  1. What I did is when one unit is shacked, the others will automatically be destroyed in a timed sequence, so wether the AI does its job or not is not a problem anymore. Plus I can add radio callouts and it is a very well working failsafe to not hang the entire mission. The problem I was having was that since the Hornets were engaging "on route" at max range, they were closing on the SAMs and were launching HARMs to targets that were already launched at. By the time the first missile reaches its target, generally 2 more were on their way and then be wasted, like if the different elements of one flight weren't coordinating. I observed the very same behaviour with the Mavericks on Harriers attacking ZSU-23 fixed positions. Note that the mission is set at night but every aircrafts had targetting pods. Anyway I found my way around but i will be looking at what you did since you put time to set it up Thank you.
  2. What I do is to split the flight into different flights. I order the second element to follow the lead flight until a certain point where I can give him specific orders, different routes, etc ... Something I found useful is to actually despawn or spawn different flights if they are out of sight ; it is a great cheat to help the IA to manage the fuel. They act as the same flights but they are indeed not the same, so the in-game radio call-outs may sound weird. For the formation for an escort for example I put the fighters to follow a specific group and then use : Distance : -500 Height : -80 Interval : -500 (if I want them on the left wing) or 500 if I want them on the right wing. Be aware that the follow action s targeted at the leader of the group you want to be followed. So if there are more than one aircraft in that group you'll have to adjust your settings depending on the position of those other aircrafts. But those numbers work well for a tanker formation for example.
  3. Hey there ! I know this wish would imply a massive work but it would be awesome to have some kind of volume slider to manage the volume of the sounds we add into a mission. Right now it is a bit of trial and error within a DAW to increase or reduce the volume of a particular file and then deal with an ogg converter. That is MASSIVELY time consuming. Or maybe someone has figured a more effective way to achieve volume corrections ? Thanks
  4. Tbh honest I just gave up and set up automatic destruction sequence. I'm tired of spending most of my time figuring workarounds than building up missions. Just try it yourself. Put a SA-11, SA-6 and OSA-8 and make a flight of 4 Hornets to engage the SAMs with HARMs.
  5. Silly question here maybe, but when you have your stick and pedals re-centered after a trim, Aren't they coming to the neutral position if you press force-trim again ? Or do you have to ''aim'' for the virtual position and then bring it back to neutral ?
  6. I followed what you've done and it works like a charm ! Merci camarade ! Tu es sur le groupe Facebook DCS World FR ?
  7. Hey there ! In a mission I'm building I want my leader, an AI Viper to ge to the tanker, refuel and then form-up in the spotting area beside the tanker. Everything is going well until he finished refuelling. He rejoins with the tanker, When he's in the tankers mobile zone, a trigger action ''refuelling'' is set and it works. But he's done, he's going RTB. I have another follow action set at the AAR waypoint but I guess the triggered action refueling breaks it. But I don't understand why he's going home since we have 3 more waypoints after that. I would have expected him to at least go to the next waypoint. I have a radio trigger set ''refuel complete'' so when I'm done and formed-up with him, I use F-10 menu and we go to the next waypoint. Can someone tell me how to make him follow the tanker again when he's done his AAR ? Thx !
  8. Hey guys ! For those AMD goodies to work, do you have to launch the game from the Radeon Adrenalin software or is it working in the background ?
  9. Works like a charm when deleting the CAS task. Thank you very much my friend !
  10. Ok, I'll try that then. I'll delete CAS task. And if I get what you are saying, all of the tasks should be set on waypoint 0 for the wingman to be considered, right ? Merci camarade
  11. In the ME, my flight has the "SAM" group (which consist of 4x ZSU23 and the OSA-8) and designated target + only designated ROE. For those tracks I purposely kept all the triggers in place, that part of the mission is supposed to happen way later. I just edited our starting position near our Fence In point. Normally, we make our runs after the SA-6, OSA-8 and SA-11 have been disabled by a dedicated SEAD flight. In this case, the wingman is usually targetting the Su-34 on the taxiway. All in all, he never engages the AAA positions. I thought the GBU-12 were working but it may have been a lucky shot when it happened. So basically, he ignores his orders. Note that in the JDAM run, he drops his bombs and then engage the SA-11 with the gun ...
