  1. Given the diminished size of an already small team, I doubt they'll want to spend or even have the money for fixing a product they already considered "shipped".
  2. For reference
  3. Another update released, textures still broken.
  4. Viggen is still listed as in Early Access and has yet to receive its 3 campaigns.
  5. No it isn't. They have clear definitions and impact the plane's performance. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/505/ It goes PFM > AFM+ > AFM > SFM. EFM just means "not built in-house" and quality can range from PFM to SFM, but reduces the odds of having a PFM due to full SDK access issues.
  6. https://www.facebook.com/PolychopSimulations/posts/1745167662455549 In the comments of Polychop's post. The Z variant of the AH-1 also forbidden: They say the Apache is "not available for 3rd parties". Doesn't necessarily mean is planned for 1st party.
  7. https://www.facebook.com/PolychopSimulations/posts/1745167662455549 Counted all the votes in the FB page. AH-1W 186 UH-60M 110 OH-58D 52 CH-53 53 EC665 56 CH-47F 73 T129 43 Though if the AH1 proves unviable for licensing reasons, I imagine the Tiger might pick up a lot of votes.
  8. Some form of Early Access by Christmas (calling it for Dec 1st) is a certainty. No way would they want to miss out on that rush.
  9. If ED ever wanted to do a proof-of-concept for ground based modules, the Humvee would probably be the most inexpensive option. You could make a clickable cockpit out of its various levers, buttons, adjustable mirrors and radio. Not to mention clicking on the cover release switch and the bolt for the M2, or clicking the TOW control buttons like in Steel Beasts. I'm assuming the ground class can't have a clickable cockpit, but I have "driven" the Ka-50 down roads and the Harrier is adding a new 4-point bogey contact system, so if you made a wingless plane it could function that way. There is the issue of whether the engine is adept enough to provide a functional environment for it. Trees are still an issue, as the crude collision boxes in 2.0 are only sufficient for air combat. I haven't checked if buildings block the AI's line of sight. I do think you could make some good convoy, transport, and patrol missions, but you'd have to be very controlling of the scenario to make it work.
  10. Just to confirm, they can't be opened in the editor period or they can't be saved after changing? I don't mind if my progress isn't tracked and I have to launch from the editor every time.
  11. Campaign gets a lot of praise, but I'm no fan of the F86 or Mig15 and have no desire to buy both. If I open the campaign missions and replace the F86s & Mig15s with F5s & Mig21s will that break anything aside from the difficulty? Will the campaign download and activate without its intended planes present?
  12. It's a must have for prop planes, otherwise you're stuck with using ZU-23s for AAA. Prop campaigns will use both.
  13. New update released. Textures still not fixed. One of the civilian yachts has all its textures missing, not just glass.
  14. I bought the Mig21 in the sale and I'm running into a lot of problems trying to bind controls in a way that matches the other modules. When this module was released it was one of the first 3rd party ones done and there was no consensus on how to handle common controls. But now the lack of toggleable switches, the blocks are assigning joypad buttons to actions, the divergence in naming conventions of standard controls like the camera, and many other things are acting as a barrier to entry. Can you work to update it so it's on par with other DCS modules?
  15. Check the User Files section of the main site. There are a few like the Gripen and Su-57, but they are heavily incomplete and most older mods are outdated and no longer work properly.
  16. Yep, been there since Summer and still not fixed.
  17. Not flawless but found this handy in keeping track of what's out there and what to put on my wishlist of planes. https://imgur.com/a/zFBQE Fighter, attack, recon, bomber, EW, transport, maritime, X-plane, and helicopter images at the link.
  18. What? No, it demonstrably does not. It requires significant warping of the geometry that would look completely borked to anyone not in the position as the person being tracked. The result is the same as full stereoscopic 3D.
  19. The technique had a surge in interest back when Kinect was released. Tracking a user's head orientation and position combined with warping the geometry being rendered creates a pseudo-3D effect. It would improve judging aiming and landings due to depth perception as VR players can attest to. Given that TrackIR is most popular amongst simmers there might be a large enough population of those not yet converted to DCS to make it worthwhile. Not to mention the flurry of press coverage you'd get, and with a tech that does well in video form. Tech seems to be low latency going by the video. Also works with web cams.
  20. Man, a chin gun is a key part of the "gunship" experience. A fixed cannon and it'll be like another airplane.
  21. Training in Caucasus Campaign in NTTR
  22. I think it might be an asset pack, given that on the deck of one of the carriers they showed a bunch of other units like Snatches and Ospreys. Though that might have been for scale? Then again, a plane module that comes with a smattering of bonus AI units would be a nice competitive edge.
  23. Fingers crossed that they're doing 2 flash sales over 2 weekends in place of an Autumn sale. Viggen, Mig21 and L-39 are on my to-buy list and I needs at least one of them.
  24. https://digitalcombatsimulator.000webhostapp.com/getting-started I predict next weekend is the Autumn sale.
  25. I bought the FC3 pack recently and decided to uninstall the stand-alone F-15 I'd bought before. I de-activated the F-15 starforce key and it said I had 9 de-activations left. To check if like other activation limited software (e.g. GTAV) it restores an activation if you de-activate it, I activated it again and it said I had 9 activations left. I then de-activated to see if the de-activation number had also gone up by 1 and it said I had 8 de-activations left. What the hell?
