For the amount of stimulation from a simulation (rhyme on purpose LOL) I would pay twice the price they charge now. But I am a Fanatic. Doubling the price would cut sales tremendously. I think we are fortunate to pay what we pay for each release. To understand the amount of man hours it takes and the resoureces it takes and the availability of public information for one of these sims in mind boggling. Count your blessings and rethink your opinion if you take into consideration that last sentence I just wrote.

First F15 campaign mission crashes at the end.

One word.........................BETA.....................Nuff said on that. Report problems, maybe get fixed. Love the EAGLE! -
Speedbrake has always been 100%, on these forums at least. :) I always put mine all the way out and modulate speed with the throttle. Makes it easier then guesstimating 40 degrees.

ED is famous for underreporting fixes. Not saying they did this time but some things are so tedius and small that they aren't reported.

Make sure the original Black Shark is updated to the most recent patch for Black Shark. I ran into this problem with Black Shark 2 and realized I wasn't patched to the latest 1.2.1 patch. Once I did the Dollar sign went away. Hope this helps

Trim that thing! Everyone likes a little Trim :)

I believe it had to do in the early years as the AWACS also working as a JSTARS. It is a fact that it used to be like that. Now, I don't know.
-
I just remember in the past you had to have an AWACS flying to get artillery to fire long range. Must have changed.
-
If I remember correctly you have to have a AWACS up and running for long distance shooting by artillery. Correct me if I'm wrong this. That is the way it used to be so I don't know if it has changed.

Well I stand corrected. That is an amazing advancement in TOW technology. Is it in service or still being tested? This would be reactive armor. But it is still hampered with a stop and shoot I suppose but at 4.2 K that is well out of the reach of harms way. Woudl have to have a very well trained Gunner and Squad Leader with good knowledge of the battlefield layout to be shooting at those ranges.

As a former TOW II slinger and Section/Squad Leader, there is no top down TOW missile that I am aware of. It would be impossible to know when the missile is above the target and it would break the wire for such a radical movement, which would cause the TOW missile to go heywire and most likely miss your target. Wire Guided Death!

Left CTRL, then PAUSE/BREAK

I never Aerobrake. Like GG I just put the speed brakes out at 100%, throttle to zero, and intermittently use the brakes. Always works and never go off the end of the runway no matter how short the field.

Let the SEAD chaps do their work first, then assess the situation and take action. Don't try to fight the war yourself. Use the assets that are available to you first and foremost.

Not EVERYTHING, but it gets the engines, radios, countermeasures, MFCDSs and the likes all up and running and ready to use.

The level of detail in this G___A___M___#. I can't even spell it it hurts me so. You mean the level of detail in this sim? :)

Kewlness. I need to cover my stick!

Memory advantage 8 GIG vs 16 GIG?
Dusty Rhodes replied to Fakum's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
DCS A-10 is the heaviest user of my 8 Gigs of RAM I have and it doesn't even come close to using it all. I would put the money into 8 GIGs and the rest you save to upgrade something else on your new monster. -
I'm a mutha, and I love her. I agree, I think an ex-A10 pilots son is going to be flying the same aircraft he or she did.

Did you trim it to stop it from rolling?
-
Payment just sent a minute ago. Thank you. Any ideer when you might have them done and shipped?

If you set to manual then what command makes the counter measures dispense?
-
Yes sir we were. As my comparison with the TOW signature, that launch could be seen for miles if you are oriented in that direction. I am not asking for contrails all the way to target but a visual indication, just like shown in the video. With your RWR screaming at you of a radar lock, you will look at it and see the orientation the lock and or Missile launch is coming from and would be able to see that signature from a good distance IMHO and from my experience with a smaller signature of the TOW missile which only leaves a signature on launch.
-
Those weren't faint at all and could be seen from miles away, espeically from the air with your attention directed into that area with your RWR screaming at you. I would like to see this represented if it is possible with the GFX engine. I was a TOW missile crewman and sqaud leader and remember the small puff of smoke the TOW lets out when you fire it and tank crews, from the ground, could see them from several miles away forcing us to always disperse after 2 shots. The puff of smoke was nothing like the smoke from the Tunguska when it fired in that video.
-
Running a mission where we duke it out with some Tunguska's and an SA8. I noticed that with the Tunguskas, there is no contrail or smoke plume from launch to give you a visual que that there was a launch. Is this realistic? Do the Tunguska's have no plume or trail? What about other SAMs? Thanks in advance.
