You are right. In fact I never buy unfinished without testing before. I love all my modules (and I have about 70% of released products). It is difficult to judge the commercial policy of continuously releasing new Early Access products: on the one hand it allows ED to increase revenues and available funds but on the other it risks delaying the completion of the products already released. For now, overall, it has gone well. Let's hope for the future. For the moment I am slowing down the purchases also because before I become really good at managing A10, F14, F16, F18, Huey, Gazelle, AH-64D, Sabre and all the WWII birds I think years will pass.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. However I don't think that upgrading would fix and surely I'm not going to spend 1.500 euros every two year just to cope with new maps. In your case the upgrading from 4790k to 14900KS was worthing; 4790k was released 10 years ago and the gain in performance is about 70%. 5800X3D has been released in 2022 and I9-14900ks offers only +27% gaining. Also I can get steady 75 fps in any other complex missions (sometimes getting steady 100 fps) If you open that particular mission in ME will find out that there more than 500 static objects at the airport, which is insane. And after a minute or so from take-off I can reach steady 75 fps. Many thanks for your answer that I much appreciated Ciao

When flying high i don't have any issue. There are big issues when parked at Kandahar airport in some instant mission. For me it's not a trustable terrain so far. I downloaded the trial version but I'm not going to buying it. It's unfinished, with a few custom missions available and no campaigns. I've bought plenty of DCS modules. Most of them are very very good and a real fun to fly but from now on I will only buy completed and deeply tested modules. With so many Early Access modules I'm afraid that it will take decades to have the finished in time for me to run them. I'm 65 this year

I've also taken some time to provide some additional techical info. My DCS settings are the following (as per image attached): I launched F-14 Instant Action mission: F-14B-Cold Start Afghanistan Without doing anything in the cockpit I took 4 snapshots as follows: 1) in cockpit view (F1) locking at my 3 o'clock (see attach image DCS 2025-03-05 00-16-06): fps is 39 fps2) in cockpit view (F1) locking at my 9 o'clock (see attach image DCS 2025-03-05 00-17-48): fps is 27 fps Then I tried same view angle from outside cockpit (using F4): 1) locking at my 3 o'clock (see attach image DCS 2025-03-05 00-15-22): fps is 57 fps 2) locking at my 9 o'clock (see attach image DCS 2025-03-05 00-18-43 fps is 32 fps

have downloaded the trial version of Afghanistan and can confirm that I can easily get 75 and more fps after taking off. The fps drops to 27 when parked at Kandahar in F-14 Instant Action Cold and Dark (IMHO there are too many objects in that mission parked at Kandahar). My config is: Ryzen 7 5800X3D, MSI RTX 4090 24gb, 64GB DRAM, 2 x 1TB SSD, 5 Monitors 1920x1080p, Win11-Home The resolution is 7680x1080 to cope with my monitor setup (see image) where: 2 is the monitor dedicated to the left view 4 is for the center view 3 is for the right view 5 is for the view at the sky above the HUD at center view (very useful for dogfighting and for general immersion since I don't want to use VR) and monitor n. 1 is dedicated to Helios. Never got 27 fps in any other map/airport so far. It breaks immersion at all. i also have the 3 mini-monitors from WinWing for the MIP in F18 that would require to increase gloabal resolution but I've not tried them yet. I guess that the 27fps will decrease to a lower value. I'm not sure I'll buy Afghanistan for now. There's plenty to do and to learn elsewhere where things run definetly smooter.

I think it is important to broaden the DCS user base by trying to attract pilots from Flight Simulator. This would certainly help to increase the company's cash flow and allow investments to cover the missing parts ( in particular: ATC, new scenarios, new airports). Do you think it is possible to enter into agreements with third parties to introduce the possibility of flying AWACS, aerial refueling aircraft, commercial aircraft flying routes in dangerous areas or training areas (thinking about Nellis and the near Las Vegas airport)? Over time the new arrivals may become interested in military flying too.

