Bonz has Process lasso permanently saved the settings for dcs? or u have to do it everytime u run dcs? Secondly if its permanent, do u have to run the program everytime you start windows? Please put some light on the matter. Thanks

Very useful information indeed. This might be the reason I was getting stutters in Sli configuration. I will try it tonight and will report back.
-
Nop. Visibility range is set to ultra ....by the way any idea whats the difference between preload radius and visibility range. What effects do they really have on the simulation ? I will give process lassoo a try. If DCS is using one core then CPU bottlenecking is quite possible. But total usage never goes beyond 20%
-
Can you please confirm this process lasoo software is totally safe and virus free ?
-
In that case, you are good to go.

Check out this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=203070&page=4 where people are talking about an application via which you can control how many cores DCS uses. Do u think We should give it a try ? its process lassoo or something
-
But guys IF by doing this you are solving your stutter issues then why dont the developers incorporate this change in DCS once and for all. Is it that difficult ?
-
Can u guide where can we get this PL thing ?:helpsmilie:

Thanks for the detailed information bonzzz. I will try it tonight. #9 ... when you select CPUs or threads on which u want dcs to run on, are you chaning the cpu core or you are distributing the load on all cores ??

Ladies and gentlemen, After trying for hours and hours yesterday to get sli to work, different sli bits and settings and bla bla.... I have finally come to the conclusion and Sli DOES NOT work with DCS 2.5. In sli The fps remains the same and the usage of both GPU decreases. The cards do run cooler allowing for a better overclock potential, but there are stutters which ruins the experience. I have two 1070s and according to the benchmarks, in games that support sli they can outperform a 1080 ti. But not in DCS 2.5. Hence 1080ti is the way to go if you want to enjoy DCS on maximum settings.
-
Can u please elaborate a bit more on how to change threads and please put some light on the affinity thing. And what is PL ? All this is alien talk to me.

First of all welcome back to flight simulators Mr. Sparky. You have indeed made a good decision to come back to flight simualtors specially DCS world which is one of the best. As you have ample amount of time in hand, it will not take you long to become an ace pilot. To run DCS 2.5 smoothly, you need to have an above average gaming PC and a good controller with decent accuracy. With less accurate controls you wont be able to do good formation flying. We are three people, me, my brother and a friend who are relatively new and still in learning phase specially formation flying which needs lots of practise. We would love to fly with you some day however the time difference between our locations can be quite a hurdle. Wishing you all the best. If you want to ask anything you are welcome.

That would be really really nice. DCS has evolved alot since its start. Yes there are a few bugs in DCS 2.5 but we should also appreciate the thousand things which are working fine. I mean the graphics etc have improved alot. I am sure it will keep on improving with time to come.
-
Very nice onformation. But doesnt that mean that ED developers will have to recode DCS entirely from scratch. And IMO, there is a much easier option for developers to resolve the performance issues, that is, to make sli to work. Specially in VR.
-
If u r having smooth gameplay on your old machine, then it confirms that your new machine has adequate hardware to run dcs without stutters. You did not mention your PSU. Looks like your VGA isnt getting stable power supply. I have a dual 1070 setup, although sli is not working in DCS but I am not having any stutterss. You can swap the power supply ans see how it goes.
-
ok will vulcan give better performance in vr ??
-
Good point about the hardware requirement. I think anything equal to or above 1080 ti would be able to handle next generation VRs.
-
I totally agree with you. I am thankful to everyone for sharing their experiences. I can clearly conclude that altough VR is an awsome experience but it is a comprimise of graphic quality. The new Caucauss is too beautiful to compromise the graphicsss and effects. I have decided to wait for better models of VR.
-
I am having the same issue. Cannot retain lock on target in TWS mode regardless of the distance. It locks the target only for a second then automatically unlocks.
-
At this moment ...... enjoying the beautiful scenery of Caucauss is more important for me.
-
Atleast one of the issues has been acknowledged.
-
I agree. This ruines the MP experience.

that player was actually me  and felt a little urealistic with that amount of damage to continue flying. as far as the missile view thing is concerned, all players should be able to see the same missile path. This is sync bug which should be sorted out. I mean I am telling other players "oh no mission failed the missiles are going in ocean" the others are telling me "no they are right on track." what the .... :music_whistling:

this is too technical for me to understand.
