  1. I'm not opposed to do it in the future. I want to improve this, when the map drawing tools are arriving and so on. So there will be at least one big iteration. Maybe I can get some help from you guys and do it all the way through.
  2. Roger that. I'll give you a buzz. Thanks.
  3. This is something that i'm trying to master as well and put it in a proper documentation. I have to be honest, when I have tried it didn't worked consistently enough for me to put it out. Instrument navigation would be needed in maybe 4 or 5 missions. The most important part would be the return leg to the base, and I believe that's done properly.
  4. Thanks so much for this. I live by the motto "everyday is a school day" although I hated school when I was young. These first two campaigns are a first for me. The third one I'm doing i used all the feedback from here and I believe is closer to what BD and Reflected are producing. So, to me, it's always good to hear feedback. If i can respond back and show that I listen it's all good. cheers,
  5. I'd love to do this fully localized with Russian and English, but I just don't have the grasp of the language, and at this point I can't ask for someone to work for me. I had difficulties with the language where the first translation was crap and i got a whole lot of flak for it. And then there's the matter of support. I'll have to be able to support people where we would difficulties communicating with. All these campaigns that you see on the market barely cover 50% of the work and time we put in.
  6. Hi guys, Until I get to modify the briefings accordingly I changed the supporting documentation to give a bit more clarity on what the players have to achieve in each mission, where I felt the need to clarify it more. There are available to download here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vibRGWKqXa8gqxXsGtmMgnpgCl94VV4g?usp=sharing For the first 3 missions that are not combat heavy I have explained what is expected from the player to do, also for the rest of the missions I have put Dev notes at the end of the briefing where you can better understand what needs to be done and what are the missions pass/fail criteria. Some of them are a bit more complicated than "destroy this" They are tied in how the flights around you behave when you are able to clear the skies in front of them or not. I understand that it can be confusing and frustrating. Also, reaching some of the waypoints, before engaging the enemy can be crucial in some of the missions and the Mig-21 is not an easy thing to navigate. Over the sea you can use the NAVAIDS at the airports to go around it, and over land I placed the waypoints on what I think are quite distinguishable places. Villages, promontories, and so on. I hope this will make your life better and that you will enjoy this. I don't believe that the first round of updates for this campaign made it to the release. Still waiting for clarification from the guys at ED. With the new addition of the drawing tools my plan is to continue to improve this campaign as more of these tools are being made available to us. Cheers,
  7. I understand your frustration. Clearly i'm not communicating properly what needs to be done in the briefings. I posted on the main forum that I'll re-work the briefings. The first PDF version will be available in the following days and then i'll push it as an update. In my head, this should be clear. You take-off, fly WP1 then instructed you turn to WP2 and navigate to it. Once you reach it it instructs you to go towards WP3, giving you a heading to it and a required altitude. Then, you see what happens. I'll add all those where it seems fit. Cheers, and thanks for the understanding.
  8. Hi guys, It was brought to my attention that some of the briefings are not clear enough when it comes to missions objectives. I will work on updating the PDF documentation that is coming with the campaign and publish it here. It should take me about 3 days to have it available as a download link. Also I will add the revised documentation in the briefings and kneeboards. This will take a bit more time but will be available for the next update. Cheers,
  9. I'll put the objectives in the kneeboard files. That shouldn't be a problem. I'm assuming that you are drifting on your turn and not reaching the trigger around WP2, that has been adjusted in the update. Flying this thing accurate can be a challenge.
  10. First of all. please post these in the proper forum spot: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/801-sorelro/ . Although skipping missions is your choice and you can play just the way you like it. You are kinda missing a bit of a story when you do that. The first mission tests you on how well you can take off and reach high altitude. Having to blast at full AB all the way to 10000 m is always fun. Second one puts you in a bit of a formation flying, and also sends you to a range where you get to practice your rockets run and gun runs in high crosswind conditions. The third mission, is exactly that. You have to intercept and escort back a reccon flight that is being chased by the F-5's. And it's pretty much the beginning of the conflict.

