  1. I was referring to avionics. No disrespect was intended. Flight models are complex, but compared to an A-10C the P-51 and all of it's systems must be an easier task to reproduce at DCS level. Yes?
  2. Not complaining, day dreaming. P-51's against modern aircraft isn't practical. That means DCS will have to do a lot of AI WWII aircraft or more DCS WWII aircraft. :-)
  3. Sigh...I wish Nevada was a prioritory over this before starting something new. Having said that, I am a WWII/ WWII aircraft nut. The thought of a DCS level P-51 just made something happen in my pants. I just wish a P-38 was in the works along with a B-17, which brings me to the point...what will the P-51 fly against? DCS has to go all out WWII. Correct? I admit I was too excited to read the previous 10 pages of posts, but WWII tech aircraft tech should be a cake walk compared to the Ka-50 and A-10. I hope they can crank out DCS level WWII aircraft left and right. Please, for the love of God, a DCS level B-17G and/or a P-38J/L would make me shell out more of my hard earned cash to DCS. I can't wait! Bravo on the P-51!
  4. DCS is, as DCS does. That's all I have to say about that.
  5. @ 159th Viper: Thanks. Fact is, everybody needs a refresher at some point, especially me. More training can never be a bad thing. :)

  7. -I think people just reaaally want Nevada. (For a-10C) A prettier cockpit is nice and all, perhaps if they would have upgraded the training missions to the current WH standard or made the KA-52 flyable (get it? Black Shark-2), I think there would have been no gripes.
  8. Yes. Tracks. You are correct, just had my coffee. i.e. Does the training work now/again, or is the same ole' "If you want to view this section uninstall our patches" message still present?
  9. Question, are the training videos still broken in BS2 or will they work now?
  10. I was dreaming of a DCS level B-17G and decided to reinstall The Mighty Eighth yet again. I found an old post from myself so I could remember how to fix the sound problem on Windows 7 and figured I'd share for those who might like to hop into the turrets again and throw some lead downrange with their mechanical and gun sound effects working. Gun/Mechanical Sound fix works on Windows 7 by digitaljjd » Wed Nov 17, 2010 7:38 am Original fix by wombat778 from » Sat Mar 15, 2003 1:36 am I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Installed. Install B-17, do not install the a3d drivers...or the old direct X for that matter. Apply the 2.0 patch. Then explore the B-17 CD and use 7-Zip...(like winrar but 100 times better, it's a quality free program everyone should have) http://www.7-zip.org/...to extract the a3ddrivers310.exe files (rather than run it) into the B17 main directory.(Computer, local disk, Program Files (x86), Microprose, B17) Then, go to the run command line and type regedit. Once in regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microprose\B17\General and right click on UseA3d, select modify, change the 0 to 1 and click ok. Then exit and use the my computer to navigate to local disk, Program Files (x86), Microprose, B17. Then locate and start(double click) the game using the Game.exe file (Just says Game with a B-17 icon) rather than B-17setup.exe, -(there are two and there are three B-17 icons, make sure it's the correct one) Then play the game normally, your gun sounds will be back along with the mechanical turret sounds. It's a good idea while you are in that B-17 folder to right click the B-17 Game.exe icon (or list, I have icons turned on) and send to desktop (create shortcut) Rename your new shortcut to say B-17 Sound Fix or whatever so you don't click the wrong one. (you should have two on your desktop now) If you run B17setup.exe (start game normally) at any point after this the above registry UseA3d entry will go back to 0 and you will have to redo the fix. So if you make a change to the resoulution etc. just redo it and your all set. No problems for me so far. Much Thanks to wombat778!!! I can finally play this game without stutter and now with sound!
  11. Perhaps not, but it was worth a try.
  12. Here's the real proof: F-16 all the way! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=76003
  13. Now I know my ABC's.
  14. (chuckle) -That's just wrong of him.
  15. It depends on your point of view. I didn't say anything about the new terrain engine. I'm sure there is some legal loop-hole that ED could get away with and not provide Nevada to the pre-purchasers like myself, however that's not what ED and TFC are all about. The new (EDGE) is I'm sure part of the future modules and is naturally a step in the right direction for the future of ED. They may not have had to include it now, but they would most likely have had to do so at some point in the future anyway, in order to make it compatible with future modules. So yes, it is a bonus but it's not like they would go to all this trouble to produce a non-future friendly map. It was in their best interest to do so. That said, I can't wait! They are the only real "game" out there in the sim market now. I just hope they do continue to do well enough to be able to provide us with future modules. Go ED! Can I buy some stock?
  16. The point is, it's not free, you've already paid for it, and you still don't have it yet. Why would you be willing to pay for it again?
  17. Make sure the same functions are not double mapped in another column. i.e. rudder pedals, mouse, or Trackir,or just plain double mapped in the same column. Also, take note of what button it is mapping, sometimes there are buttons or rotaries that like to keep poppining up instead of what you think you are pressing.
  18. This brings a point to mind. Who's decision is it? How do they make decisions? Is there one guy over the whole thing, or is it some committee type deal? I'm just curious how the company is structured. After checking the site here 10 times a day, day after day after day, I for one won't know what to do with myself after they do finally announce the next module.
  19. This would be very unlikely to happen, the pilots would never exceed their G-limits, because if they did, they could face summary execution by the all knowing Frostiken, at the very least, he would call them stupid and use Agonizers on the entire squadron as punishment. :smilewink:
  20. So it's in testing then? I'm sure it will be more then people think it will be, ED is going to go all out, they want people to purchase their add-on, therefore it will be worth it. I'm just curious how they plan to make it available to pre-purchasers like myself. I'm guessing it will have to be serialized and activated just like any other module.
  21. Nice WIP! Hummm...aren't the F-16 and F-15E both able to carry these as well? :smilewink:
  22. It's better to wallow in fluid then nose plant into the runway and cartwheel onto the Spangdahlem golf course. (F-15C)
  23. I gotta' ask y2kiah, any update?
  24. What is the point? A Wags avatar riddle? What does a French tank, a US Destroyer and a F-86 Sabre have in common?
  25. I thought DX11 support for A-10C was totally dropped because of time constraints. It's a safe bet they will use it on the next module, or what's current/best for them at the time. Of course I could be wrong.
