I'll try the Day/Night switch at the bottom of the UFC but I definitely dim the HUD brightness down and make sure I'm in night cockpit [green] lighting mode but I still find it a challenge picking up ground objects, especially looking through the upper half of the HUD where you have the double layer lens...I sometimes find myself looking around the HUD to see better. Thanks for the info.

I seem to be having trouble seeing through the HUD at night time. The HUD is too dark. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a setting that helps lighten the HUD or am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Thanks for the information! Opening DCS from desktop is 1 click, seems to me to be the quicker way but I do believe there are some unique Steam features you can use with DCS.

I checked, easy comms is enabled in the MP set up, I don't recall seeing this format xx.xx when playing single player with easy comms disabled so I'm just going to assume it's a glitch. I usually use the 'M' slot on the radio for inputing my desired freq., sometimes I overwrite the other pre-loaded channels 1-20. Never understood why pre-loaded channels were not installed in numerical order? I recall there used to be another comm command when on the ground whether parked or taxing besides what you mentioned. It was needed until you were airborne, don't currently see it as an option. Would you know what these commands do? COMM 1 Antenna Selector Switch - AUTO COMM 1 Antenna Selector Switch - Down

Can I add DCS to my Steam library without affecting my DCS license [will I still be able to run DCS without Steam if I choose to]? What if any are the advantages of running DCS through Steam? Thank you.

I disabled easy comms but still got the same xx.xx AM...a minute later those same digits changed to xxx.xxx and it went back and forth like that.

Yes that makes sense...but even if they do go into the same folder, so long as it's not the same file it should be ok.

I was more wondering what the xx.xx freq. format is for and how to use it.

I was flying Nevada MP in Aerobatics online beta server. Clicking on the ATC menu the radio freq. are listed beside the airfield.

Sometimes the radio comms menu changes frequency for the same airfield. For example I'll see the regular [xxx.xxx] ie.250.500 format for an airfield and can call in successfully and a minute later the same airfield will change frequency to show [xx.xx] ie.38.60 which doesn't work. Can someone please explain. Thank you.

Yes I am getting the ball representation on the HUD but it disappears as I close in on the carrier or it becomes inactive...I guess at that point I'm close enough to see the actual IFLOLS. Yes thanks I remember someone saying aim for the crotch for the 3 wire.

Where do you mean exactly by the end of the landing zone using the velocity vetor?

Thanks for that info, I don't have much of a problem with landings but they are a bit inconsistent, want to tighten them up. As for IFLOLS it is not the clearest using VR.

When catching the 3 wire is there a constant touchdown point on the carrier deck that you look for? Thank you.