In reality you would have someone to give you a position check, you would know the area of operations by heart, or you would be able to use the NAVAIDS to navigate without any problems. But all those are hard to do in DCS. I would rather drop a carrot than waste 30 minutes being lost. I got lost flying for real and it's not fun. When you have to go 017 and you look at 170 at your compass things don't go too well. They go pretty much in the opposite direction Now, with the introduction of the drawing tools and all the other neat features in the ME. All my campaigns will have another iteration. I may drop some pointers when someone goes off-course and have the player the ability to start them at the beginning of each mission.

That is the Gelendhzik VOR/RSBN, and the numbers are heading and distance. So when you are tuned to the said RSBN and you fly from your waypoint on the heading of xxx at the xx distance from the VOR you will be at the next waypoint. Navigating the Mig-21 is a bit more complicated, but, you know, there's no harm in dropping a carrot on your kneeboard and adjust to your course.
  13. Hi there. Thanks for bringing this up. Couple of things. What version are you playing? The English voices or the Russian? You have to make sure that you are over 10.000 the missions are done in metric system, the trigger there it's quite simple, your plane must be over 10.000 barometric altitude, or how DCS interprets that. In tests I've never had any problems reaching and going over 10.000 to stay on the safe side. The only problem that I see is that if you are not managing your turn well and you drop your altitude during the instructed turn you will get the "Not good enough message" However, if you keep your altitude as instructed, over 10.000 shouldn't be a problem. Careful that your altimeter is not adjusted to the pressure of the day. When you are on the ground it is indicating 300 meters. Also, in transonic speeds, your altimeter and speed will have erroneous indications that you should take into consideration. To stay on the safe side maybe go over 10000 there's no limitation on how high you can go.
  14. Holly smokes, that's a good read. Gonna put it on my Kindle
  15. Hi guys, Yes, it is available on Steam. I believe it was a bit of a mistake when they pushed it out. Campaigns usually are released on the ED store first, then on Steam. The campaign has some pending updates already. Campaign should be released fully and officially at the next update.
  16. That's such a good read. And also it's interesting if you read about the US pilots flying to Mig-21 and saying how it can hold its own against maneuvering planes. https://www.key.aero/sites/keyaero/files/node_forum/2010/07/15/MAKING THE BEST OF MiG-21 w.pdf
  17. I usually post them here before they make it to the updates. But with the campaign not being fully out yet. I don't want to give too many spoilers away. I they won't push them in the update for next week I'll put it here. If you read the briefing. There are multiple tasks. first to start up from cold and be lined up for takeoff in under 3 minutes. second, to climb over 10000 and maintain until you reach Gudata WP2, the ground instructs there to turn left on 290 towards WP3, make sure that you adjust your heading according to your turn radius. I saw that differs from player to player, so, navigate towards WP3, getting there, you should get some instructions on how to proceed with your low level intercept.
  18. I have a few fixes sent to ED for that. Just refining the triggers a little bit.

  20. Yeah you did! I had no idea. I think someone got their wires crossed and pushed it on Steam first. Gonna run for the hills now, 'cause this is going to be tricky. The AG is quite hard if not done right.
  21. Holy smokes. ED released it on Steam first. I don't know if it's a first or it's a mistake. Don't know if I should open the champagne or run for the hills.
  22. Don't forget one thing. F-5E will teach you how to fly right, how to maintain your energy, It will teach you gunnery without the air of aiming devices, It will teach you to drop dumb bombs aimed by your eyes and how consistent your bomb pass is. Guess what, when you switch to a Gen4 fighter all those lessons will give you the edge and will make the transition easier to what you like to fly. It's quite a nice plane and quite fun in MP and SP. Those bugs that exists, we all learned how to live with them.
  23. You should, Kevin Miller is a brilliant author when it comes to aviation. All 3 books from the Raven One series are really nice and for the WWII folks I could recommend The Silver Waterfall: A Novel of the Battle of Midway. I just finished it and I'm amazed by the amount of research that went into that book and how it's all stitched together. Anyway, read the book, all the answers are there. Awesome campaign and it's hard not to enjoy it.
  24. Concur!
