  1. Not your own, I hope!
  2. Wow.... Really nice work!
  3. Ya know... if you set the blade height low enough, the lawn mower will take care of that dog poo for you! :D
  4. "Silently agreed" ??? How did I ever manage to miss that one? :music_whistling:
  5. I like it! Maybe just shorten it up to B.S. though, for ease of use... I think we already have that one covered. ;)
  6. If you can't find any affordable rudder pedals... consider buying a Thrustmaster T16000M, and hacking it to make your own rudder pedal assembly. You'd be able to read your pedals in T.A.R.G.E.T., and you could even put those extra buttons to use. Maybe make yourself a button box or panel.
  7. You might want to consider DB style connectors. They have been used for serial port connections for years, but now that computer users mostly use USB instead, they are a good candidate for pit wiring connections. http://www.cablestogo.com/support/connector-guides/db If you look around, you can get them where you solder the pins, or you can get them where you crimp the pins (which could save you a lot of soldering). Plus, if you are so inclined, you can readily purchase pre-made cables and potentially save yourself even more work. One caution there though... make sure you are getting "straight through" cables, and not "null modem" cables.... and also that all the pins are wired up, if you actually want them all. You should also be able to find bulkhead style versions for mounting on switch boxes, etc, if you need that. (potentially good for modded joysticks and throttles, for instance)
  8. Do we put the credit card into the DVD drive with the magnetic strip facing up, or down? :)
  9. I think I'd be pretty leery of getting saw related advice from somebody going by the handle of "StumpyNubs"... :music_whistling:
  10. I wasn't there (graduated high school in '74), but that still moves me. Thanks for sharing that.
  11. And it even mentioned a helicopter...
  12. I don't because I'm not interested in them (especially the "Etc., etc.", since I don't know who they are). Good luck with your quest though! Maybe Conure will help you out with it, since he's apparently less hostile than I am. :D
  13. I see. Well, while you may be more likely to get a response in these forums, they are less likely to be authoritative, since we aren't the developers. If they are not telling you when you make a direct inquiry, what are the odds that they told us anything? :smilewink: We can only make educated guesses, such as what Conure posted. As he pointed out, there are a lot of customers out there in that market. It has to be a bit unsettling to watch the gyrations that Microsoft has gone through with product offerings and programming staff. If the ones that have been developing for MS flight sims are looking to branch out... Conure probably has it right I'd guess... XPlane would probably appear to be closer to their wheelhouse than DCS, at least in some respects. DCS World is a very different kettle of fish, and I'm doubtful you'll see them over here any time soon. But that is just another opinion. In any case, my point about pinging on the devs remains. Yakking about it over here isn't likely to make any of them view things differently. If you keep talking to them, especially if you can make a case as to why they should consider it, it might have an effect. Especially after Belsimtek and other 3rd parties have products for sale, that they can look at.
  14. If they start putting big freakin' elevators on the airfields, I'm calling "foul!"
  15. Perhaps asking those developers about it might be more informative and potentially productive. :smilewink: First off, we don't *know* that they are not. We can only know what has been announced. Some of them might be looking into it. Some might even be more likely to consider it if people ping them directly.
  16. Entertaining!
  17. That's looking pretty good for Jig saw / Skill saw work. Well done!
  18. I have a suspicion that if you try googling for 'hog's private parts' that you are not going to get what you seem to be looking for... :music_whistling:
  19. Hmmm... "I2C" you say? http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/
  20. It certainly sounds like a lot of potential is there. The keyboard 'problem' could be overcome or compensated for somehow. Either the hand motion detection hardware/software that is coming out, or perhaps a small camera with an option to bring it up in a "picture-in-picture" mode when needed. (Kind of like the way people re-center / lock their TrackIR at times). Plus, there is always the voice activation software route... I'd like to see Oculus Rift supported. And announcing the intent to do so sooner, rather than later, could possibly help some folks avoid spending a lot of money on some other approach (ie. Building a "cube"). If the Rift would be better, I'd rather put the money into that, instead of projectors, etc.
  21. It just gets better and better! Are you making that ScreenPicServer program available to other people?
  22. Wouldn't that result in the Rift tracker picking up the motions from the platform, and result in head tracking input that does not truly reflect where the pilot is looking?
  23. Compensating the Rift Head Tracking for motion platform movement would most likely be a matter of using a second motion sensor of the same type as used by the Rift... but attached to the seat or platform. Mount a sensor on the back of the seat at about neck height, and subtract it's output from the Rift's motion sensor output... and you should have a pretty close representation of proper head tracking. Combining a motion platform with the rift would certainly be an interesting project. The algorithms usually used to fake out the human brain on motion platforms might need some significant tweaking.
  24. Couldn't you (and your friend) just buy it on sale tomorrow, and still play next weekend? It'll play just as well, even if the sale is over... I promise!
  25. Take the X52 Pro profile and convert it to a X52 profile. It's not difficult. If nothing else, it can save you a lot of work entering commands, etc. You can always assign them to other bottons, etc. to better suit your tatst.