Thanks a lot. That fixes the issue. Currently the problem is due to VaicomPro that doesn't recognize many SC commands. If I press Shift-U, instead of using VaicomPro, it works properly. BTW: thanks for your great campaigns. -

I made another attempt this evening. This time I arrived earlier (at 07:05) in the proximity of the carrier (I had to rush though ). Then I finished refuelling al 7:12 (it's difficult for me to be any faster ). I had the time to command a "2, go to tanker". This time my wingman copied and approached to basket. As soon as he touched the basket with the probe he immediately disconnected and rejoined. It was 07:15 at that time. Maybe the mission has a time frame within to complete the refuelling of both memers of the flight? -

I'm using VaicomPro and proceed as demontrated in the YouTube video: I arrive in the poximity of the tanker at 07:17 (a little late). 1) I approach Texaco and press the spacebar to start the voiceovers with the dialogues between me and the tanker 2) Then I invoke "Approaching for refuel" in VaicomPro using the proper Radio button (for Tthe AN/ARC 182 V/UHF 2 Radio which has been properly set by RIO on channel 3) 3) I receive the answer from Texaco and then I invoke "Ready precontact" and receive "Clear Contact" from Texaco. 4) I refuel my F14 and then I move to the right to leave space to my wingman. 5) I invoke VaicomPro "2, Go to the Tanker" and he answers "Two, Affirm". I would expect him to catch the basket and get gas. Instead he doesn't do that and after a few seconds he says : "Two, rejoining" There is no way to have wingman perform air refuelling before pressing Spacebare to move on and contact Magic 1-1. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks -
Hi, I installed DCS Update 2.9.10.3948 (December 4) and when I fly Mission 1 or 3 (probably also in subsequent missions) Takeoff check list doesn't start when I start rolling. In previous versione it did, instead. Is it me or something related to the newly introduced flight directors in the recent update?

Could you elaborate the answer a little further, please? I'm using VAICOM Prom and I don't understand how to contact ARCO and also have my wingman refuel on his turn. Many thanks in advance. -
It's a matter of tactile sensitivity, especially when moving levers. The movement of the lever is also less shakY and the noise is way much better. Not just a question of solidity against potential damage. For knobs and other components is not so ncessary.

Not a question of functionality (apart from the two levers - tail hook and wings - that are too close togheter). The problem, IMO, is the overall quality which is certanly not the same as the previous PTO and the CRP which are really twp excellent metal panels. I would have bought PTO2 if wasn't for quality (even if it duplicates some functionalities of CRP, which is not an ideal choice). It seems too plastic to look at and use...

I totally agree. So far they have delivered very good products (I have lot's of them including both panels, MIP, F16 Throttle). Let's hope this is not a turning point to lower quality of their products. Surely I'm not going to buy it. One can clear see it's not worth at all by watching the reviews on YouTube.

I have tried to set inital state of volume knobs using this entries in the mainpanel_init.lua of Heatblur F14: args_initial_state = { [256] = 1.0, -- PLT_MIRROR_L [257] = 1.0, -- PLT_MIRROR_R [258] = 0.55, -- PLT_MIRROR_TOP [2031] = 0.4, -- PLT_UHF1_VOL [2038] = 0.4, -- PLT_VUHF_VOL [2039] = 0.4, -- PLT_AIM9_VOL [2040] = 0.4, -- PLT_ALR67_VOL } These settings have effect on the mirrors but no effect at all on the volumes. Each time I start a mission the volume knobs are set to 0.6 What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, you only need to replace those two .lua files.No other parts are needed. Actually Chump29 has removed those parts contained in the AWACS and Wingman Addon in his DCS_Mod. Probably because of some ED modications for managing AWACS' callouts that would force him to revise the code. Since endlessly Wingmen's callouts are very annoying i've taken the time to examine his code. It's relatively easy and self contained so I could extract and replicate it in the most recent version of those two files. I don't have time though to patch for AWACS radio calls but patching wingmen is satisfactory to for now.

I've modified Scripts\Speech\common.lua and NATO.lua for DCS 2.9.7.59263 in my DCS installation folder to reintroduce WIngman Addon's message spam functionalities. it seems to work flawlessly. I've attached the files here. It is exactly what I was searching for. Don't understand why ED doesn't take in account Chump29's great job. He is a genius... Chump29WingmanAddonMod.zip
