  1. Hm, the only thing I can think of is, maybe your monitor arrangement in Windows could be the culprit? Where is your Helios monitor placed in relation to your game view monitor? Can you see the kneeboard when not running Helios? And, just to make sure, have you checked that your edit is correct, and no extra spaces have sneaked in, like in your post above? I haven't checked out the 'monitor setup' way to move kneeboard, so don't know about that one..
  2. Nice
  3. Ah, ok, got it. There is a config line somewhere that adjusts the FOV limits, but I can't remember where, hopefully someone else will jump in here? Won't that give you a very fisheye like view of the world? I'm guessing you dont have any headtracking?
  4. Did you move your viewpoint back, using Right Shift + Right Ctrl + NUM / and * ? What I usually do is move the viewpoint back till I find I'm seated properly in the seat, and then I adjust the regular zoom or FOV in order to fit the dash on the screens. Im using 40" tv screens, so using the zoom, I'm trying to get the instruments to appear natural or close to 1:1 in size. When I'm happy I hit RALT + NUM0 to save, and thats it. I used to manually edit the view config files, but I find the above method accomplishes the same, only much faster and more intuitive. Btw, with your different sized monitors and resolutions, it might be a good idea for you to look in to SoftTH. Don't you have some misalignment from the middle monitor to the side monitors? Anyway, try searching for SoftTH, and a thread, started by PeterP I think, will give you the necessary info. Before you know it, you'll be adding a fourth screen :P
  5. Super, and easy to use, thanks
  6. 1. Press Num5 to reset your view to the current default. 2. Adjust your view to what you want as the new default but do not use any snap view keys in the process! Use Right Shift + Right Ctrl + NUM keys to move your view around, up/down and in/out until it suits you. I think NUM / and * moves your view point in/out. (this is different from zoom!) 3. Press RALT+Num0 - your new default view should now be saved. Test it by changing your view, then pressing Num5 - your view should return to your customised default! Oh, and remember to hit NUM Enter to reset the zoom upon first entering an aircraft, after the wierd zooming out have finished. A small DCS quirk..
  7. :yay::beer::cheer3nc::drunk:
  8. Hey, thanks for the mission, that sure made for some good hover and sling practise. I'll bet the groundcrew were wondering if I'd been drinking, seeing me dancing around those slingloads. Good fun though, and managed to avoid destroying any of the goodies.
  9. Hi, here is a way to move and resize the default kneeboard. I'm by no means an expert in this editing thing, so there may very well be smarter ways to do it, but here goes: Go to \DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit Here you will have to edit line 29 in ViewportHandling.lua where it says dedicated_viewport = {default_x,default_y,default_width,default_height} this controls the x/y position and width/height of kneeboard Eg. dedicated_viewport = {0,0,562,750} will place the kneeboard in the top-left corner, with a dimension of 562 x 750 pixels. On my SoftTH T-screen setup I use {2250,1150,562,750} wich places the kneeboard on the left side of my lower monitor. This is with a resolution of 5900x1918
  10. There's always someone wanting more, isn't there (or less) :P
  11. Brilliant, looking forward to it. Oh, btw, will there be an option to disable the touch control? It might get in the way a bit, if using Helios around the displays..?
  12. Nice! Any chance you can include some of the other displays, e.g. RWR, CDU, CMSP ?
  13. What Hawka said. I didn't think mine were working either, but it turned out all the snapviews were just set to the same frontpanel view for some reason.
  14. Thanks a lot GregP! I've never dabbled with SoftTh before, but thanks to you I got it up and running in no time. Well, I had to fiddle with the ratios of the 4th screen for a while, but all is good now. Can I ask, how have you setup your touchscreen with regards to rightclicks? @ Cowboy10uk, maybe changing the ratio (and thereby the resolution) for your 4th screen might help? I had to use 0.73 instead of GregP's 0.925 in order to get the size right. I guess if the cockpit on your main has the same size as on the 4th, it must be something else.. The bezel compensation between main and 4th perhaps?
  15. Just picked up my knobs from the post office today. Very nice work, now on to putting all this stuff together And since it didn't happen if there's no pics: (Panels are made by Linden)
  16. Sorry to hear that Linden, be sure to take all the time you need for your family!
  17. You should take a look at this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87543&highlight=ahk+center+trackir I don't know if you got a Trackir, but there's some good idea's in there regardless.
  18. I'm in for one sheet please
  19. Ah, ok, I see. So it's only flight effects that is sent to FFB then? Well, then the FFB and the sound shaker combined might just be perfect then :pilotfly:
  20. It's really because I already have a shaker mounted under the seat, driven by sound. I was hoping guns, gear down, landings and of course stalls and buffeting would be better by using FFB. Well, guns are actually pretty good just using sound. Hm, maybe your idea about using the motor as a shaker has potential, that way the sound powered shaker and the FFB could be combined.
  21. See, thats the thing, no software besides the normal drivers for the FFB device should be neccesary. It'll just do it's FFB thing as normal, only the signals would be sent to a shaker instead of the FFB motors! But, I don't think a shaker or the shakers amp can translate the raw FFB signals to anything meaningfull. If I can't find some info on the internets, I'll take the wheel apart one of these days, and see what kind of signal it puts out. Who knows, maybe it turns out to be a simple thing to do..
  22. Came by my old dustgathering TM Ferrari FFB wheel today, and got (the humble beginning of) an idea. What I'm wondering is, if it's possible to use the FFB signals from the wheel to drive a bass shaker? That way it would be possible to get feedback similar to what SimVibe does for racing titles. Anyone here got some knowledge on the electronics side of things? I'm guessing there will be a need for some kind of specialized amp, or converter if you will?
  23. Try adjusting these values found in DCS World\Config\View\SnapViewsDefault.lua Most likely it's x-trans and maybe FOV you'll want to fiddle with. Just in case you are not aware, use Notepad++ and not Windows notepad to make the edits, and remember backups ;)
