  2. How do you know there is a patch tomorrow? Is there a forum for patch updates? v6, boNes
  3. I'd rather he call bandit clock code better. His calls are useless because it seems like he has to say everything in order in his script as it happens. So when I have out maneuvered a bandit and have him on my nose, he still says "6:00! 6:00 He's gonna fire!" Can't stand it. v6, boNes
  4. I did see Baltic Dragon flying the C-130J and I think someone was filming, but it was probably for that person's YouTube channel, not Baltic's or ED's. There was also someone from ED there with Baltic, I forget his name, but he wasn't really there to represent as much as to be on hand. Expo was 90% racing, 7% flight simming, and 3% VR, to give you an idea why there is not much footage for the flight sim side. There was only one flight sim cockpit, and that was the Airbus one. There were no other flight sim cockpits, only 1 rig. All the other flight sims were tabletop with HOTAS. And yes, the C-130J was in an area like a LAN party, but that was OK. I myself probably would have filmed more, but I had my son in tow and had to keep an eye on him which wouldn't make for good video footage. v6, boNes Baltic Dragon at 01:26:50!
  5. Got a chance to fly the C-130J. It did, with all due respect, feel better than the C-130 mod. But then again, I was not using my own rig or HOTAS so pretty much everything I fly will feel different. It was nice though. I met up with Xpendable there and he was saying that he inadvertantly had the C-130J throttle thrown to reverse, and it started taxiing backwards. By the time he had gotten control of it again, it had been backward taxiing at 80 kts! Wow. It was also great to meet Baltic Dragon, what a great guy. Here is me, Baltic Dragon, and Xpendable. v6, boNes
  6. Any of the Foothold missions in MP. On rare occasion it might work, but not very likely. v6, boNes
  7. I've done that with VAICOM Pro, but again this is dependent on the mission. Sometimes Jester is happy to "set map marker 1 to fixed point" and other times he just plain ignores you. v6, boNes
  8. Well I do it if I'm targeting, say, a building. I have and love VAICOM Pro but there is no "Look for buildings" command. I could do it from the front seat, but the eyeballs command, then head adjustment takes longer than if I went in the RIO seat and did it myself. So I noticed it's mission dependent. I don't know why. But when I flew a different mission, Jester was fine leaving my designated target as his new designated target. But in other mission, he ignores it and goes with his previous one. I dunno why. v6, boNes
  9. Lately, if I jump in the backseat, find a target, designate it, then jump back in the front seat, Jester immediately drops the target I designated and snaps back to whatever target he was watching before. If I tell him to track the designated target (QDES) he does not track the target i had designated either. I don't recall him doing this before. Am I missing something? I know my designation went through in the backseat because I see the blank symbology i the LANTIRN replaced with the TTG bar and countdown. I also tried undesignating and redesignating but it didn't work wither. v6, boNes
  10. I would shut down VAICOM Pro and DCS then try deleting the export.lua in the Saved Games/Scripts folder, then restarting VAICOM Pro and see if it works then. It should make a new export.lua to replace the old one. v6, boNes
  11. Good to know, Max, thanks. Maybe it happened before but so long ago that I didn't remember it. v6, boNes
  12. I thought of that but-- 1) I couldn't find the axis setting at the time (I did now) and 2) Not having to do this before, or for the other modules, is this a bug? It only happened after the last 2 patches. It works now. v6, boNes
  13. After the last patch, the aircraft always by default has the left and right wheel brakes engaged. THey appear fine in the controls adjusment, but not in the pit. If I push my rudder toe brakes to full brake, the brakes disengage, so the toe brakes on the rudder is opposite what they should be. I tested it in the F-16 and F-14 and it worked fine. it only happens in the Hornet. Anyone else experience this? v6, boNes
  14. The Kola map on Steam is only 12% off, not 30%. I thought maybe it was just different because it's Steam, but all the other discounts in the original post are showing as they should in Steam, just not Kola. v6, boNes
  15. Thanks all for the great info. When I use the HARM with HTS, I use POS EOM and I don't fire until I am pointed right at the target (VV right on lubber line, in between loft envelope markers). So it could be the target was destroyed before I hit it. Also that way if the target hasn't moved and the radar turns off, it will hit close. Still there are times when the HARM gets lost. v6, boNes
  16. OK,thanks! v6, boNes
  17. Thanks, that's pretty much what I'm doing now, so it will have to do. I just wish it had something where you can slav it to say your VV/FPM like you can in the Hornet. v6, boNes
  18. IS there any symbology available in the HUD or in the JHMCS to show where friendlies are or if you have buddy spiked someone? Similar to the Hornet? Thanks. v6, boNes
  19. Is there a better way to sight the TGP to a target of opportunity? I try using SP but when I do, the TGP sometimes starts at a point near the horizon, sometimes it's way off at who knows where and I can't manually slew it on target on time. I even tried changing the ground radar range to 15 just to get it to look lower below my nose but that doesn't help much either. WHat do you all do? Thanks. v6, boNes
  20. I've noticed several times that when I lock a target in the HTS HAD page and fire, the missile goes stupid and flies into the ether or crashes into the ground. I was wondering if the HTS/HAD detects a threat and it gets killed, it still remembers that threat and thus is a "ghost return." ie, am I shooting at a target that USED to be there but is not anymore? The only thing is I believe that the PGM level still changes as I track that return prior to locking it--if the target was destroyed it wouldn't be transmitting so why is there a PGM change? What happens if the target radar is turned off? Will it still show in the HAD page because it was remembered by the HTS? Thanks. v6, boNes
  21. For the wheel chocks issue, when you salute, the wheel chocks will come off automatically. However, do not taxi too fast because then they will come back on automatically and I don't know how to get them to take them off again then. If you disable the deck crew in the settings you won't have this problem. My problem is if I give radio checks and my AI wingy (in this case, Psycho) taxies before me, she stops and then I never get the flight directors to give me the go ahead to taxi because she's in the way or in the queue. I tried taxiing to the cat via the flight directors so as to get to the cat before her and not get held up, but as soon as I was hooked up to the cat and got the runup signal, I then did the radio checks with her so she can start taxiing and she never did move. SO the mission cannot go on unless you fly without a wingman. v6, boNes
  22. I think you mean brown shirt. The red shirts are ordies. v6, boNes
  23. Aw, that's too bad, it's really handy in the Hornet. I don't' have to do anything but pickle more or less, then I can go back to my bomb run. On the other hand, HARMS via HTS and HAD is unbeatable! v6, boNes
  24. The F/A-18C has s Self Protect mode for its HARMs that allow you to shoot the HARM on the fly should you get spiked while say, on a bomb run. Does the F-16 have something equivalent? Having to switch from my bomb to the SMS/INV/HARM page then switch to the WEAP page and choosing HAS or what have you then firing takes way too long. Thanks! v6, boNes
  25. I heard tell that navigation in the F-16 was bugged. In recent days I have tried it and that tadpole never points to the right direction. Does anyone know if the navigation bug is still there? While we're at it, what about ILS--there was some AI function that if the wind is not blowing in favor of the ILS runway then the tower turns off the ILS and markers. Is that still true? Thanks! v6, boNes
