  1. Thanks, dburne. I’ll double check vsync. How do I disable the E cores? Thanks.
  2. Update: steamVR seems to run normally, if I launch it from within the varjo base menu tool. However, the stutter is still there.
  3. Are the instructions in the OP out of date now? I got a new rig with a 4090 and I'm having some problems. First, when I run Varjo Base, it starts SteamVR which appears to be running (ie. in the steam library it is green and it says "running"), but the VR button at the top of the steam window is white indicating that SteamVR is not running. If I click it, I get an error message saying that the app is already running. If I shut down the varjo base, when I click the SteamVR button, it appears to load, but I get an error that I cannot connect to the headset. I did not have any of these problems on my 3080TI system. The Aero is also stuttering. I get a very noticeable stutter on the desktop in the Varjo workstation, and I also have it in DCS at the menu screen and in flight. FPS is great at 90+/-, but that stuttering is a killer. What am I missing? Thanks. Update: steamVR seems to run normally, if I launch it from within the varjo base menu tool. However, the stutter is still there.
  4. I just set up a new rig with a 4090 and I am still having this problem with stuttering. Varjo Base is current at 3.7.2.13. The stuttering occurs on the desktop workplace, in game at the menu screen and in flight. FPS is great around 90+/- but the stuttering is ever present and a killer. Any ideas? Thanks.
  5. It’s amazing how fast some of you are receiving these.
  6. There they go using that word "imminent" again. In DCS-speak, that could mean anything from 2 weeks to 2 months.
  7. Boooooooo....
  8. My FPS is solid. I almost never drop below 50 and typically fly in the high 60s to mid 70s+. However, since the last update, I now have a strange stutter when I move my head, but it only lasts for a minute or two after the mission has loaded and then it disappears. Any thoughts on what could cause this temporary issue? it is strange because even when it is stuttering, my FPS is still well above 50 and it is only noticeable when I move my head, so I do not think it is performance issue or bottleneck with settings. Thanks! EDIT: stupid follow up question, does steamvr need to be running in order for the base stations to track the headset? If not, this could be the source of my problem, as I’m running in openxr, but still have steamvr running, which seems to defeat the purpose. EDIT2: Wow, that's embarrassing. Upon testing, I see that SteamVR does not need to run in order for the Aero to track the base stations. Shutting down SteamVR has yielded favorable results on the stuttering issue. Sorry I sound like a noob. I'm coming from a G2 which did not require base stations, although, I also have a Pimax 8KX, which does, although that headset tracks through the Pitool. I come from the school of thought that has the philosophy of avoiding SteamVR at all costs.
  9. It appears to have been the swap top and bottom image distortion problem that was solved by running the WMR debug tool. I don't know why this was necessary all of a sudden since I've been using the Aero for awhile without this issue. Weird.
  10. Strange new problem since the update today. Image and performance are still good, but there is some strange distortion when I move my head that is very difficult to describe. Its almost like the image itself is slightly moving. It is subtle, but very disorienting. I re-installed the open composite files. No other changes. Sorry if I'm not explaining the problem well, but I'm not sure how to describe it. Anyone else having issues since the update?
  11. I think I worked around whatever the issue was by switching to openXR. The problem now is that although I am getting steady FPS above 45, there is a strange stutter. What could be causing that? i did not have that with openXR and my Reverb G2. Thanks for all the help.
  12. So I added the force Steam VR command and this did, in fact, solve the dual cursor/4 desktop windows issue, so thank you. However, it also tanked my performance and I'm now getting like 15 FPS +/-. Obviously, something else is wrong. I've looked into the cross-eye issue, but I do not have the autoexec.cfg. I tried creating one as indicated in the thread you linked, but I must be doing it wrong because when I load DCS, the debug tool does not appear. Please help....this is starting to get frustrating. Thanks.
  13. I found this thread, which seems to have some possible solutions: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/296619-varjo-aero-dcs-updates-causing-strange-issues/ Have not had the chance to try it out yet.
