I’ve got a 4k monitor that I run at 1080 unfortunately it’s not a free sync or gsync. I use similar settings to yourself but at 1080 I can’t even use 1.5 SSAA. so it seems to be able to use SSAA I would need a much better card than a 2080 or a 6800

Sorry should have said I’m playing in 1080. specs are Ryzen 5950x gaming carbon b550 64 gb DDR4 @ 3200 my aim is to stop shimmering and aliasing with either SSAA or by increasing the resolution Interesting that it performs the same as a 1080ti at lower resolution

I’ve got a RTX 3060 at the moment, I’m thinking to upgrade or sidegrade. I can get a deal on a rx6800 does anyone have any experience of this card in the game? other option is get a second hand 2080ti or 2080 super would I be taking a step backwards from the 3060 if I did this. Any advice would be appreciated

I’m getting quite a bit of stutter near the hangers at this airfield while flying the harrier. It doesn’t seem to change even with a drastic reduction in settings. Have people had problems in this area before ? Is it a bug or should I be checking something in my system.

Try turning off the icue software first the fans will still spin up when the coolant gets to 40 deg c anyway. To control the fans independently You connect the fans to the sys fan connection on the motherboard and adjust the speed of the fans and pump in bios. I would check you have up to date bios while you are there. Leave the RGB connected as it stays on the setting that was there when you delete the software. When the disconnect happens do you see the lights on the board flicker ? The icue software is a massive resource hog hope this sorts out your disconnect problem and isn’t just muddying the water. I can’t really post from another forum here but if you Google Corsair icue disconnects

This is a symptom of a bug with the software that comes with that cooler, it was amd though but the symptoms were the same. Unplugging usb devices randomly. There’s pages of posts on Corsairs forums about it

Is this the icue version? I recently upgraded my motherboard,cpu and cooler. I got the 115 capellix, the icue software was absolutely hammering my cpu. I turned it off and my idle temp dropped 10degrees. If you can do all your fan and pump profile from bios and delete that software

How do you do this? I’ve got cores and ram coming out of my ears

I’ve noticed a few training missions seem to force civilian vehicles, even if you have them set off in settings. I could be wrong though

Hw info says I am at 71 hot spot but afterburner says I’m at 62 pegged out at 99%. I’m not so worried about the temp, it’s the performance limit reliability voltage I’m worried about. I can post a picture of hw info when I’m back playing later

Hi I’m wondering if this may help me. I’ve got a 3060 but it’s the palit version with the single fan. I’m currently using the palit software to overclock. I’’m getting good performance with max temp (hotspot) pegged at 70degc and running between 90 and 100% It seems according to HWinfo I’m getting performance limit reliability voltage and thermal sometimes even though I’m not that high in temp. it’s making me paranoid, is there a way to help this by undervolting ? I’’m especially worried I am getting thermal throttling sometimes.

There should be some posts knocking about regarding Nvidia NIS that will really help you. There’s a toggle in nvidia control panel, set your display/system at 4k or 1440 and set dcs settings at 1080 resolution. It gains a lot of frames for me but the jury is still out. Your GPU is actually good, I had one recently before I upgraded. If you have a search for symbolic link it will help with the VRAM. The VRAM is faster in that version of the card as well. For graphics tuning turn vsync off get the best looks/performance compromise and then turn it on to stop tearing/stutters. Before you do any of that find some of the many tutorials on YouTube for sorting out your windows install for gaming.

I don’t know what line conditioners and UPS are. It was just a mad theory I had about shimmer and stutter. I’m wondering apart from the option of 60 and 120 are there any other frequencies we could use, I know in my track hat software it’s either 60 or 120 maybe there is a config file that could be edited.

Good news I’ve got my overhead back in 2d and it’s put off the early demise of my GPU from flogging it too much in VR woo hoo.

Can I throw a spanner among the pidgeons ? I suffer a lot from shimmer and I was thinking about why and one of the hypothetical nonsense ideas I came up with was the electrifying electric chair issue. For example in the UK and the USA we both use a different frequency of electricity. I can’t remember which frequency is where but if you used a video camera for a market with a different frequency and weren’t able to adjust the shitter speed you would get severe shimmering and aliasing on lines in the video. Early American iPhones suffered from this in Europe etc. just throwing a pidgeon in the works but maybe it’s related to this problem. The track ir sensor is a camera after all and we can’t really do much with the shutter speed. Maybe that’s what’s causing the stutter.

I recently got the above stick. I really like it and it suits me perfectly. I fly a lot of rotary wing and I’m trying to figure out what people with this stick are using in the settings for the style of trim. I love the smoothness of the return in the stick but it causes some problems for me with the trim, I can’t center the stick fast enough and it jumps around. I usually use default but this doesn’t work I’m currently trying the centre option but it still gives a little twitch after I release the trim button. Is it something I just have to live with? I’ve only tried it so far in the Huey and not any other aircraft. I also have another question, I have the premium and I can change the analogue on the stick to a hat. Is it worth waiting till the apache comes out before I change it to a hat or is it better to have an extra hat aether than analogue. I’d prefer to use it as a hat for trim at the moment

I kind of thought the same, just needed it confirming. I was thinking maybe I could leverage the GPU on board the chip for streaming or video but then I thought I never stream or really make videos. I do sometimes fly in VR though I should have added that in the first post, VR for rotary wing and 2D for the rest. I’m wondering if it might be better to spend it on a collective.

I’ve been looking at getting a different cpu. I’ve currently got the following system. i5 9600k oc 4.9 mhz RTX 3060 64GB ram SSD and NVMe I really like my 9600 k it’s surprisingly a great CPU for DCS quite good single core performance. I don’t really have the cash to upgrade to the latest or last gen intel and motherboard. So I’m thinking to get a second hand 9900k keep my current noctura cooler (which is great btw) will I see a performance benefit for DCS ? Is it a waste of money that I could use on a new stick or something similar. Or is there a storming new generation 9600k that would work out the same price in a combo. I’m not gambling on future performance with multicore support I will assess the performance situation when that drops and upgrade then anyway. My usage is DCS only with web browsing and the odd spreadsheet/word doc. No video editing etc.

Thanks for that, I installed the shader mod earlier this evening and it does seem to run smoother without checking an fps counter. Let me test it a little more as I’m trying to decide whether to destroy that new found smoothness with either MSAA in game, AF16 or shadows onto medium. If I don’t have any success I’ll give reshade a try and thanks for the settings. Do I understand correctly that reshade takes a little fps ?

I forgot to ask using ODT or OTT do you restart the oculus service very change or is that only done if you change the bit rates thanks for the help btw I actually think I’m getting somewhere. And the tip about the saving the track has done me a world of favours.

Hi I’m trying to improve my performance a little or keep the same performance and get rid of shimmers. I’m running less than the VR default settings with 2x MSAA on a 3060. Using a quest 2 headset via cable link. Would I be able to get rid of some shimmer ? I’m on latest OB
