Have you set up your PTT buttons as explained on page 12 of the VaicomPro manual?
-
Is this with all PTT TX nodes or just one? Have you mapped all TX nodes in the Voiceattack profile (both press and release)? Away from PC - sent using Tapatalk

The problem is NOT with Vaicom it is with VoiceAttack. You will need to purchase VoiceAttack as well (https://voiceattack.com/purchase.aspx). Both are good pieces of software and Vaicompro.com is legitimate - @Hollywood_315 on this forum is the genius behind it. Looking at your VoiceAttack main log window there are a few possible issues to sort if they don't clear once you have purchased Voiceattack: 1. You should be able to import a profile once you have VoiceAttack full version. 2. The orange square message is telling you that you have more than one instance of Vaicom installed - we will need to sort that to ensure you work on one only Are you on Discord with a microphone? If so, I am happy to have a call with you and get you up and running if you have purchased VoiceAttack and are still having problems

I don't know whether that is currently possible or not - your best bet might be to jump on the VA discord and ask there

As others have said, the training is there, Finish is about making sure you can use all your trained words in DCS because they need to be in the VA profile list for them to be recognised. A simple flow to how it works is: 1. VA listens for your voice and then checks the words / phrases in the profile list (pencil button) for a match. These are the commands you copy from Vaicom to VA with the Finish button. If there is no match, Vaicom will not be called 2. If a match is found the steps associated with that command will be actioned. In this case that will be to use the Vaicom plugin 3. The Vaicom plugin then uses the matched command to communicate with DCS and get the response If you are going to add additional commands it is best to create a separate profile, put your commands in it and daisy chain it to the Vaicom one. To daisy chain them ensure Vaicom is the selected VA profile, click on the pencil and then click on the Options button next to the profile name. There will then be an option to 'Include commands from other profiles'

If your copy of Voiceattack (VA) is licensed, have you configured it as shown in the Vaicompro manual. In particular, you need to check that the VA option to allow extensions / plugins is allowed. The issue at the moment is a VA one and not a Vaicom one. Until the profile window shows Vaicom in it rather than My profile, Vaicom is not loaded and so you will not be able to access anything like the config screens

The keys are not useless - you are trying to enter them in the wrong place. The problem with installers is that there are a large number of software / hardware configurations and some don't play as nicely as others. I am guessing you have followed the instructions on page 5 of the manual - I know you say you have disabled your AV, but does it have any messages in its log as this is quite often a culprit If the .msi file has not worked have you tried the .zip alternative (available at https://www.vaicompro.com/downloads.html just below the .msi option). This will allow you to control the process and should hopefully give you the file you need.

I wouldn't worry about it - the weekend newsletter has announced they are moving to new underlying forum software on Monday to try and fix issues with the current forum. As a result the forum will be out for all of Monday and you may need to request a password reset if you cannot log in after this

2021 (and earlier) DCS Newsletter Discussion Thread

Cyprus is indeed there - as is the news that there is another major forum upgrade to change the underlying technology so forums will not be available on Monday and you may need to request a new password afterwards -
Not at the moment, and I suspect it might be difficult to do as this is now the area where DCS looks for drag commands to move the kneepad around. You can assign keys / hotas commands to move and this is on page 46 of the manual

I use an additional Razer gamepad to the side for some functions, and VoiceAttack / Vaicom (via the PTT button) to call up items such as the kneeboard. I have a VA profile daisy-chained to the Vaicom one for non-Vaicom commands I have also repurposed the Engage / Disengage autopilot button on the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle since the pinky button does the same thing

Great news The binding assignments can happen after updates when DCS has some modifications. I always keep a backup of the Inputs folder in the Saved Games > DCS.openbeta folder on C since these sometimes go awry and it is much quicker to copy back than assign again in DCS. Moving forwards, if things do go funny again checking the bindings is always a good place to start. Away from PC - sent using Tapatalk

No I am not official support (you are not the first person to think I am @Hollywood_315 in disguise:))- i am just a user, but with a long professional history of helping customers with support for products my teams produced. I know how good Vaicom is when up and running and will do my best to help other people get past the teething issues. your work is definitely not being wasted, and I spent hours talking at my PC:). There isn't a formal training progress bar or anything, but running through all the phrases will help the machine understand you better, and will also help you identify words it struggles with understanding. These are the ones you need to think of aliases for - they don't even need to be close to the original word as long as you can remember what you have used is the Finish button still showing yellow? If so, you need to press it and follow the instructions it will give you (apologies if you have already done this). If the alias mismatch carries on you might need a database and / or profile reset. Don't worry, neither of these will affect the voice training you have already done.

