purely because it's so intimidating the first time you sit in the cockpit. The Ka-50 pit is pretty straight forward, you've got the essentials and that's pretty much it. The hardest part of learning the Kamov for me in the ABRIS and using the Datalink to mark targets and share between wingmen. The A-10C however takes a while getting used to. Read the manual, I can not stress this enough. I downloaded it to my iPad and tried to go over a few things in the evening when I had a spare few minutes. I prefer to fly the A-10 now over the Ka-50. It's a slow bucket of bolts but it's fun using all the precision weapons. Watching Paveways smack into a target on the ground is very satisfying and takes me back to when I watched footage of Desert Storm on the telly. It will take time but stick with it and it will be very rewarding. -
Is there a datalink system where I can share custom waypoints/mark points to other A-10's on my team so they can see the same targets etc?
-
What is the CDU's main use in this Sim?
JG-1_Vogel replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Inputting your own waypoints is a very useful tool, especially if you have a specific static target you want to blow i.e. a bridge or building you can jot down the coordinates and be able to deliver IAM munitions even through cloud cover without risking your skin by flying low into the sights of AAA and MANPADS. If you type in "DCS warthog CDU tutorial" into Youtube there is a really good 30min or so video with a RL A-10 crew chief talking through how to add custom waypoints etc which has helped me a lot. It's one of those things which is really time consuming and a pain to learn but once you've nailed it you will probably wonder how you managed without it. -
Hey guys, was goofing around with the Mi-8 on the target range quick start mission and was running into a few performance issues. Now my rig isn't exactly awesome, I run with mainly low/medium settings but FPS is usually quite stable at around 30-40 fps depending on the situation. After a few strafing runs the block of around ten or so vehicles were on fire and when in view my FPS dropped to what felt like single figures making it incredibly hard to maintain control of the helo. I know ED has tinkered with the effects to try and make them more fps friendly (flares spring to mind), but are there any user made mods which could help me? Otherwise I'm going to struggle when I take the Hip into combat. Many thanks!

I was watching some Youtube vids this morning while downloading 1.2.7 and saw that infantry can fire out of windows/port holes, possibly out of the rear hatch prone with an MG or something. Is there a chance we could have anything like this come to DCS? I don't own the Huey, but the door gunners look pretty ace letting rip while you circle above.
-
Guys a lot of the issues you are talking about are more than likely fixed, ED have already stated that many issues are done but the current patch was feature locked before they were fixed, thus they will have to come in a future update :).

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
JG-1_Vogel replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Firstly, thanks for this awesome mod. It makes things much easier when you can understand at a glance what things do :). Now 1.2.7 is out, will the version labelled for the beta still work with the final release? Will have to replace the older mod after updating is finished.
