I am starting to run out of room on my C drive and thinking about purchasing and installing a 1 TB SSD drive for just DCS. When I move my DCS over, how do I bring my logbook and other stuff with it? I don't know where to post this to get the most replies and help. I hope this is the correct forum. Patiently Waiting, Wayne

Thanks for your words of wisdom. I am keeping it "as is" and enjoy what I have. I was looking at upgrading the other parts of my DCS tower, purchased back in Aug 2013, but when I noticed the large boost in FPS after the move to ver 2.7, I asked my self why? I had lots of headaches when I had it slightly OC'ed for a bit and when I removed it, on the advice from someone here, it went back to working normally. My tower is currently an Alienware with an Intel iCore7 3820 3.5G(boosted to 4.2G), 16GB RAM, with the new video board mentioned above installed last year when they were released. I had to upgrade my power supply as the original one did not have the power plug required for the new video board. I didn't see enough of a gain to go with the RTX 2080 with 11GB of video RAM to spend the extra money. The video board that came with the tower was an Nvidia GTX 660 and I was seeing in the low 30 FPS. After lots of research and I decided the best bang for my buck was the video board that I bought, looks like I lucked in on this decision. Thanks Again, Happy Flyin' Wayne

I had CTD issues after installing my new EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX2070 Super XC Ultra, applied some moderate overclocking and found out that OC was causing the issue. After switching back to running stock settings DCS has been golden. I was seeing in the mid 30's FPS before we moved to version 2.7 and now I see 60's and 70's FPS with no other changes to my system. I bought this board so that I could overclock it and see better numbers in my FPS, but can't do that as DCS doesn't like it. Can I start to play with settings or just leave it alone and enjoy what I have? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am updating the software now as I just checked for updates and noticed that I have missed a number of them. Thanks, Wayne

JDAM Programming - Not Able To Select Weapon Station
hrnet940 replied to hrnet940's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Thanks guys for the information. I played with it and have it working. I just flew the mission and dropped the four weapons on four different targets on the first pass. All four hit their targets. Cheers, Wayne -
I am having an issue selecting a different station for JDAM. In this mission I created I have 4 x GBU-31 on stations 2,3,7, and 8. I can only program on the ground to one station, number 7 by default. When I switch to other stations to program the next JDAM the first mission PP is crossed out. If I leave the STEP button alone than I can program all of the mission PP's and all seems good. After I get airborne and ready to drop the weapons on their intended targets I can only drop the first weapon. This GBU-31 hits the intended target perfectly. After it leaves the jet all of the other PP's cross out and I am not able to select a different station. I watched and followed this YouTube video from Spudknocker. I am confident that I am following all of his steps, but not getting the same results. I forgot to save and attach the flight video after I exited the mission. I will remember to save and attach the file sometime today or tomorrow. Cheers, Wayne

Thanks. I had this on my 'To Do' list and see that someone beat me to it. Cheers, Wayne

Thanks for that information. I just started using DCS back when they had released the pre-order for their F/A/18C Hornet, early 2018. Cheers, Wayne

I hope this is the correct place for this to be. How can I change ATC to hear knots per hour as appose to meters per second? I have been in a number of real aircraft listening to ATC on approach and it is ALWAYS given as knots per hour, never meters per second. All aircraft wind limitations are in knots per hour. Cheers, Wayne

True. Realism for in-cockpit. Wayne

I too have been experiencing crashes on exit from mission. I haven't tried anything yet, but might later on today. Outside to get some yard work done before it gets too hot. I will try a few things later today and report them back here after. Wayne

Do you have resistors installed on your LED's? If so, bump up the value to reduce the intensity and brightness of the LED's. Wayne

EMERG/PARK Brake Handle Operation
hrnet940 replied to hrnet940's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
What are other people doing that have full cockpit mock ups with the Brakes handle in the F/A-18C Hornet cockpit? Someone over on Github just told me that this is an issue with no fix and probably won't have one anytime soon. I have the same switch setup for my Wing Fold handle and it works every single time. Any help will be very greatly appreciated. I DON'T want to use my mouse or keyboard during any aspect of my F/A-18C Hornet flight. Thanks, Wayne -

