Unfortunately not. You need to get TrackIR or use the POV on the joystick to change view whilst moving the crosshair with the mouse.

Good comment; Suggest that the speed was reached for only a few seconds and then the turn was to the left. If he had turned right, then rotors would have collided. Try it in the sim.

RTFM. You should have downloaded the English version by now. In the real world, mission planning takes about 2 hours on a PC at your base. You then create a disc/cartridge and load it into your aircraft. The interesting thing about the Ka-50 ABRIS is that you can do mission planning in the aircraft. The reason being that you may have to land away from base, and create a new mission plan, or even do it in the air. -
Making the KA50 available to other nations
JimMack replied to masonator's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Sorry, the boxed version will not have the printed manual. The manual will be sold separately, it is 2 inches thick and would not fit in a DVD case. Regarding the price of the manual, we are still awaiting quotes from the priinters before declaring a price. Suffice to say, someone in the USA got a quote from Kinkos of $300, and I personally spent £50 (say $75) on print cartridges, printing it on my home inkjet printer! -
I suggest we all look carefully at Windows 7 reports; See http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=107030 Microsoft has a problem in that corporates have not upgraded from XP. though they managed to convince OEM's to bundle with new consumer PCs. I have never upgraded a Windows OS until after 12 months from release. I test Black Shark on XP and Vista. Only to identify where Vista is inferior to XP.

Making the KA50 available to other nations
JimMack replied to masonator's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Here is the process: Distributors present the game to the chief buyers of retail chains in their country. Chief buyers then consult with their stores. Chief buyers then give sales estimates to the Distributor. Distributor then advises Publisher (i.e. TFC/ED) how many to manufacture. Game is manufactured, and then has to be delivered to Distributor, who then delivers to retail chains, who then deliver to the shops. About 2 months! -
I guess you have seen this configuration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL9dLB_5dT0 The Ultimate would be a simpit with this Kit!

Making the KA50 available to other nations
JimMack replied to masonator's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I am sure a modder in the future will be able to do this. As regards buying the boxed version of DCS:Black Shark, we have finalised or about to sign final contracts with distributors in every continent of the world [Exception: South America - if anyone has any contacts with distributors in South America, please pm me]. And Canada, you will have option of buying the English or French version, including the full manuals - (that has taken a lot of translating by our superb French translation team) -
Making the KA50 available to other nations

Do you mean the real aircraft or the simulation? -
Please note that additional aircraft/helos will not be add-ons in the traditional sense. If you wish to buy the A-10C as a stand-alone title, without having already bought Black Shark then you will be able to so.
-
It was a mockup, that has to be submitted to the various age rating authorities. You would not believe the amount of paperwork that has to be done to get a product onto retail shelves.

For those going to Bristol, you will be able to fly with this kit:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL9dLB_5dT0 "Ultimate Hardware" A high Res version of the video will go up on this site later in the week in Downloads/Video

You can see why I too really want us to print the manual as quickly as possible! Business Development TFC/ED

The most basic HP colour printer which cost £70! Ink is expensive in the UK if you use proprietary brands.

Good prices! In the UK I just bought a black and a colour cartridge from PC World and they cost a total of £49.99!!

Ground vehicles in DCS and reguarding trees
JimMack replied to graywo1fg's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Please understand that collidable trees is a function of the area to be modelled. Arma has a tenth of the area of the 300,000 sq kms of Black Shark. It is cpu bound. -
By the way - do a search on YouTube "DCS Black Shark" - guerilla marketing campaign has already started.

Advertising and marketing will commence worldwide in magazines and websites in January 2009 to prepare for the release of the DVD boxed version. Apart from a few exceptions (PC Pilot and SimHQ), we do not like releasing code for review until it is final. Jim Business Development TFC/ED

Military specification for graphic displays is 60 fps.

From ED: Please keep posting any errors that you find in the English Manual so that we can ensure that the printed version is nearly as perfect as possibe. Maybe this thread should be a sticky?

Somewhere there is an excellent video (produced I believe by Kamov) of a pilot flying a Ka-50. It has 4 windows: text, HUD, external view, and in-cockpit. You will see by looking at his hand on the cyclic, that he is frequently trimming and untrimming when maneuvering.
