I can't believe it either.... The F-14 brought this thing out in the open: Automatic blinking + Jester dispensing chaff automatically. ---> this is in effect even if the pilot does not want to abuse anything just simply turns on ECM. This thing needs to be hotfixed the most simple and quick way possible!

What are you top Mid-Cold War / Viet Nam era planes (1955 -1975)
HWasp replied to upyr1's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I'd like to see: F-4E + later naval version addon Su-17 (any version) With these too +the others already confirmed in developement we could have a very good 1970s lineup -
Simple question is: why is there no bandaid fix for this at least? I don't expect a complete solution quick, but adding a general cooldown timer to ECMs does not sound like something extremely complicated, especially since FC 3 already does that. I think this is a bit too severe to just let it stay like this until some more serious ecm overhaul is done

Integrating the highest quality mods like Community A-4 into DCS
HWasp replied to HWasp's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Having almost all the DCS modules for comparison, I must say that the new A-4 2.0 is a great quality mod, the new flight model feels great, effects, sounds are really nice, everyone should try it. Dev team did an amazing job. I think this thread was blown way out of proportions, makes no sense to discuss this any further. -

There was no intention to disregard the will of the mod team. This was not a demand. If it sounded like a demand, then there is a misunderstanding, simple as that. -

Ok, maybe that is just the normal way you communicate with people. I find it unusual, but who am I to judge? If there is a thread you don't like for some reason, you can always just ignore it, very easy solution. ED mods are perfectly capable of deleting/merging useless threads like this, they do it all the time. I do agree though, I should have searched first. That being said it was interesting to see, how a thread with a positive message (even if unnecessary and useless) turns into shit on this forum. -

I have no problem with people, who disagree with my post for any reason. What I don't like is toxic shit attitude for no reason. There is also no need for voluntary hobby moderators to come and bark at people. -

You really don't seem to get it... Problem is not installing a mod, it is really easy. Problem is: most popular servers are presently reluctant to run a mod, because they want to keep the server easy to join, no special requirements. It is a turnoff for many people. Also very important: this is a WHISHLIST thread ok? Both ED and the devs can just ignore this, no problem. We are talking about the new 2.0 beta with the NEW flight model, which is great imo. I never even tried the current stable 1.4 with the SFM. Not interested in SFM mods. If you did not try the new version, try it. -

Yes, this would be a good option. -

Alright, alright, I sincerely apologise to all the dear forum members for creating this thread instead of using the search function first, I'll be very catious, that next time before I post in this very very serious whislist section, I will do at least 3 days of research to be sure it was never mentioned before. Thank you all for your very valuable input, have a nice day. -

Where did I maling the poor froggy? I have spent a lot of time in the 25T, it is a great plane, but it is not the one I would show as the first one to a newcomer. -

Are we certain that all the DCS modules are licenced by the aircraft manufacturers? Did Mikoyan (RSK MiG company) licence the Razbam MiG-19, or the LN MiG-21? Does the M2000C we have licence from Dassault? What about all the warbirds? -

Wow, lots of negativity here... I respect that they are doing this in their free time, I'm simply voicing my subjective opinion, that since their free time hobby product now reached payware quality, it would be nice to have it integrated somehow IF it is possible in the future. Also if certain users would demand features, it could be disregarded just as easily as now, as long as it remains free, I don't see how that is a problem until it somehow breaks the game for other users not using the plane... -

Well, I hope they change their minds in the future, becuase this mod is way too good. I'd guess that more than 90% if DCS users won't ever install unofficial mods like that. Real quality freeware like this could also give a boost to general DCS popularity, since compared to this one the Su-25T we have now is not exactly the type of plane that attracts a big crowd. This 2.0 beta release with the EFM is at the first glance on par with official modules, it is kind of a waste to let it remain hidden in the mod section in my opinion. -
Just tried the new EFM version, and must say that even now it surpasses certain paid modules in quality. This mod is just fantastic. I'm wondering if there is any possibility in the future to include this into DCS in a way that it becomes MP compatible? Maybe there could be an official freeware module status, where if certain quality standards are met, then that aircraft is integrated into the base DCS install?

Thing is, that if something really is wrong with the plane, then someone will have to sit down and put some time into finding out what is wrong exactly and write a report in a way that really shows off particular differences to some RL sources. Need to try and pinpoint this thing, posts like "plane flies funny" don't achieve anything ever. It completely possible, for example, that the FM itself is spot on, but something in the FCS modeling is off a bit...

No I'm not saying that. I'm saying that certain things like countering turbulence or pitch oscillations might be easier IRL feeling the actual aircraft motions. The MiG-29 in DCS can be flown without oscillations, that is a fact. Also I'm not saying that it is 100% correct for sure, but it is not the horrible uncontrollable beast some people say it is. Great vid! Late spring, over the city low, lots of thermals and turbulence, no wonder they are working hard.
-
The main difference is that in a real aircraft you feel the movements, making it easier to react quickly to small deviations. Here in the sim you rely on visual cues 100%. Big difference

F-14A + Mirage F-1 vs MiG-29 + 23 sounds like a fun 80s server to me already.

Workload using jester AI to control radar elevation
HWasp replied to HWasp's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Actively searching for targets would be the most important task for any radar operator. When I fly the single seat jets I always scan with the radar even when there is datalink support. I understand, that it would be extremely difficult to program Jester to search and prioritise targets effectively and it might not worth the effort, but someone has to do it. If Jester does not scan with the radar, then we need more quick and effective controls on the radar operation to do it ourselfs for some extent. -
1980s is the most colorful decade, with the most diverse possiblities in my opinion. You can have 4th gens with powerful radars and BVR but it is mostly fox-1 fights, so it might get very interesting when a swarm of GCI guided MiG-21s go against a couple of F-15s. In the 2000s? It is fox-3x8 rtb, not that interesting. For AG there are lots of precision weapons, but most are a but limited, so unguided weapons still have their time and place. Best scenario could have been to release early 80ies versions of the 4th gens first, and then sell upgrades for some money. Doing it the other way around will produce less income as less of the general crowd will pay for a downgrade.
