  1. No problem my friend. I just have to remember to add it at startup, no biggie but when the first calls arrived I had to fiddle around until I found the info One quick question while I have you, When I arrived from mission 4 I did my usual break but this time in the Navy way, left hand, 800ft AGL, 350kts and started offset to the right of the runway instead of aligned. I had the tower telling me ''no one was impressed by the fly by, etc ...'' Is that because I did my break starting offset ?
  2. The setup has not changed in anyways here BUT the update. And EDs themselves said they ''fixed'' that thing. I don't see the point of turning mandatory things that I use in DCS just for wasting RL time. If I'm not gonna fly DCS without, why would I try ? Would you try DCS without your HOTAS for the sake of testing ? Probably not because you know it is not a viable solution. At some point they have to stop quibbling and accept that mod brought nothing better but either nothing or worse. Period.
  3. I did one final test though. There is no significant performance difference between the fullscreen box being checked or not in the game options panel. So ... this update brought something that changes nothing for some users and is worse for others. This is what I call a relative failure, or partial failure. ED coders are doing thousands of thousands of code lines and updates are coming regularly. It is an Open Beta so it is not surprising that sometimes, a code or a choice appears not to be satisfying or completely wrong. I'm not mad because it happened ; what pisses me off is that ED has just to acknowledge it is not a good modification and either : - it is needed anyway to move on toward the core optimization, - it is not satisfying and then noted to be looked upon and re-estabilshed in its previous working state in the near future.
  4. Hey there ! I'm at mission 4 and so far this campaign is great. I've one complain but maybe it is an error from my side. All the bulls calls are given from Portal. The coordinates are indeed in the kneeboard but I find strange that the pilot wouldn't include it in the datacard and have it in the waypoints list to check it as A/A reference. Is that a route clarity matter maybe ?
  5. Overclocking the CPU. And nope because those are mandatory. Would you ''just for testing'' unplug your HOTAS ? The setup was working like a charm before the update and what ED brought is causing a performance issue. Period. No quibbling.
  6. Nothing but TrackIr and Ryzen Master. I also have Matric and 2 or 3 export scripts.
  7. As I just said, and after trying Cerberus North Mission 3 I can say it runs worse than it was before that said ''fix''. Not as bad as it was before I tried what was suggested, but still worse. Definitely not an upgrade then ...
  8. It is a 144hz but I keep the native settings at 60 because of problems with TrackIr. I have V-sync enabled and Freesync off. It runs great, no tearing, no stuttering.
  9. Allrighty. So you still use the DCS_updater to launch the game on a daily use ? I tried what you suggested and since I actually wasn't using any scalling at all in the AMD panel (everything is off) I just applied the changes to the .exe (both) Well ... it is merely a victory. It seems to run a little smoother but the FPS counter is still oscillating between 57-61 while it was almost dead locked at 60 with the alt+tab. My guess is that since I have a strong machine I brute force DCS to run at the 60fps ceiling, but it definitely runs less smoother than it was before. I'm almost sure it would have been worse on my previous setup, with the FPS counter all over the place. I runned a custom mission with a chunk of AI flights, tankers, and a good amount of ground units. Starting cold from the ship with 8 AI flights it was easy to notice the before / after behaviour. My conclusion is that it is still running good but the modification made by ED is worse than it was. I can't judge by how much since again, I've a fairly strong machine. I'll try again with DCS Liberation, it sometimes had my PC to blink an eye in certain circumstances. Thank you very much for your time and for the advices you gave
  10. Interesting disovery for me is that the shortcut icon on the desktop is pointing to DCS_updater.exe and not DCS.exe. Which one do you use to launch the game and did you apply the settings on both applications ? What is the pros and cons of using each apps ?
  11. A few months ago I was experiencing the same CTDs in Liberation Dynamic Campaign. I started to suspect the Tomcats and then the fact that too many planes were coming back to Mother at the same time. I re-arranged my missions so that the different flights were coming back with enough time interval. I've never had any CTDs after that. I tried to convince ED guys to investigate in that way but they never took it seriously.
  12. Part of my point is to indeed point out that the problem is not resolved, hence other threads. Though I'm glad to not have to justify myself to you what is necessary or not. You may want to unfollow this thread if you think you don't have to read the following ...
  13. We also take away time for everything else to try to convince them there is a problem with what they did. Add to that, the bugs are also taking time from us of enjoying the game and all the investments we made around DCS. Yes there are multiple posts about this issue because this one has been tagged as having a solution while it clearly has not ...
  14. Oh ok ! Thank you very much. I'll have a look next week
  15. Thanks but why would I need the GPU scaling since I'm playing in the native resolution ?
  16. No problem. I'll first try the settings regarding the DCS.exe file. Sadly with AMD it is best to turn almost every option off. First because the drivers are somewhat unstable from times to times and, Second, DCS relies on a very old code. I expect everything to run better when the new core engine will drop.
  17. Note that I run full AMD, CPU and GPU.
  18. Thanks mate. Will try that and report what I find.
  19. No, it is not. Unless you consider that downgrading the performance is ''properly'' and ''intended'' ...
  20. ED said themselves that they repaired something and that the ''trick'' was no longer needed. In facts, it is still very much needed. So ... simple. Whoever did something regarding this matter should erase what he did and revert back to what it was before. It's so simple to mess with something absolutely vital for a lot of users and then punt the ball back to a third party. Finally, DCS is working on Windows. If there is a problem with Windows ED is responsible to make it work. The question was not that rhetorical though. With the lastest update Windows did blew a few things (regarding master keyboards drivers and other things in that matter) so I suspected Windows first. Then other people said that they rolled back to the previous version of DCS and the alt+enter was working. It is definitely something the guys at ED did and while I respect and praise anyone for constantly pushing it forward, sometimes you have to accept that what you did is not working and revert back. Considering it is a MAJOR performance problem for a lot of users, that subject should, IMO, be in top priority.
  21. Don't bother with that thread fellows. It is flagged as ''fixed'' so no one will look at it here anymore. Sometimes I think, instead of participating in a single thread, we should flood the related bug section just to make them see how bad a problem is ...
  22. Windows did not remove that feature since you can still go full-screen in the console. ED should revert back ASAP since it is making the game running fairly poorer than it was before. I don't understand that move. That trick was working perfectly for years now. They again broke something that was working while other broken things are still up. They really should put more focus on what the community is reporting (and acknowledge bugs instead of trying to find excuses) and fix what THE CUSTOMER wants ... unless that move was part of a greater core optimization. Safe to say ... it actually failed.
  23. At least they should have ask or informed the community before. Maybe they found ''that fix'' while working on something else, since they have their hands under the hood for quite sometime now. After all that is the purpose of a beta build. But DCS is so bugged right now, the experience is getting worse and worse
