I feel there is a new Gen of VR coming very soon. I would wait tell Nov. Sent from my H8266 using Tapatalk

This is only one curve. But what about the other curves at different fuel level? Noting that. Every time you fire a missile, your weight is reduced. So most probably when you are in WVR, the R-27 are already gone. So your weight and the aerodynamic of the plane is more better even if you are at 50% fuel. Sent from my H8266 using Tapatalk

Okay. From NATOPS. There are two corrective actions based on Visible/ No Visible ice on LEF. But, is ice on the LEFS modeled? The second thing there are actions which require to check INLET TEMP. Is it modeled too? Sent from my H8266 using Tapatalk

I understand your point. But what to do, or what is the procedure when I have the Inlet Ice message. Sent from my H8266 using Tapatalk

Today in mission I created, I sat up the weather to "winter clouds & wind" preset and the temperature was 14°C. I took off from the carrier cold and dark. While in flight and cruising at 15000ft and 350kn, I got a Master Warning light with a message "INLET ICE". Immediately, I switched Engine Anti Ice to ON, and after few moments the message cleared. But, after a while the same warning message came on and I checked Engine Anti Ice and it was ON? I continued flying at the same altitude and speed. But the warning message keep coming on and off for about 2 to 4 minutes cycle. Is Engine Anti Ice the correct switch to switch it ON? or there is another switch? When I lowered my altitude to less than 5000ft the warning message disappeared and did not show up again. I tried it when starting the mission on air. Add the formation command in the waypoint action. I prefer adding a waypoint (1) after the takeoff with the formation command. Sent from my H8266 using Tapatalk

I guess the problem is a mixture of 3 things. 1- I think that the game is optimized for FHD (1080) screens. This is why on higher resolution the render of other planes is smaller because the number of pixels is the same as FHD. 2- FHD, UHD and 4K is meant to be used on different screen sizes. For example FHD for screens from 20" to 40", UHD from 40" to 80" and 4K for screen sizes more than 80". 3- There is no actual zoom in or out in DCS. What we have is only FOV. From 60 to 80 is optimum for 16:9 screens. Less than 60 is very narrow, so the game engine stretch the render and you the effect of zooming in. More than 80 is too wide and the game engine compress the render and you have the effect of zooming out. As for SA. This is a different topic. But best FOV in DCS for SA during dog fighting, I found it to be from 90 to 110 degree. Also in real life which make it even more easier for spotting and SA are dynamic human eyes, Depth of field and Reflection Glare. And the later two could be implemented in a game engine. As per my understanding. INS Velocity vector will be displayed. STBY the velocity vector will be replaced by W. using the Standby indicator in place of the velocity vector. If the INS failed. W will show. As per procedure you have to re-align the INS.

I created a mission and then hit run, while loading the game crashed. Info are gathered by DCS and created a zip file. So here is the zipped file. dcs.log-20180704-215156.zip

Exactly. This is what DCS needs to continue its success. The sim it self needs alot of attention to be a solid ground for other modules. I wish ED take a break from pushing content and continue developing the sim it self, fix all the issues then push whatever content they want or demanded by the customers. I'm afraid these issues will be as ghosts and connot be hunted down same as current Prepar3d. They are still finding and fixing issues from FSX after all these years. Agreed [emoji106] When I was on 1080p setup I had much higher chances for spotting other aircrafts. But now, using 1440p setup, I have difficulties in spotting unless if you know where to look. But guess what. Which one is more realistic? In other words. What is the realistic range to spot an F-5 or Mig-29 for example? Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk

You can use CTRL + F11 with Pad lock. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk

And if you put the HSI on either of the DDI's and changed the the brightness of MFCD, the HSI bezel, sequence line and waypoints would be effected on the DDI. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk

I had the same issue before. What I did to resolve it, after going through the shut down procedure and before shutting down the right engine I turn off the Mission computer. First I trun off MC 2 for 10 sec then MC 1 for another 10. If you do so you will see both DDI blink "Stand by" then every thing is restarted except few things related to HSI and others few. Also make sure after you set the takeoff trim, the numbers on the left matching the number on the right on FCS page. Sometimes if you applied left or right trims, it remains and do not reset. Doing all the above I launched from the carrier 3 times after refueling and rearming just as my first. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk

Removing AI from carrier take off - how did I do this?
Knives replied to dburne's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I was in your shoes before. But I found spending more time in ME is more rewarding for creating complex unpredictable scenarios that are more enjoyable than simple missions. I started with very basic things. Then advance waypoints actions, then triggers and finally LUA scripting. Learn them one by one. It takes time but it is very rewarding. I found my self spending 80% of my time creating a mission and 20% flying. Try to follow MagzTV on YouTube. That guy create and fly his own missions. You can also download his missions from User downloads on DCS website. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk -
That key can has nothing to animate. It is only there for HOTAS system you use if it doesn't have a detent. In real life there are finger lifts you have to use to go AB. You can bind the finger lifts to your HOTAS. Going full on your throttle will go up to MIL power. Pressing finger lifts bind and full on your throttle will go AB. At that time you have animation of the finger lifts. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk

Yes you can Auto Start. Simply by pressing left-Win + Home. I rarely use it. Because it take longer time than do it manually. Andby the way F-18 has a very simple startup procedure. Simpler than A-10C and the AV-8B. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk

I noticed that AI planes/vehicles during a replay are rethinking and the track does not save AI decisions or parameters. And my guess is that the replay is deviating from the actual mission because the AI is making different decisions. And when the deviation hit a certain limit, the player plane goes dead stick and become uncontrolled. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk

I saved a track after I competed a mission and landed on the carrier. But, whenever I play the replay or any mission with the F-18. My plane is either fly into a mountain or dead stick and crash on the ground. is this a problem with all modules or only the F-18? I would like to attach the track file, but it exceed the forums limit.

+1 We need this. I think all are searching for info about what was updated after each patch release. Sent from my E6833 using Tapatalk
