[NO BUG] KA50 not rearming/refueling when engine running
ams999 replied to notproplayer3's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Are you on intercom? If not, you need to switch to that.. Radio selection fully right. -
Cool, you're welcome! :)
-
BTW, if you want to get rid of the US insignia of the crew in your RNZAF helo you could change {"pilot_UH1_patch", 0, "pilot_UH1_patch_1_cavalery", true}; to {"pilot_UH1_patch", 0, "empty", true}; and add {"gunner_UH1_patch", 0, "empty", true}; You might need to 'rearm' the gunners for the patches to vanish (depending if you spawn in this skin or change it from another one that has patches on the gunners). If you find some RZNAF insignia you could also use those instead but you'd need to modify the appropriate textures.
-
Try this, it works for me. Edit: I have now removed the US insignia from the crew, if you want those back, see below (just do the opposite ;) )
-
If that's the case, could you make screenshots like I did here, please: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3955503&postcount=30 and also state what card you have, which driver version, and what your settings are in DCS and Nvidia? So far, everyone with an Nvidia has said 'Not the case with me' so we surmised it might be AMD related.
-
Not sure how to answer. Did you even read my post in the other thread? You are stating pretty much what I wrote there. The point of interest is at the moment, and I'm quoting that other post: "This is to check if it is really AMD related. Nvidia cards don't seem to be affected." For that we have to see whether other AMD cards show this, too, and not just mine. People who tested this with Nvidia cards didn't see it like this.
-
Also: - do try the second post, i.e. just download the file at the end of that post and replace the original file. Make a backup before if you don't like it (or run a repair, then it'll get replaced again with the original) or use something like OvGME for it. It won't trip the integrity check (IC). - if you want to use the skin for more countries than just "USA" you can just remove the line countries = {"USA"} and use the skin for any country
-
Did you do the first step in the first post? 1. look for texture files called *.bmp.dds or *.tga.dds and rename them to *.dds In your case: /RNZAF/uh1-UN_cover.bmp.dds --> /RNZAF/uh1-UN_cover.dds
-
For the missing textures try https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3739164&postcount=5 If you think the skin is too shiny (I would) try https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=233411

Please don't mind if you find anything mod related in the pictures, we went through pretty much everything including stock settings and Gazelle reinstall. These pics were made before that. I also tried disabling all settings in the AMD drivers I could find, unfortunately without making a difference. If you see the same effect as in the pictures and find a setting to solve this please post. Thanks!

Shadows Flat Only seem to work OK, so please test with low, medium, or high! Examples: 1. Shadows flat 2. Shadows high

Did some tests with DrummerNL, this might be graphics card related (AMD cards) See my post in the other thread and if this applies to you, please answer there. Thanks! OK, this might actually be graphics card related. Thank you DrummerNL for the tests! Could people with AMD cards test shadow settings (low, medium, or high) and see if the Gazelle's cockpit glass casts a complete shadow, making the cockpit dark? This is to check if it is really AMD related. Nvidia cards don't seem to be affected. Thanks! Examples: 1. Shadows off, cockpit lighting is OK 2. Shadows high, same position, cockpit is dark 3. Even if you turn, no sun light gets into the cockpit through the windows (only if you hit the open sliding window at the right angle)

Reading around here I got the impression there are three schools of flying the Ka-50 in DCS: 1. Switch off the autopilot channels. 2. Use the flight director mode (which is what I'm doing) 3. Fly with the autopilot (and depress the trim button until you've found the position you like) There probably are even more :) Different strokes for different folks... I didn't like to fly it with autopilot, and also not quite without (does autohover work then?). Flight director mode is a good compromise for me. PS Welcome back to the Ka-50, I'm looking forward to the update!

The problem isn't the black of the console/interior itself. That is fine as it's supposed to be anti-glare as the Gazelle's cockpit is mostly made of translucent material so it's a pretty bright cockpit in real life. The problem is that at the moment, almost everything casts a complete shadow, even the glass, which makes the cockpit very dark. Two shots as a comparison, first with Shadows on High, second with Shadows off (which then is fine).

Just to be clear: don't only close the red cover, this does not switch off the right pylon. Notice the green lights beneath the pylon switches - if both pylons are switched on only the right light is on in the L-version - if you close the right cover the right light still is on - only if you flip the right switch to off does the right light go out and the left one lights up. Then you can fire rockets.
-
If you can still fire the cannon, you haven't switched it off.
-
Look for "Button Targeting mode reset"
-
Maybe the third pylon could only be shown when Iglas are loaded. Then you'd remove (set to 0) Iglas on the server so they can't be rearmed and should be done.

Thank you! This is what it looks to me (PG, 10 o'clock). It looks better if the sun shines on it directly (but I nearly crashed taking that picture ;) ) but as soon as there is shadow again it gets dark. Gamma is at 2.4. I also don't have those light gray areas of yours (e.g. the light holder), not sure why.

How well can you see the formation light switch? Don't see it shown in your video.