  14. The double cursor with the 4 desktop windows issue.
  15. Yes! Thanks again for all your candor, time and troubleshooting the other night. I greatly appreciate it. I know that it probably is not a common issue, but maybe it’s worth mentioning in an FAQ somewhere that certain button box type peripherals may cause a conflict resulting in a malfunction in the APBs. It seems once you had that information, it got us onto the right track almost instantly. I still have not had the chance to update the tek creations firmware, but I will report back and let you know if that ultimately resolves the conflict. Thanks again, Miles. Pointctrl is a great addition to my sim experience. S/F
  16. I just set up my new Aero and I have this exact issue. Did you guys get it resolved and if so, how? Thanks.
  17. Yeah..."imminent" seems to be a word that ED, and now some third-party developers, like to casually throw around. It instantly sets expectations that, often times, go unfulfilled. Imminent is defined as "likely to occur at any moment..." That does not convey a message of weeks or months, which in the past, has actually been the subsequent wait after notice had been published of an "imminent" release. Why use such terminology and risk setting such expectations? I think if there is one thing that ED could improve on in terms of its communication, it is communicating more clearly and managing the expectations of its loyal fans who are all well meaning and eager to get hands on new and shiny modules!
  18. Thanks. Yes, Miles is in the woods camping, but he did get in touch…. …and for what it is worth, I’ve been following your issue regarding the Varjo Aero. Mine just arrived last week, but I was away and have not had the chance to fire it up yet. Have you posted your overall impressions anywhere? Any tips?
  19. Thanks, dburne. I was able to get the firmware updated through the manual method. But now, still no dice on the APBs. I'm getting no obvious sign of functionality and they are not appearing in my device list in the DCS control settings in game. After waiting over a year and half for these, I must say its off to a rocky start.
  20. Can anyone please give me some advice and assistance on how to update the firmware? I'm trying to get help in the discord channel, but it is surprisingly not very active. I've tried both auto and manual updating. In auto, I press the left rest button twice and after the first windows chime I wait 2-3 seconds before pressing a key on the keyboard and the update window just disappears. I've tried different keys and different time intervals and the window always just disappears. In manual, I've opened the device manager and in the view tab, selected show hidden devices. I then view the Ports and double click the left reset button and no Arduino Lilypad device appears. What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to get my APBs to work and apparently the latest firmware update makes them appear in the DCS controller settings like any other device. Thanks.
  21. I personally think it was a wise decision. PMC's are apolitical and so they do not run the risk of offending anyone. One of the reasons why the JF-17 is one of the less popular aircraft modules most likely has to do with the fact that Pakistan is the only country that actually operates it and many do not find appeal in flying for the the PAF. Personally, i think the PMC approach is smart, not only from the developer's standpoint, but for DCS and Deka Ironworks, as it may possibly bring more pilots into the JF-17 cockpit, which I think is long overdue. It is a neat little aircraft that deserves some more showtime. I'm hoping for some more feedback on the missions, particularly the complexity of them, as I don't spend too much time flying this aircraft either, before I make the purchase. So, I would be more interested in your feedback of the actual missions and campaign overall, rather than your initial disappointment based on your own personal biases (which I understand, by the way, and do not intend to belittle). That being said, I'm glad someone made a campaign for this aircraft and I wish the developer success.
  22. as a casual observer, you seem to have that problem a lot. I like your posts, but try to lighten up and not be so hostile. At a minimum, since you don’t have a sense of humor, at least give others the benefit of the doubt.
  23. Yes. I'm about a month and a half out from the last dates posted and he is doing about five days at a time every 7 to 14 days approximately. At that rate, it could still be anywhere from 3 to 6 months. lol
  24. ^Nice Bronco...I don't even want to ask what you paid.
  25. ^yes. I understand it’s a one man operation, but at what, $200+ an order and with hundreds if not thousands of orders, like, hire some help. I went into this with eyes wide open to the fact that it would be more than the 60 days that was indicated on my pre-order, but over a year? At some point, you have to make an effort to get these things out faster. I mean, I’ve been through two VR headsets since I placed my order.
