I bought both the DL and the Box version so they got double the money from me.

Is the price of bandwidth and all that goes with allowing a DLable version more then box version? That is a good question. Or it maybe just the market driving force. ED can sell the DL at any price it wants to set because it is in control. ED is at the mercy of price set my retailers to sell boxed versions. More profit for ED in the DL then the box version per box, but it reaches a larger audience sitting on shelves in stores so you need both. That is my take on it at least.

What is this UAC you talk about? I just wish I could get rid of it asking me if I am sure I want to do something when I already said I did when I clicked on the icon. That is my main bitch about Vista, and can I log in as administrator and not have to do it individually with some programs?

DOH just read your first post again. I don't know why it defaulted there. As long as you aren't having problems, just knock on wood 3 times a day and say seven Hail Flight Sims and you should be fine :D

It should default to \program filesx86, at least that is where mine went to and so far no problems.

It is the big BEAR in the room. Without a dynamic campaign, replayability is left up to the community. I for one like mission oriented, realistic missions that have a meaning for something. But if I build it, I already know what can and does happen before it happens. Major bummer for the mission/campaign maker. Right now there just doesn't seem to be enough mission makers. People are still basic flight now but will burn through the campaigns and single missions in no time and then what. You hope your buddies or the community are making missions and lately from the thread dedicated to mission makers, no one is sharing.

This is something I noticed too. I just name them after what I remember they were named in LOMAC or by the biggest town/city near them.

I'll give my +10 here also. I haven't had a sim grab me by the cajones like Falcon 4, Longbow 2, Janes F-15, Janes F-18, EECH, Allied Force and LOMAC did back in the day. I can't wait for my shoulder to heal so I can jump back in the cockpit and get Griff and I to LAN again in Black Shark. Should be about the time the patch comes out, which in truth, is not needed to enjoy Black Shark in all it's glory. Black shark got me to plunk down almost $4G's on a new computer and about $600 on a new intercom system for more realistic comms during LAN meets. I am hooked, line and sinker on DCS.

Thank you for your efforts. I hope to see more activity in the mission building arena when the patch comes out. We need more missions so this sim can have replayability. It is up to the community to provide them. Thanks again.

Well what is the cooling mehcanism then?

I wonder if it is modelled that flying around and having flowing air cools down the laser quicker then just sitting still with non flowing air. Just wondering.

I have TIR 3 with 6DOF and do not see a reason to upgrade to 4 or 5.

DCS Max is useful in XP also. It widely reported that it stabilizes the FPS in game so not a total waste.

Thanks for teh mini update Matt. Word from you guys on what is coming up really brightens my day. Looks like June is going to be a good month. Lets just hope my shoulder recuperates enough so that I can enjoy the new patch :(

And DCS A-10C is not just around the corner. We still have 8+ months to go before it comes out. Hell we haven't even got the first patch for DCS Black Shark. So congrats on buying it and enjoy the HOG. She is a wonderful machine to lay waste tot he landscape.

I think the closer we get, the more info will be released. With the lack of info lately tells me release is not imminent and not much has changed since the last update. I bet they are in the "Test it till your pants fall off" stage :D and so there is nothing to release. Just My Humble Opinion.