I don't believe there is a way to get a definitive list of what you have done - I just noted down where I had got to. If Finish is highlighted yellow then press the Test button - this will compare the Vaicom list to that in the Voiceattack (VA) profile. If they match a message to this effect will appear in the VA log and the Finish button will turn grey. If there is a mismatch then press Finish and follow the instructions that will appear. In terms of words that are not recognised reliably, especially when you have added them to the dictionary and recorded you saying them, the best solution is to add an alias on the Editor tab. To do this: 1. Select the command phrase for which you want to add an alias and then press ADD NEW. This will add a new entry which is highlighted and with a number at the end, e.g. if the command phrase was Airport, ADD NEW will give you Airport1 2. Click to the left of the start of the phrase (e.g. before the A in Airport1) and then type in the new command phrase you want (it pays to have done some voice training and found some words (can be more than one in the phrase) which are well understood when you say them 3. Delete the original alias text 4. Once you have added your aliases click on the FINISH button and follow the instructions to add them to the VA profile list of commands As an example, you may find that Criqueville works better if you change it to Cricket Ville. To do this you would select Criqueville from the list. ADD NEW would then give you Criqueville1. Click at the front of this and type in your new words to get Cricket VilleCriqueville1 and then delete Criqueville1 to be left with Cricket Ville as the alias (Criqueville would still be in the list as well). If you do add more than a couple of aliases it is a good idea to EXPORT them to a file which you can then backup. If, in the future, you need to reset Vaicom for any reason yo can then use the small right arrow to the right of the APPLY and CANCEL buttons to toggle the EXPORT button to an IMPORT button which you can then use to bring the commands back in If you have the AIRIO extension and use the Radio Tune, Tacan Tune etc commands you might well find that the Tune in these is misheard as 2 or to. Several of us have changed Tune to Freak to get around this - give me a shout if you need to do this and I will show you how to do it

@Beesty - please could you post screenshots of your Vaicom config and I will see if I can work out why you are not hearing your own voice
-
@Chicki I can replicate your issue - it seems to be specific to the A10 (both first and second versions) - I will contact @Hollywood_315 to see if he can help EDIT: After discussing with @Hollywood_315 and carrying out some more tests suggested by him I think the issue is actually with the comms in DCS and not with the Vaicom Options / Take. I ran a repair of DCS (so removed the Vaicom changes to the lua files) and then ran DCS without having started up Vaicom again. Doing this and using the menu system also results in the ATC not responding to any requests (I have tried a few different missions and with different maps). We are still investigating
-
I am still looking at this for both of you (might need @Hollywood_315 to help if I cannot resolve) but to make it easier to read the thread it would help if you could attach the log files to your post, rather than pasting the contents into the post. This is especially true as I think there are 2 separate issues here and I am therefore needing to jump between and over posts

I think you need to reset Vaicom's keyword list as follows: 1. Open Vaicom config and select the Reset tab 2. Select Keywords, make sure no other options are selected and then clock on Master Zero Hopefully when you go back to the Editor tab the list will be back this doesn't remove any training you have done

Have you set VA / Vaicom to run as an Administrator because that is what normally gives such a permissions error? You either need to set this within the Voicattack options or modify the shortcut you use to launch it by right clicking, finding the run as administrator option and checking it.
-
Which versions of VA and Vaicom are you running?
-
Yes - go to Vaicom config > Editor tab > select the name you want to change and click ADD New This will give you a new alias with a number at the end e.g. Airport will become Airport1 and it will all be highlighted Click before the start of the alias and then type in the new name you would like before deleting the old name e.g. to change Airport1 to Charles I would click to the left of the A, type in Charles and then delete Airport1 Once you have made all the changes you want click on the FINISH button and then follow the instructions that appear

Are you running VA / Vaicom as an administrator?
