  1. i really hope, they stand true to their commitment also with ffb, and set the bar to heatblur standards, which really is a different league not only compared to the other 3rd party devs, but also to ED. pretty please make the FFB heatblur(yes i used it as an adjective)
  2. awesome module...i really hope they make the FFB implementation soon and as astonishing as the rest of the bird. im really impressed...
  3. cool, didnt know about that function :) now its only a question how accurate that estimation is. but i guess we will likely not see it earlier.
  4. i can confirm this. i guess thats indeed the trim tab thats deflecting the aileron. yo-yo said, that having the trim tabs set to zero in the options, doesnt mean that the trim tabs are actually set to zero but that this default setting 0/0 is trimmed to reach maximum speed. that they only deflect to a fixed amount ,once the control surfaces become aerodynamically effective ,makes sense, as this small aerodynamic surface can only produce a certain amount of lift that will deflect the aileron in the opposite direction. the video above shows that its centered on the ground. so i guess thats the indeed the hardcoded trim tab, with a setting of 0/0 in the special options setting. EDIT: I just tested a take-off with the controls indicator open with 2 different settings. in both tests, i didnt touch the joystick during the takeoff run. i have the msffb2 sidewinder joystick, so thats why the two different tests: 1st test: disabled ffb in the misc options, and to have a center force i used the simffb.exe, so it basically acts like a mechanical spring joystick. started a quick mission on the runway, opened the controls indicator, moved my controls and let it center again. with engine running standing on the runway, the diamond was perfectly alligned in center, after i put my hand off the stick. to not touch the stick during the takeoff, i trimmed the plane +1, opened the radiators set to manual, prop pitch 12 o clock, flaps 2nd indication on the wing. take-off with 1.4 ata, only rudder inputs, hands off the stick. already during the takeoff run, you can watch the diamond travel towards the right side. 2nd test: enabled ffb in the misc options, and again to have a center force already before the airspeed rises, i used simffb.exe. takeoff settings as described above. interestingly, with ffb enabled, the diamond doesnt travel one bit as airspeed increases. it stays locked in position. now it would be interesting, to hear how the thing reacts with a non-ffb stick and ffb enabled, and whether the outcome is the same as in my 2nd test.
  7. well first of all...if the first player on the red side has 6times the kills of the second one, we can assume that its not the aircraft that matters in between the two, especially since they are flying the same one. and if this one guy turns around the stats with his 748kills completely(which were i think like 1/3 of the total kills on the german side), and therefore made the red side lead by a few kills within those two months, to then claim the spit is no match, thats utter ridiculous...if it wasnt for this 1 guy, the blue side would have been leading by a few hundred kills with their "inferiour" spitfire that is no match for that "uber" K4... and its a bold statement to claim that its not even remotely fair/balanced now, when you havent been flying for over a year because of a dead gpu, as you said a couple of days ago in another thread. things changed quite a bit within this time. about the g6 i agree...
  8. the bs stats support my argument completely. blue was leading by a couple of hundred kills, if u took away the best player from each side, from 1st january to the end of februrary. removing mw50 from the k4 doesnt make it a g6 at all...
  9. using steam version generally is a bad idea...updates and module releases will come at a later point and a couple of other issues i have heard about...i would recommend to use the standalone dcs version. you can only win.
  10. problem with limiting aircraft or completely banning aircraft from servers is the modular thing dcs is...unlike in other sims where you buy a package of aircraft and a map with contemporary ground units, here in dcs we buy single modules. so limiting slots or completely banning aircraft in multiplayer will result in some people being unable to fly on that server. also, limiting slots on the 109 once we have the 190A8 will not work for many guys...a 109 and a 190 are completely different aircraft, and while some love both, there are guys who love the one but dont like the other at all... now once we have another 109 variant, thats another story. and yeah, limiting certain variants of an aircraft types can then be very immersive even, and add a great deal to historical based missions, and yeah, balance as well...but i think up until we have another 109 variant available in dcs, limiting or even banning the only 109 we have isnt a perfect solution. the MkIX was in service before the K4, but that doesnt mean its inferiour at all...it has a slower top speed, but thats its only disadvantage. it turns much better, its energy retention is better, it accelerates better, its climbs just as good, it prop hangs much better, has better armament, better visiblity, no stickforces and way better rudder authority... the only advantage the 109 has is its top speed. at this speed though, the stickforces will prevent any successfull offensive manouver as long as your oponent has the slightest clue of your presence, so it can pretty much only be used to run away. i would love to see a spitXIV as well as early variants, and i would also love to see early 109 models, as they add to our dcs experience. but even as it stands right now, between the spit and the 109, there is no need to balance anything really.
