My version of DCS is the latest 1.5 Open Beta. I am unable to move the radar cursor (cross). I checked my control mappings and everything looks ok. I tried using regular key commands to move the cursor, but it wont move. I then deleted the key commands and went to the Axis Commands and mapped my CH Products Throttle mini-stick to the X and Y axis for the radar cursor, however, still no movement. Is anyone else having this issue? I searched the Forum but did not find anything relevant.

Yes, I did set tooltips on in the General Options
-
I just went through the Start-Up Tutorial and noticed that tooltips are not available, when holding the mouse over a switch, etc.... Am I missing a setting, or are tooltips not working?

Thanks guys for the various help, videos and suggestions. I have alternated using the Pro Throttle and the Thumb Wheel on the Fighterstick as collective. I think that the Thumb Wheel is more precise. Maybe a bit of jitter with the Pro Throttle. However, the main problem is that I cant get the helicopter stable in a hover. It is all over the place. I will upload a Track when I have a chance.

After installing the NS 430 Module, I could see that it was installed under the Module Manager and a Serial Number was present, so I thought it had been activated. I closed DCS and restarted. After doing so, an Activation dialog box popped up and I entered the Serial Number, and now the NS 430 is visible in the Mi-8 cockpit, right-seat side.

I have a CH Products, Fighter Stick, Pro Throttle and Rudder Pedals. Helo's are very difficult to control. Will someone please explain which Trimmer Mode you have selected under the Special Options, and your procedure for trimming? I have searched YouTube videos on how to trim and hover the Mi-8, but really haven't found much help. I have found that it is extremely difficult to hover the Mi-8, and nearly impossible to sling-load with my setup.

I just purchased, and installed the NS 430 module in the current 2.xx (Normandy, NTTR) version of DCS. I dont see any documentation, key commands, or training missions. I started an Mi-8 mission and do not see the NS 430. Also, I don't see any way to activate the NS 430 under the Special Tab. Someone please explain how to view, and use this module. Thank you.

Thanks to JohnX for this new Mi-8 video:

The Track replay shows my airplane lining up on the grass rather than on the runway for takeoff. During the takeoff roll in the Track my plane ran into a hangar, and of course, crashed and burned. When I was flying the actual mission, I made a successful takeoff., believe it or not (Spitfire).

Tracks are not working correctly. I watched a Track of my first flight over Normandy, and unfortunately I see the same issues as prior to the latest patch.

I would really like to see a video on how to use the autopilot and trim, as well as the relationship between them. I have been watching various videos and reading the manual, but am still having a tough time flying the Mi-8.

Disregard, 82% (Fan) is Normal for full throttle during takeoff. I should be using Core RPM, to set takeoff power.
-
I have a CH Pro Throttle that has been calibrated using the CH Control Manager Software. In the A-10C I can only get approximately 82% RPM (Fan Speed) and about 270 knots with full throttle. Any ideas on what may be causing this problem? I have tested the F-5E and Viggen, and I am able to get max power in those aircraft.

I installed the CH Control Manager software, and calibrated all of my CH hardware. I was able to calibrate the Mini-Hat (Mini Joystick) and it works correctly now. Although it did wipe out all of my Control Mapping. Not that big of a deal, but it will have to be done for all my aircraft.

I have tried using a larger deadzone and changing the curve on the Mini-Hat, however, it is still not functional. The radar cross keeps moving in what ever direction the mini-hat is moved. Not sure why CH would make a control that is so sensitive. To bad it doesn't work like a normal Hat Switch. Any other suggestions?
-
I tried using a 15 curve and 5 deadzone for the mini-hat mapped to radar stick. It didn't work. When I tap the mini-hat in one direction the radar cross just keeps moving. I must be missing something.

Thanks for your help. Which modifier do you use for RB-05?
-
Thank you. How do you have the mini-hat mapped? What are you using it for?
-
I have a new Pro Throttle, and am trying to setup control mapping. I am finding that the mini-hat switch on the Pro Throttle is very sensitive and hard to control when using it with the Viggen module. I tried mapping it to the RB-05 missle, and the Radar Stick, but neither work well. Has anyone successfully mapped the mini-hat, and if so how are you using this control?

I have encountered the same issue.

I agree with your assessment and have noticed the same issues.

The first step in starting an Aircraft is to make sure that there is a power source; battery or external power. Matt seems to have skipped this step in his start-up video, although the Aircraft was obviously powered.

Practice Missions Now Available!
Chops replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Thank you, I am running the latest 1.5 version and just updated yesterday. Please give me some detailed instruction on how to access the Practice Missions. For example: When I start the Campaign, how do I access the Practice Missions? How do I access the Practice Missions outside the Campaign? The information provided in the above posts, does not seem to work for me. -
Practice Missions Now Available!
Chops replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
I purchased the BFTQ from ED when it first came out. I don't see any training missions in the Campaign or under single Missions. How do I get the Training Missions? -
In OpenBeta 1.54 the flight controls do not work in the Cold Start training missions. The flight controls work normally, in Instant Action, and Hot Start missions.