  12. There is the wingman attack run withe the GBU-12 and guess what, he ignored its designated target to attack the SA-6. Wingman GBU-12.trk And now the JDAM run, same thing. He attacked the SA-11 and the OSA-8. Wingman JDAM.trk
  13. Hi there ! On my mission my flight is tasking of engaging AAA sites. I have a trigger ''engage en route'' to attack that particular group (and only this one) + ROE to ''only designated''. That way I would expect to give him the order ''engage primary and rejoin'' for him to drop his JDAMs before I come for a 64D run if needed. He goes in and just attack other targets. I cannot order him to engage Air Defences because there are other inactive SA-6 launchers and he will attack them. He has 4x GBU-38 JDAMs. If I get him 4x GBU-12, it works. Any thoughts ?
  14. Still present ! What's the point of that thing ?
  15. Hi ! I'd like to set up a trigger for a specific flight to call ''Magnum'' when they fire an HARM (and apply this to other brevities) and report when a specific target is destroyed. How should I proceed ? I'm not talking about my wingmen but other AI flights. I tried the radio options but it does not work. (Flight is 4x F/A-18C Lot 20) Thx
  16. My mission will be to long to be practical for you. I'll have to set up a new quick flight. In the meantime, if you want to try out yourself : - set up a flight of 4, - in the ME, define something as a primary target with the command ''engage on-route'' - in the air, give the order to 3 using the radio menu (I don't use easy comms) You'll see that 3 will go along and 4 stay in formation. Now if you tell 3 to rejoin, 4 will go gate and rejoin with 3 and then both will come back to you. Same if you give the order to RTB. 4 will follow 3. I don't mind having 4 following his sub-leader but it needs to stay consistent AND/OR being able to give him orders directly. Finally, blow up 3 and 4 will follow you but you won't be able to give him orders apart of going flight orders and then call back 2.
  17. Both. They do not coordinate when using stand-off weapons, resulting in HARMs being lost of Mavs hitting the same spot multiple times.
  18. Nope, sorry .. The .miz is superor than 5MB so I cannot post it here.
  19. Hi It would be great to have the AI assets (wingmen and other flights) to have some target distribution and coordination IN THE SAME FLIGHT when running in. If you send them attacking a zone with multiple designated groups, they'll often lose some missiles (Mavs and HARMs) because while one plane has launched on something and the missile is travelling, another plane detects the target (with any sensor) and engage. You'll see quite a lot of HARMs passing over their intented target or Mavs impacting 2 or 3 times on the same spot. It's not a saturation thing because if for some reason you get the timing right using the radio menu (play with ''engage primary'', ''rejoin'' and using the F-10 view) you can get them to attack the targets more or less correctly. But if for any reason some planes of the same flight are running in at the same moment, some targets will get engaged multiple times by different units. Note that what I expect is coordination of assets in the same flight. Of course coordination between different flights is a matter or triggers and that is not the problem. The big problem is coordination between wingmen inside a particular flight. Thanks.
  20. Note that wingmen do not coordinate when engaging SAMs. So if you send the whole flight using -engage primary and rejoin- so missiles will go to the same targets. Some 88s will end up thrashed because one wingman will fire at something and during the flight time of the missile, another wingman will get spiked by that target and fire at it also. You'll have to get the timing right by yourself using the radio menu and F-10 to monitor what they are doing.
  21. Add to that that if #3 gets shot down you cannot issue any order to #4 individually. He won't become #3 and so the only way to issue order is to order something to the whole flight.
  22. Hey there ! I think there is a logic problem in the orders you can give to the second element of a flight of 4 ships. In most cases, #4 will follow #3 (like RTB, route or tanker orders) but he won't for engagment orders. When you give #3 the order to engage air defenses, he will set up his run but #4 will stay in formation (and move to #3 spot in the formation) And since you cannot give him the order directly, well, he's useless. And when you order #3 to rejoin, #4 will break the formation, rejoin on #3 (with full burner) and then both will join up on lead. I like the idea of having orders to pass on the second element only (not each wingman) but this need to be consistent on all orders. Thx