  11. its not so much the waiting time...if they told me, that i will have to wait another 6months, but then i can definitely purchase one of their sticks, i would accept...but right now it feels like playing in the lottery....will i be sitting at home the minute they have the stick in stock again?...and will i be noticing it, to make an order? probably not... they should at least give me the possibilty to make a preorder.
  12. i dont quite understand this either....if the dealer cant cope with the situation, selling your products, then find another one please. i know, thats easier said than done, but its quite obvious by now, that the current dealer is a problem for the brand frankly.
  13. dont know, i dont necessarily think that our pilot must be too weak(although its something entirely different to look at test results of pilots pulling a stick while in a relaxed state, and the same guy fighting for his life), but that the logic of when the pilot begins/and stops to use his 2nd hand is flawed. how should this algorithm know at what point i do intend to use the 2nd hand? when i reach a certain deflection? if thats the case, than thats already wrong. a real pilot anticipates and uses his 2nd hand already in advance as he knows that he's planning a hard turn the next seond. furthermore how should this algorithm know, that i want to keep my 2nd hand on the stick if i move it back to center? lets assume im in siccors with a bandit..in this situation, while the stick will travel quite often in/ or close to center position, the next second i will need all the strenght i have. a real pilot does not take his left hand then back to the throttle. considering such situations, the 1hand/2hand logic is only getting worse, when it would be dependent on speed or time(deflection the stick for x seconds until the second hand is used), and even worse, all 3 together. maybe the 109 pilot should fly with 2hands all the time, or at the very least we should be able to decide when to switch between 1 and 2hand flying. give us a button that toggles the 2nd hand. if both hands are on the stick, you cant adjust throttle anymore.
  14. main problem imo is, that they are not working. they are not synchronised so its a no-go for multiplayer. for singleplayer they are not good either. they rotate, jumping with the view from one place to another, and clouds are gone completely all of a sudden etc...yeah a working cloud system would be more than welcome. i was hoping that we hear something about it in the new year video, what they have in plans for 2019, but unfortunately weather wasnt even mentioned.
  15. i hear u, but personally i wouldnt like to see this limited to such a degree...meaning, that while i wouldnt like to have a zero developed right now, and fly over normandy with it, i wouldnt have any problem with any spit variant that still saw service in ww2, over normandy or any other european map. the normandy map we have right now, would look the same(almost) if it was labeled Channel 1942 map, and the airfields are not correct for 1944 to begin with either....besides we do know that 2more maps are in development as we speak... doesnt have to be like that though. yo-yo was speaking about the time span a warbirds actually takes to develop in one interview. assuming that he wasnt trying to be overly optimistic, the current development time could be drastically shortened if there was a dedicated ww2 team focusing solely on the warbirds.
  16. same here...im from eurooe so i was looking at the eu store...i have yet to see the gunfighter being available. not a perception issue.
  17. whats wrong with the current extension kit?is it too light on the forces?
  18. sure thats what we all assume. but there are slight but distinctive differences possible on how the logic behind is working, and that could have noticeable differences in the end result. i.e. is it dependent on physical stick deflection? or is it dependent on virtual stick deflection? is it dependent on speed at all? is there any time you need to apply a certain deflection until the 2nd hand is used? does it immediately switch back to 1hand flying mode, once i put less deflection on either physical or virtual stick? etc...
  19. thx yo-yo...does it require a certain threshold i have to reach with my joystick at home until the 2nd hand kicks in? or is it a certain threshold on the virtual 109stick that has to be reached until the 2nd hand is used? or does it require a certain threshold combined with a certain timespan until the pilot uses the 2nd hand?
  20. so our pilot switches between 1hand/2hand flying mode?yes?
  21. since when do we need evidence for asking a question? writing in capital letters doesnt exactly make that post look more intelligent:megalol:
  22. luftwhiner is a term u can ignore. it doesnt do any good, and the bias is huge with the people using the term. u can ignore not only the term itself, but also the guys using it. not worth it :) anyway, the 1hand/2hand logic is a thing im really interested in. maybe we actually get an answer at some point.
  23. slowly i get fed up tbh. they are sold out the minute its available. it already says on their page, that the product will be available on 7th of april, but in the same vein it says that you cant pre-order anymore.... i understood with their first batches that they had a limited stock number, being careful. but by now its becoming ridiculous, and i think actually hurting their own business.
  24. trying to buy the gunfighter for months now...not a chance. do they actually plan to get a proper supply? always out of stock. horrible business.
