  1. When I installed the Tools latest versions for 2017 it caused 3dsmax to crash on startup. Had to do a fresh install of it. Additionally, when I use the Tools uninstall from Add/Remove Programs it always leaves an entry even after install and Windows has to delete it for me. Tested on multiple versions.
  2. What you got against girls? Should women not play DCS?
  3. mmm, it's not a good look that within 24 hours of announcement your launch product has completely changed, presumably along with all the planning for the future months and months of development.
  4. Last update was in November saying they were aiming at a Q1 release with it and the main Viggen campaign. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3307123&postcount=3 Anything to report since then?
  5. Was BD's new Mirage campaign number 4? Waiting on ED to post the trailer would explain the slight delay.
  6. What are the (rough) timelines for those reveals? Are we talking end-of-the-day or much later?
  7. Beta updates are really unstable, with whole swaths of functionality taken out seemingly on the flip of a coin. But stable updates are so few and far between that you'd need to have the patience of a saint to stick with it whilst everyone show's off their J-11s and raindrops.
  8. Here's the interview you posted 1 month ago: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3465510&postcount=1 When you announce 4 aircraft are being added to FC3, of course people are going to speculate what they are. People did speculate. For a whole month. If you had communicated the FC4 expansion properly, instead of this fragmented Chinese whispers nonsense, then expectations would have been managed. These are basic PR skills. And that false dichotomy of "communication or silence" is laughably transparent.
  9. Please don't blame the consumers for your poor communication.
  10. Whilst I'm sure the expansion will appeal to many new players, I don't think you can expect anyone into DCS enough that they follow development on these forums to be excited over development spent on a downgrade of existing modules.
  11. Cue outrage. :music_whistling: DCS offers plenty of non-sim options such as magic map, labels, infinite weapons, etc. Is your identity as an armchair pilot ("the mind of a Simmer!") so threatened by the idea of other players having the option to make the game more forgiving that you have to pretend that it's a choice between 100% real-life or CoD-style arcade? This is a consumer product. Its end-state is to give the user as much enjoyment as possible.
  12. Having recently played Il-2, I was surprised by how well integrated its non-sim options were. Most flight sims only have the option to turn a few values to infinity with no regard if the game's still fun after. Case in point, if you're hit in DCS you have the choice of invulnerability (zero fun), mission fail (the hardcore's choice), or respawning from mission start. Nothing kills my enjoyment more then taking a hit during a mission, hitting respawn, and finding myself 50 miles away from the action with my engines cold. The majority of any playtime is going to be travel time. And for planes like the Viggen, their missions are centered around sneaking into enemy territory for a long time before you have 2 minutes of make-or-break combat. How many pieces of consumer entertainment can wipe out the user's last 30 minutes of progress based on a button press at the wrong time and expect them to come back for more? The issue is exacerbated due to hits usually resulting in binary states of "fine" or "critically damaged" due to jets being so combustible. I think either an option that reduces all player damage taken to 1/5 of its value, or the ability to respawn near the point where you died would go a long way to keeping newbie players around. In b4 outrage that a completely optional choice no one is forced to use that lessens the difficulty could be added.
  13. Still no change.
  14. Every other module managed to incorporate them for the beta launch. It's a rather visible representation of the Mig 21's status.
  15. Really should update it to the prettier 2.5 ones.
  16. A follow-up question, as not all my components will arrive at the same time: Does changing the graphics card trigger the DRM? Does changing the RAM trigger the DRM? Thanks. edit: educating myself: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2483356#post2483356 Does the Mig-21 still have the RAM issue? Do any of the other since released modules have similar issues?
  17. Getting new CPU, GPU, and Mobo. Should I deactivate all my modules beforehand or leave as is? Thanks.
  18. uh, actually I never claimed the price had increased to a price it had never previously seen, only that for the last few years its max price has been $20 non-discounted, and therefore contrary to what you were saying, the price had increased. It's a bad look for a mod to lie to save face.
  19. No solution in the latest hotfix. Are we really going to have to wait a week for a fix at the earliest?
  20. It doesn't matter, ED would never allow it. You could easily whip up a map based on procedurally-generate heightmap and biome data. Boom, arctic map, desert map, coastal map, forest map, etc, all done. Suddenly a lot harder to sell the real-life location maps.
  21. And? The full price has dropped to $20 as demonstrated by DCS's own store page. It will now increase to $40. One price point in the distant past means nothing. Do you think Arma/Mass Effect 1/Crysis/whatever going from £40 to £7 means they've been running a decade long sale or that a return to their launch RRPs wouldn't count as a price hike? Because a mod was spreading misinformation by claiming it wasn't a price increase, despite all evidence to the contrary. Great argument, way to engage. Why so desperate to defend a company's products? Are you under the misapprehension that because they make a game you enjoy that they're your buddies?
  22. So the price increased $20. And it wasn't a discount, the full price was $20, hence why in a sale it was discounted to $10. No original price on display with strike-through text and a discounted price below, bonus points still in effect. In the UK we even have a law saying a product has to use its most common price point to prevent unscrupulous sellers claiming a product has been discounted down from a higher price point to entice more buyers. Then on SteamDB we have the price history $20 price clearly marked as "no discount". Steam CMS & advertising rules means all discounts have to be clearly marked, and if you go to the CA page right now - full non-discounted price listed as $20.
  23. Why so defensive? I'm trying to see if the price has been increased or not. Just because at one point in time it was $40 doesn't mean it's always been that way. For the last year, it's full non-discounted price has been $19.99. It will now cost $39.99. That's a 100% price increase. If PS3s suddenly returned to their $599 price points do you think that would not be considered a price increase?
  24. I'm confused about the last newsletter: A mod locked the CA thread saying the price hadn't increased. But in July 2017 I bought CA for $10 at a 50% discount. I browsed the eShop page often and I'm certain it was sold at $20 for the past year.
  25. If you purchased during a sale then you won't receive bonus points, but you will save more money overall.
