  1. The 'P' key can move the switch to all positions. I think you need to re-arm only to re-pack the chute. I don't think fuel only will do it (different mechanism inside DCS). Obviously re-arming AND re-fueling will work.
  2. TOA? Time Of Acceleration?
  3. Yes, and it looks awesome!!
  4. ^ This. The LD-10 is a latest generation ARM. It can even target emitters such as AWACS and other aircraft (if their RADARs are on). AFAIK AGM-88 can't do this (it must recognize the emitter to hit it). LD-10 is basically "5th gen ARM" with all that entails. It can fly to a steerpoint and search; it can target an actively targetting emitter, or it can fly in a straight line until it sees something of interest. It has seek-and-store capability, meaning it can fly with zero targets, see something, look at it, remember the position, then guide there inertially. I'm getting quite bored of this "balance" nonsense. Is the f*ing thing realistic/accurate or not? If you want balance in MP, put the same aircraft and weapons on BOTH sides. Problem solved!
  5. Block 3 from what I understand.
  6. That is China (J-7). PAK don't use the double pylons (yet), and I haven't seen talk of it doing so either.
  7. The main fuel quantity display has two modes: Internal only: [==========] 5120 External with fuel: [=======.......] 6000 Max external: [==========] 9140 Externals neeearly empty: [======.........] 5121 Internal tanks with empty externals: [==========] 5120 It's rather a neat feature. Basically - look out for 5120 - when it hits that level, the externals are empty and you can dump the tanks.
  8. Look at it another way... Assume high alt optimum launch against non-maneuvering target at sea level. Missile should max out around 50 NM. Assume average speed of 1480 kts (2.3 Mach) that is a flight time of 30 seconds. This is a max range shot, assuming she's off the rail at 3.6 Mach and ends at 800 kts. If the missile is going dumb, it's still flying and above min control speed.
  9. No.. I know. I'm not able to do more precise calculation right now. I thought I was being generous. Regardless, 80 seconds is wrong. Missile can not reach max range.
  10. No... definitely not right. Assume Mach 2.0 average speed. Mach 2.0 is approx. 20 NM/min. 80 sec battery = 1.33 mins x 20 miles/min = 26 NM range. BS.
  11. That isn't right. The missile internal battery lasts longer than the kinetic energy of the missile. Another DCS-ism??
  12. Is that all? I thought I read 5 minutes or so??? -120, too.
  13. What do you mean? -120 will run out of kinetic energy before it runs out of electrical energy. Same with SD-10. HARM is different. In loiter/search mode they can run out of electrical energy before they run out of kinetic energy as they fly a different profile. I've had AGM-88 run out of power and go "dumb". I think I also saw the same of LD-10.
  14. That 0.1 Mach number MATTERS!!
  15. Hi, I can't remember now if I was in the Jeff, so I'll ask a different question... Flying in MP, my friend is flying the F-18C. He decides to take a shot at me (I think -120B but could be 9X). He fires at my tail from a couple of miles (evil friend). I have no RWR missile launch alert. Am I correct in thinking I should have? In the Jeff I thought she had rear-looking sensors for this. I'm thinking F-18 should similarly alert if fired upon? I'm not sure if F-18 has capability for rear-aspect IR launch detection. My question is about Jeff however. :) I flew too many aircraft this week... Thanks!
  16. I hate these game "balancing" arguments. War is not a fair fight.
  17. I was talking about apparent engagement envelope of CWIS. I'm not sure exactly what it was shooting at (Harpoon I think).
  18. IRL I think yes, as TAS is higher, range is much further. I would expect to need to fly it higher to get max range.
  19. OK! Will look out for it!
  20. Real footage shows these things firing WVR. You get to see the carnage on the video. The missiles being shot are also higher than mast height. Sea-skimming should be engaged much later (closer to the boat) due to relative angle.
  21. What I do is hide everything when I add it, except for one unit, depending on Intel. This way approximate locations/areas are mapped but otherwise unknown.
  22. No comment! How can basic thrust/drag profiles be so messed up? It's 2020. This kind of thing is BASIC. I know it's a DCS problem.
  23. WMD7 image is too dark. Definitely bugged. Not MFD problem. See my other thread, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=271160 .
  24. Hi, The WMD7 only requires a single power-on cycle PER SESSION. ON causes spin-up/gyro align but subsequent aircraft do not go through this step.
  25. Hi, Latest OB; the WMD7 picture is screwed up and IR mode is unusable. It's like the brightness/contrast is applied twice. It also does not remember brightness/contrast settings and gets darker on mode switch.
