I'm back I've actually been kicking MSFS around the last month or so. I had the OG version and the next couple builds way back in the day and never bothered with it since. Really cool to see how far we have come. But now I'm back here and all my key binds are gone. Sooo I need to pick a plane, bind it up and fly it. I have the most time in the Mirage so naturally I'm going to give the f-16 a try this time.

OpenXR Toolkit Tuning Guide (updated 21/02/23)
Pickle72 replied to edmuss's topic in Virtual Reality
That's all it was. I didn't switch to the steam vr rendering driver???? I cant thank you enough. I gave up on VR in DCS. I just got my Track IR stuff back out. But thanks to Open XR its back! Running the Quest at 80Hz with a render res of 1.3 (4480x2256) and my old 1080 is able to achieve the coveted 40fps with a lot of bells and whistles turned up, including ultra clouds So happy. Thanks for the hand holding.- 688 replies

I did not download the .dll as I didn't think I needed to? the screen shot looks right but I think the vr interface is set to oculus? I'll have to check when I get home. Could that be it??? Thanks guys! Matt- 688 replies

OpenXR Toolkit Tuning Guide (updated 21/02/23)
Pickle72 replied to edmuss's topic in Virtual Reality
Sorry for asking in here, I think its been asked several times. I've scanned this thread and many others for the answer but I'm not having any luck. I've found many threads with this problem but there is never a solution? The OpenXR toolkit menu will not show in DCS with Quest 2? I've tried everything suggested in multiple threads including- scanned, cleaned and repaired DCS with skatezilla Everything is up to date DCS is listed in open composite run full screen, alt Enter to make sure and gosh, so much more, but no luck. I was able to do wonderful things in MSFS2020 with OpenXR but I can't get it to work for DCS?- 688 replies

Nice! I would love to see what else in on that wall.

I should put more effort into making it a 365 day hobby. but I work on computers all day long so when its nice I find it extremely hard to sit indoors. And yes, 1st world problems

Anyone else do this to themselves? I usually dust off the Thrustmaster when the weather turns for the worse. Which means I must re-learn all the systems in all my modules all over again. By the time I get a couple modules figured out, the weather turns nice and I’m back outside until next winter. To add to this frustration, I just got a Quest 2! So now I’m testing, and testing and testing to get the best balance of performance and visuals. LOL! I do enjoy it though. Honest. To triple my frustrations, I have the most time in the Mirage. Good grief! It’s been changed a lot! That is a good thing, I’m not complaining but, wow! There must be easier hobbies. Not the Iron Man in training (ok, half IM) I’m also currently doing, or the RC glider (F3k) practice. But come on?!?!?

I'm at work and just realized I waisted 15 minutes mindlessly smashing lights. Love them

Thanks! Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

Probably a silly question but I can't find an answer. I thought it was a bug on my system but I just watched one of Matt Wagner's videos and its on his radar too. What on earth is the cross? Does it represent #1 priority in RWS?

That looks amazing!

I don’t have the F-16 but I was in the same boat as you but with the Mirage vs F/A-18 and very, very little time to learn. I chose the Mirage. A year later and I am just now getting into the Hornet. I can tell you I am honestly having a blast learning this plane. So deep and interesting. The only problem (it’s a good problem) is it is being updated so much lately that the training vids are out of date so makes for some confusion. But there is some logic in the menus, systems and weapons that you can honestly figure most things out with just a little trial and error. Oh and yes, a third engine would be nice

So it looks like I have it set up correctly. I did bring that window up in my other monitor. I just never heard anyone and the one time I got up the nerve to talk over to test I didn't get an answer? I'll test it in jets in a more populated server next time. Thanks for the help.

Hey guys, I’m looking for some help with SRS. I just ventured into online play to test out the new damage model in the warbirds (awesome!). So, I decided I better try out SRS while I’m at it. I watched a few tutorial videos and help threads and have it all set up. But I’m in a warbird and no tutorials that I have found explain the warbird setup. Maybe its that I don’t know how to use the Warbird radios? Specifically, the P-47 and spit. So, I airstart in either the 47 or spit. My radio is on. I see the srs overlay displaying its info. But I of course only have presets A, B, C…. I clicked through all them and dead quit. I assume I need to set the presets somehow? Can someone point me in the right direction? And also I didn’t know where I should start this thread so sorry if its in the wrong spot.

Why don't our warbirds cough and struggle on startup?

You guys ever seen any of Kermit Weeks videos? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOC84qwgDHkUPwfeLKL40tQ Lots of cool stuff for sure. But I remember one video he was starting the Wildcat (I think) and he explaned how the bottom cylinders don't even fire for several minutes until the engine is warm enough to burn off the oil that collects in them. Definetly made for a not so smooth idle. And lots of smoke. Some of this being modeled will ultimately sell the illusion. That's all we really want. -
Maybe its just me, but as an artist I love watching amazing art in progress.

Yes! Love the updates:thumbup: %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//www.memesmonkey.com/images/memesmonkey/69/699948bc21b1b4ba0aba5bb94176d8b4.jpeg[/img]

This is great guys! Loving it. As soon as I figure out how to make it through 3 consecutive pylons, look out world:pilotfly:

Great work guys! Its cool to continue to get feedback from the guys(gals) who know.

For what it’s worth, I’m a noob. Still learning the systems and single player only. But I love the Mirage. And despite what some people say, it is still being worked on. The brand new cockpit, new radar coding, new pilot model (its coming) shows there involvement in this module. Are there bugs? Yep. Do I lose sleep over them? Nope.

[OLD BUG REPORTS] Cleaning and Organization of old posts
Pickle72 replied to RAZBAM_ELMO's topic in Resolved Bugs
Same here. I am new to the Mirage so was not sure it was me or not. After first Magic shot I have to toggle CNM to Neutral, CMD to Neutral and then CMD FWD (if im using radar) and CNM AFT to select Magic again. Or the short answer- fire first, start from scratch to fire second.
