May be...... its time this year to start thinking about modeling maps or megamaps implementing submarine environment . This way perhaps some new third party dedicated team could plan a serious Naval development, building other surface units and Submarines . Those are a seriuos threat for a Carrier Battle Group , so ASW task could be fully implemented .

Have you got already the CVN selected ? 68 USS Nimitz ? 77 G.W. Bush ? A good point would be to slave Sea surface state to the selected wind speed/direction set on the Meteo options. We need Pitching Decks ! Also ressuply capability would be cool.

Hey ED I know its pretty soon but, have you in mind to slave Sea state conditions to the Wind preset on the Meteo options . Just because given that we have 2 Carrier DLC on the way, would be quite interesting to be able to trap on Pitching Decks sometimes. Just my thoughts ! Rgds.

Hey guys, having installed World 2.0 , the 1.2 C-101 appears on the menu but I m unable to select Nevada scenery to fly with . Any clue ?

Any chance by NLS to model some controllable Naval Units, like CVs, BBs,DDs or Cruisers even at a later stage ? I know its a huge amount of work but would add a lot of inmersion .

Talking seriously........ we will need a good bandit for the NATO planes actually being developed. The MIG-21 is good but pretty old ! SU-22 ? MIG-23 ? A Backfire ? uhmmmmm

Even in both cases, recreating maps implementing submarine environment will be fully needed . Tell me, what we are going to do piloting ASW platforms against surface vessels . So, that is a quite good point for medium term development, if Iran is implemented somehow, its midget submarines + Kilo class can play an interesting role against a Carrier Battle Group or Commercial traffic . Lets see what is all this bringing us !

So, understand that you will build each different Carrier stant alone or a pack with a couple of them ? If you want my opinnion, would be a lot better a one by one Full Carrier from scratch, so , one carrier one module , and the same way with other Navy units like FFG,DDG,CG,LHD, and so on. I know means a lot of time and resources but, we are not hurry at all !

So ED guys, what can you tell us about ? I am also opening this post to discuss and debate between several Carrier Class options. Assuming Hormuz map is in an advanced status, this can not be very far behind .

Indeed ! Also concerning naval environments,the different sea colors could be watched carefully. Example, REX Sea textures into FSX. You know what I mean guys.

I think is a MUST for a proper F-14 simulation, but as a 80s Air Superiority Fighter, would like a conventional CV built from scratch , with that period tech.

Concerning Hormuz map...... Hi there ED, know that is still bit early and a discussion post will be opened soon but, if I am not wrong into the Hormuz map, the chance to start from a Carrier will exist . So, here goes my question, how will you manage on multi player to allow multiple pilots to be parked on a reduced CVN flight deck . So, will the carrier show up with an empty deck or ? And, could be any possibility to start also from a position down in the hangar bay and come up via the lifters ?

Droping ideas ! A full package - Raffale + Charles de Gaulle CVN - would be awesome also in a not far horizon , but honestly I would bet for separate developments, Air platforms for one side, and Naval content for another, like a Shipyard itself.

Hey Guys ! given that it seems to be an AV8B Harrier wip by a third part. dev, would be a good idea pushing forward Naval Ops implementing a high fidelity controlable R11 Principe de Asturias , some scort like FFG-7 or FFG-100 , all this inmersed into a Med map like Gibraltar Strait + Alboran sea ? Could be a medium term interesting project for DCS World 2 ! Cheers Toni B

Hey guys ! What do you tell me about developing a full E2-C/D Hawkeye ? Would be quite interesting , multicrew capable with working Early Warning Radar + consoles . I think is a MUST in parallel with a Tomcat + Hornet environment + Naval Ops . :)

Our goal with theaters is to not only build a great environment to immerse the player in the game world, but to also try and provide an appropriate framework for the aircraft we create. To achieve this framework, we have to spend a lot of time creating AI Aircraft, Ground and Naval units, all of which represent a huge investment of time and effort. Good ! This is why I would focuse on the 80s fleet with the Tomcat . Not the Tico class CG or Arleigh Burke DDG, but the Belknap CG, Spruance DDG, OHP FFG7 or the Virginia class CGN if you want concerning scorts for a conventional powered CV . A nice feature would be ressuply at sea capability, implementing some kind of AOR . -
But Aeronaval projection has a extremely high relevance on a combat scenery ! This is why I would start planning an improvement concerning DCS Sea + 3 separate development branches, 1- US Navy vessels , 2- Soviet Navy vessels , and 3- Worldwide foreign Navies. Also, for a medium term study try to implement underwater conditions into new maps in order to be able to build Submarines.

Wags talk about a "DLC Carrier" on the Aug 23 2015 update, waiting some data about them. Good news indeed ! I think individual Ship DLC are a lot better, concerning detail, operational capability and accuracy. :thumbup:

A full E-2D Hawkeye with working radar/consoles would be desirable . We need vectoring the Hornets and Cats towards their targets ! :)

Indeed, a somehow controllable CVN 65 would be great, with a California class CGN for scort and both inmersed into a large Hawaian Islands scenery ! We will need Pearl Harbour in DCS W2. :)