I am having an issue getting the EMERG/PARK Brake Handle to work with two switches running through DCS BIOS. This is how I currently have it setup, but I can't get it to move from PARK back to EMERG after it is there. This is what I am using: const byte emergencyParkingBrakeRotatePins[3] = {51, 53}; DcsBios::SwitchMultiPos emergencyParkingBrakeRotate("EMERGENCY_PARKING_BRAKE_ROTATE", emergencyParkingBrakeRotatePins, 3); DcsBios::Switch2Pos emergencyParkingBrakePull("EMERGENCY_PARKING_BRAKE_PULL", 52); I get the same response if I just use the two position switch option. It will move up and down and it will rotate from EMERG to PARK until I get it pulled and set to PARK than it won't move at all. I am finding this strange. Thanks, Wayne

What has happened to some of our required buttons? I can't use PRINT SCREEN to take pictures of the amazing clouds or me refueling anymore? Someone already mentioned that the PAUSE is not working either. What happened Eagle Dynamics? Where are those functions? Wayne

I found this problem too!

I have been wondering about these changes too, but thought I was pipe dreaming for us Canadians that like to hoop into our beloved hornet and fly it!!! I was posted to CFB Cold Lake for a short four years, but enjoyed them immensely while there. It would be nice to have CLAWR brought into DCS Maps, but answered and NOT happening (BUMMER). Looking for some help on purchasing a new wired headset. I want a wired headset to eliminate the need to charge it and I have had it die on me while flying, not cool. Also, it works with my TrackIR cable. My current headset is the TM T-Flight US Air Force and the mic stopped working one day months ago. I have been using my webcam mic since and I need a proper headset mic that won't quite on me. I have been looking at this one. Sennheiser GSP 600 – Wired Closed Acoustic Gaming Headset, Noise-Cancelling Microphone, Adjustable Headband with Customizable Contact Pressure, Volume Control, PC + Mac + Xbox + PS4, Pro – Black/Red I found it on Amazon Canada for $200 CDN and feel that it is a good price. What are others using and why? Does anyone know how to disassemble the TM T-Flight and see about fixing it as a possible back up? Thanks, Wayne

Would this be a possibility given that we have Canadian skins and perform night intercepts? Thanks, Wayne Flies Cdn CAF Hornets

I hope this is the correct place to bring this issue up. I programmed one of my F/A-18C cockpit switches to operate the LST/NFLR switch using DCS BIOS and my Elegoo Mega 2560 board (pin 2); when I am in the sim it operates the FLIR switch. Every time that I cycle the OFF-ON switch it moves the FLIR switch from OFF to STBY to ON then stops. I have included both the DCS BIOS control input section along with my Arduino sketch to see if it is my issue or a DCS BIOS issue. Everything else is working flawlessly. Thanks again to those that created the DCS BIOS program. Thanks, Wayne

Just wondering if the bleed air switch should rotate 360 degrees without any stops in both directions? I had initially hooked up a four position switch and it did some really funky stuff that I couldn't get controlled to work properly, so I now have a rotary encoder and it works way better. When I go to cycle the switch after starting the right engine it will not rotate a full 360 degrees in either direction, it stops at "OFF" when rotating CCW and "ROFF" on CW. Is this normal? I can fully rotate it with the mouse with no issues. Thanks, Wayne

They are working on this one. Just another option if you are looking at buying instead of making. https://vipergear.eu/vipergear-f-a-18c-ufc/ Cheers, Wayne

Take it for what it's worth. It is still in Early Access and they are still working hard to get things better with every update. I have been flying the Hornet since it was released to the general public and enjoy flying it. I don't even touch any other flight sims like Lockheed Martins P3D, it just doesn't feel like this does and is no where close to the complexity or requirement to fly lots to work on getting things and systems figured out. Just my two cents. Wayne
