I like it Ivan! How do you keep the collective from moving so freely? Mine wont stay put in that position, it just slides back down to the down position. Is there a way to tighten up the slide of the pro throttle?
-
Yes the motors are more than strong enough to hold the stick when using the trimmer button edit: see this link for the limitations of trim http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=572028&postcount=34 The FCS will not hold the cyclic at an position beyond 20% of it authority over flight controls.

No need they can be found here http://snomhf.exofire.net/frankenForce/intro.html And the original CH hangar thread where I learned about the Franken Force http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3177 I did not build exactly as described in the guide. I did not mount the extra pots in the base but instead wired up a second extension jack which I will use for something else.

Highest Quality Force Feedback Joystick?

Ive finished finished my Franken Force and its awesome..... even with the rudder pedals on the thumb joystick on the CH pro throttle. If you can find a Force FX buy it and build yourself a Franken force. The USB FFB guts can be donated from any FFB stick be it MS, Saitek, or Logitech... They all are based on the same licensed tech from Immersion inc. @ Sepukku he charges $350 +s&h for the left hotas if you dont have your own CH HOTAS setup. If you have a stock CH hotas its $150 +s&h. Its resonable though I dont know what your customs duties are. -

Hopefully q1 2009 corresponding with the release of the boxed edition http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=589600&postcount=46 -
Hind because of its unique troop transpo and CAS roles. There are also a plethora of exported variants so source material regarding avionics and systems is readily available.

I dont see how you think you can sell copyrighted material. Printing your own is one thing but offering to sell a beta version of the english manual on the developers forums when they are planning to release (and sell) a corrected and updated edition is a lil wonky. Would you include the typos and errors? -

My only experience with logitech FFB sticks is with used ones so I expected there to be mechanical slop in the stick due to worn out springs. I just tested my Franken force in the logitech calibration utility and it was night and day compared to my stock logitech FFB joystick. Its very responsive, with a good amount of force and the motors dont make a high pitched squeal that the logitech ones do. I still have to rewire the CH grip and build the extension. The laptop I used to test it in my workshop doesnt have BS on it so I cant speak to its ingame performance. I think the twist rudder design, low quality pots and flimsy mechanical linkages all contribute to the jerkiness and erroneous inputs of logitech FFB joysticks. Its also possible to resolve the "low res" problem with some gearing if your more mechanically inclined. -
New Yorker here... Located in Manhattan. Im still learning to operate this beast but I would definitely be down for some MP training session and possibly a meet up.

urze could you clarify your statement on logitechs low resolution. Is it because of low quality pots or is the board inferior? In my franken force build i am only using the CH pots (6 old and 3 new). Will that help? -

This is what I am building http://snomhf.exofire.net/frankenForce/intro.html My CH 568 gets here tomorrow and ive taken apart the logitech and the CH Force FX. The wiring and soldering is about 1/2 done. Im prolly gonna put a 12-14" extension on it and mount it on a central console with the rudder pedals I will be building with the extra axis. -
None of the above. I tried reading it in PDF and gave up. I printed it out (in booklet format) and bound it into 3 sections cause it was like an inch thick and I only had 1/2" staples. Now I can make notes, and flip to whatever page I need while I am flying for quick reference. Ive read most of it Im sure I havent read everything but damn close ( I mioght have skipped the morse code)

I had a saitek evo (not the FF but the grip looks exactly the same) and i really hated the feel of the build and the smallness. The CH 568 on the other hand is perfectly sized and feals great in the hand. You can always mount a CH 568 on a logitech or ms FF gimbal and get a really nice grip on a decent FF base -

The guy who hosts the software has a video where he tracks up to 4 fingers without having an ir source on a glove. Instead he uses IR reflectors on a glove, I am interested in trying out this method. Would it interfere with a Track IR ( I dont have one yet but i am planning on getting one soon) Here is the video -
The only time i have mouselook and zoom is in training missions. Otherwise the first thing I do when I load a mission is hit Esc then cancel otherwise i can only use the Hat switch to change the view.

Ive got a logitech wingman force 3d you can get them for about $15 on ebay, overstock and some other refurbished goods resellers. They are decent for the price i have one ive take apart for use in a franken force mod i am collecting parts for and another that i am currently useing. A CH USB FF would be awesome. Finding a serial CH FF stick for use in a franken force mod has become next to impossible. I got lucky and snapped one up on ebay for cheap about a year ago. -
Ok think about the printer they have at Kinkos is it a $150 HP scan-fax-print machine or is it a $10k plus dedicated color printer with all the bells and whistles. You may be able to print at home for $40 in paper & a new 4 color ink cartride but your manual probaly will be 393 single sided sheets. But when you need to change 4 color cartridges at $300+ per set every month and staff the machine 24-7 I think 59 cents a page is reasonable. Anyway I used the paper cutter at Kinkos for free to cut the pages of my manual that I printed @ work. No employees hasseled me even though paying customers waited for me to finish using the machine. Not to mention all the other freebies they have laying around :D So while Kinkos counter services may suck if you can DIY they are reasonable.

I was thinking today about something like this. This is awesome!! I am so gonna duplex this and staple it onto the back of my homemade manual!! Oh yeah and rep for you!! -
I have a duplexer on my printer @ work!! I just printed it 4 pages per sheet on 8.5x11. Now I just need to find a paper cutter so I dont have to sit there with a ruler and a razor blade to cut the sheets in half before I bind them. I did this before for Supreme Ruler 2020 which i got Via Download but the manual wasnt 300+ pages!
