Tried it but it sadly didn't work, it still only increases no matter which way I turn the encoder So the code I have for this is just this: DcsBios::RotaryEncoder ufcCom1Sel("UFC_COM1_SEL", "DEC", "INC", 3, 2,); That should just be it right? *edit* Another piece of the puzzle: I tried it with the Bingo fuel set knob, which is also Rotary fixed, and it works fine, so must be something specific with the Harrier radio channel control command.

So I tried this method on a different picture of the front console and came up with a UFC with of 160mm or so, so not sure how reliable it is. I've heard people say there's Dzus under the UFC but I'm not sure if that means the width is also standard Dzus.

I dunno if it's okay to ask question here, but here goes. Been trying to get a rotary encoder to work with the Harrier, and it seems to work fine with variable step encoders, but when I try it with fixed, no matter which way I turn the encoder, the value only increases (in this case it's the radio channel select function). Is that a problem with the module/software or possible me using a wrong type of encoder?

Did you print the letters recessed or raised? Whenever I try printing letters that small they always come out pretty crap but yours look good and readable.

That is indeed very cool...I've just started using the program, so will try that for sure!

Not sure what this means, pretty new to this.

Hmm well it doesn't sound overly complicated, I'll give it a go. Thanks!

Hello. I've just gotten my first 3d printer and getting really excited about making a lot of stuff for a Harrier semi-pit, but I've already hit a snag. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the correct measurements for the panels, knobs, etc...really don't know where to start, is it just mainly guess work or is there some special technique I could use? I'm not looking to have the work already done for me, just need a starting point Planning on making the UFC first and then see if I can do some work on a throttle quadrant. I do have some experience working with CAD programs and planning on using Fusion 360 for most of the designing Any help is greatly appreciated!

This looks amazing, makes me wanna get a 3d printer to make one myself :) What are you going to use for the small screens for the radio channels etc?

Laser MAVs is another reason I wish DCS could be combined with Arma infantry for some truly awesome lasing <3 The ability to fire them off further away than regular mavs does sound like a pretty big deal...but maybe I'm exaggerating that aspect ^^
-
The water is to cool the engines when in VSTOL mode as air is no longer blowing in through the intakes as it would in normal flight.
-
It's a bit off-topic, but I'm a bit unsure as to what the benefits of the laser-guided MAV is, it would seem the regular mavs would be more practical as you can fire several in a row with having to stay locked on a target with the laser. I'm probably missing something.

Wait, they corrected the canopy scratched? didn't even notice...

The gun sounds sooooo good! can't stop firing it...much to the dismay of the people living in Dubai I imagine.

Now I just want animated ground crew :P Especially after seeing animated Pit Crews in iRacing ^^

And yes, complaining about a lack of female ATC etc in the sim might be "first world problems"...but complaining about anything related to the sim is practically first world problems. To many, having female voices may not be "that important" but honestly, is a server crashing or bugs in a module really important in the grand scheme of things?
-
Yeah, because that was a historical game set in a specific time period 700 years ago...DCS is a relatively modern flight sim so bringing up KC:D is a pretty poor comparison here. And actually, no, TV shows and movies aren't attacked for not including one of each of particular unrepresented group, people do however flip out and complain about "political correctness" if one of those sorts of characters are included...like what we saw with the new Star Wars movies or Beauty and the Beast. There are reasons to be concerned about SJW behavior, this is not one of them.
-
Actually a very cool idea, I'd totally support that.

People are seriously overreacting here...it's a pretty simple and reasonable request. I do agree that a female pilot model probably wouldn't look all that different to a male one with all the gear, but doesn't that just mean it would be easier to model? And as long as it's a choice and not forced on you, what's the problem? Now speaking of female ATC, I see absolutely no reason why not...hell, it would generally be cool to have new and better ATC, even with different voice actors so it's not the same dude every time.
