I have exactly the same Problem.... Again. Sadly this Error comes back with every other DCS Update. With the latest Update and Hotfix from 04.Feb DCS keeps Crashing, freezing SteamVR, overloading the VR Compositor or lagging the GPU Driver. What has crashed DCS for me this evening alone: Joining a Server Leaving a Server Rejoining the same Server Looking around in the Cockpit Switching Views Selecting a different Slot/Plane VR Headset: Valve Index CPU: Intel Core i5-11600K at 5.1Ghz RAM: Kingston 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 (2x32GB) GPU: ASUS Nvidia RTX 2080Ti Strix OC DCS is installed on its own 1TB Samsung SSD Nvidia GPU Driver Version 511.65 Windows 11 Pro Build Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000 Steam VR 1.21.7

Just bought all the NS430 DLC. Please release one for the Hind too

After more testing all Fixed Wing run stable and the Helos (Ka-50, Mi-24) Crash my Game. Helos are more intensive on the System do to the closer proximity to the Ground. My guess is DCS overloads the VR compositor or GPU Driver I will wait for the next update and see if there are any changes. Everything else runs stable on my Hardware. Most likely it is some Software nightmare not even necessary DCS. Prime candidate GPU Driver or the usual Windows f*up.

Thanks for the tips. But sadly its nothing of the above. I just flew a Mission with lots of Air and Ground Units without any Crashes or FPS drops. We flew the Mission without any Mi-24 Hind in it. With a sample sice of one. I would say the crash is somehow related to the Mi-24. Tomorrow I will test a few more Missions and fly more different Aircraft to make sure it is a Problem with the Hind. And just for comparison the Log File of the Mission without Crashes. dcs.log

Yes I did. I normally only play on Steam VR Stable. I upgraded to the latest Beta Version to see if there are any improvements in DCS. There are some but DCS is still very unstable. I had no... less problems before the last couple hot-fixes and the last big update.

Steam VR: 1.20.3 [BETA] DCS still crashes but it runs a little longer before doing so. dcs.log

Still the same even after reinstalling the Driver. dcs.log

Sadly i have the same problem again in VR with DCS. The game freezes or crashes. CPU: 11600K RAM: 32GB GPU: RTX 2080Ti GPU Driver: 472.12 VR: Valve Index Steam VR: 1.19.7 Next step I will do is to DDU the GPU Driver and reinstall the same Version. dcs.log

Sorry for digging out this older post but I was thinking it is more reasonable to do so then making a new post because this one still pops up in the Google search result if you search for the NS430 in the Hind. If the NS430 would have VR support for the 2D and 3D model and support for the Mi-24P Hind I would really consider buying it on Steam. Right now without the Support of VR it has no big appeal for me. And I wouldn't mind more Modules included in the Steam Version of the NS430 even if this means the Price would go up. Would only be fair to increase the price if the other 3th Party Modules would be added and VR Support. (Maybe like the A-10C II upgrade-model)

Well... i give up! I tried everything. Nothing seams to help. FPS are bad and the game crashes randomly. The best result I had with an F-5E on the Cold War Server. You could almost call DCS stable while flying the F-5 on the cold War Server. Sometimes I can just fly fine even with planes like the F-14 or F/A-18. Saturday I was flying with the Hornet on the PGAW Server with no crashes. I will just wait for the next Patch and put DCS until then to rest. Strangely every other Game runs just fine. Maybe my Windows needs a fresh install. Wouldn't be the first time that Windows misbehaves :joystick:

@BIGNEWY Is there a config option to turn off the VR Mirror Window? My theory right now is that when a Program has some kind of Game-Overlay it tries to render the Overlay in the VR Mirror on the Desktop and this conflicts with DCS or StemaVR or the way both work together. By turning off all Software I have running that has some kind of Overlay I was able to play even longer until it crashed again. This time maybe it was just a normal Bug that triggered the same behaviour. I was in my F-14 and wanted to turn down the lower Display brightness and in the moment I did the game crashed. I try to reproduce the Bug and i will look if the Game still crashes with other Planes. New Log as usual. dcs.log

After updating to the today released optional Windows 10 V2004 Update (kb4571744) it looks like my DCS/SteamVR stopped crashing. I only had time to join a server just for a little bit but I will test it more in depth later.

After deleting my DCS Savegames Folder and reinstalling DCS and Steam VR still the same. New DCS logs down below. I will try disabling all other Audio Hardware and see if this helps. But my theory is that the Audio Part is just an symptom. dcs.log

After increasing my Pagefile from the Windows assigned 6.7GB to 32GB i was able to stay in the mission for a couple of seconds longer. The outcome was still the same result. Here are the new log. DCS and Steam Logs 2.zip

Hi, I'm having a lot of crashes with DCS lately. (SteamVR crashing, the headset showing a black screen/turning itself off) Tested some Nividia Driver Versions all with the same results. DCS crash during loading mission with F-14B
Thorgs replied to Razorback's topic in Bugs and Problems
My DCS keeps on crashing too. SteamVR/Index screen becomes black and DCS renders with one Frame every couple second in the desktop window. The last crash was when i turned on the Radar on on the bottom Display for the Pilot. Right in the moment where i flicked the switch DCS/SteamVR crashed. Every other VR Game runs fine. CPU: Intel i7 5930k@4.4GHz RAM: 32GB DRR4@2400MHz (in Quad Channel mode) MoBo: Asus X99 Deluxe GPU: Asus Strix RTX 2080Ti@2GHz Nvidia Driver Version: 452.06 DCS has its own SSD. A Samsung 860 EVO 1TB. The SSD is cached with an 250GB M.2 SSD Cache. dcs.log dcs.log.old.log -
With fpsVR off it still behaves exactly the same. (SteamVR crashes) This is what i posted in another post to this issue.

Happens to me too with the newest DCS Update. Tested with the SteamVR Stable and Beta on the Valve Index. On Syria SteamVR randomly crashes and once yesterday on Caucasus it happened while closing the mission and returning to the main menu. While on Syria I had the Taks-Manager running in the background and checked the RAM usage after the crash and in the on case I looked at it the RAM usage was 32GB of 32GB before crashing. Maybe some kind of Memory Leak???? Or just bad luck with this Version of the Syria Map (Beta). Every other VR Game runs fine. CPU: Intel i7 5930k@4.4GHz RAM: 32GB DRR4@2400MHz (in Quad Channel mode) MoBo: Asus X99 Deluxe GPU: Asus Strix RTX 2080Ti@2GHz Nvidia Driver Version: 452.06 DCS has its own SSD. Please help if someone can! Sadly I have the Crosseyed Problem too in DCS and only in DCS! I tried the Debug Tool with not much luck. I can make the Crosseyed effect go away a little bit with the Tool, but it will not go away completely. When I open up SteamVR Home with the Home button while playing DCS i can clearly see how far off DCS still is. I am using the Valve Index with a 2080ti @ 2Ghz and a 5930K @ 4.4Ghz

Hornet MFD Font size In the Standard sitting Position and Zoom Level the Font size is way to big too be readable. :helpsmilie: If I zoom in I can read all the Text better and the Lines become way finer and less fat/bulky. In other Modules I don’t have this problem, not in the A-10c, AV-8b or Mirage for example. I play in 4k and like to just look at my dial gauge and MFD without zooming in too much. Works like a charm in other Modules but the Hornet has some strange features with the Font. If it is an intended Feature can you please make it to a Special-Menu Option so I can turn it off? Thanks for the awesome work! Greetings, -LwG 51 DS- FatCat :joystick:
