[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
capthaltli replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
all good after SSA did its update last night. -
Would be nice if that became the default. You can do it manually, see here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170379

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators

Same issue here, the latest Windows 10 update bonked my SSA. -
I agree, when I saw the videos, besides my jaw hitting the floor, I thought the HUD seemed a little too dark. I was thinking DCS would get input from the real world Hornet pilots they have access to for development in order to get the HUD hue and opaqueness right.
-
Great addition and worth the small investment. For VR flyers it is a must.

With the pilot body now being modeled, any chance we could have the kneeboard pages/charts (from the kneeboard folder) shown on the pilots leg at resolution we can read? Also be able to control the content on the kneeboard pages with the built in kneeboard controls (next page, previous page)? Thought it could be cool to actually use the kneeboard and have to look at my "virtual leg".

MFDs on separate monitor or Ultra MFCD Help please!

+1 as well, this would be very much appreciated. -
That worked, thanks Gladman!

This might be more a sound question than VR, but with my oculus rift, whenever I go to an external view the sound is too loud and I have to physically move the ear buds. In the cockpit the sound level is fine. Anyone have this issue and know how to lower the external sound volume but keep the cockpit sound level the same? Thanks!

I tried flying at night in 2.5 with VR, it is pitch black now. So I guess they got rid of the orange horizon at all times of night.

With the recent VFA-87 livery pics posted by Wags, thought I would share for fellow "War Party" members!

Bravo Zulu on the updates WAGS and team! It makes the waiting just a little bit easier.

If I remember correctly, I pulled it from a T-45 CQ qual briefing, which may have been from the CV NATOPS.

I am trying to build a generic CASE I CV traffic pattern with a few problems and wanted to get some tips. So the goal is to setup the AI traffic in the CASE I pattern so that you can join (get in formation) and then proceed with a CASE I recovery and land on the carrier. See the attached pic for the basic pattern per US Navy. The idea is to have two F/A-18C at the same altitude (e.g. 2000) at opposite ends of the oval pattern (port overhead holding pattern). Seems simple. My first issue is creating an oval/circular orbit for the aircraft to fly. I setup waypoints in the mission builder, but the aircraft end up flying more or less a rectangle pattern due to the limitations in the editor (point and line between waypoints). Next issue is the AI aircraft seem to be engaging their afterburners after every turn and have pretty erratic airspeed and AoA behavior, which makes it hard to fly formation on the AI aircraft (I've reduced fuel weight with no change). I set the AI aircraft in the mission builder to fly a GS of 270 while in the pattern, not sure why they are having such a hard time with that speed and flying smoothly. Once I get these issues addressed I would build a full stack of aircraft (hornets, tomcats, prowlers, vikings, and hawkeyes) at the correct altitudes to complete the recovery package. The bigger issue, which I've raised before, is the AI do not know how to fly a correct carrier pattern (distance and altitude). But hopefully that will be addressed with the release of the F/A-18C. Thanks for any tips or advice on how to replicate the basic CASE I recovery stack that offers consistent/smooth AI flights in an oval pattern.

Obviously a little ways off, but this has me encouraged that one day in VR we may fly with gloves that give tactile/force feedback response. Could be really cool for a cockpit and flippin switches.

One thing that I have found pretty immersion breaking is the need to copy the 9 Line coordinates while flying in VR (A-10C JTAC instructions). Obviously one can try to peak through the nose gap and write down the coordinates, but I wanted to see if anyone has come up with a better way to do this and offer two suggestions since this will also be an issue with the upcoming F/A-18C. One option is to capture the JTAC 9 Line instructions and display them via the built in Kneeboard, by creation of a new page. This new kneeboard page would have to be dynamic so it could change each time you get a new 9 line. Another option, much harder probably to implement, is to create a virtual kneeboard/scratchpad you could write on using the Touch sensor as a Pen. With the 9 Line and upcoming CASE III recovery instruction, having the ability to write down or get access to instructions one would write down will be helpful in VR. Thoughts?

Hollywood, would it be possible to add an option in preferences to increase the volume beyond "background level" for chatter? This way if you want to have the chatter louder you could select it louder, and if not you can keep it the way it is (low volume). I really like have the Navy Chatter during practice carrier ops, but the volume is very low, even with the 50% master volume. Thanks.

Thanks Gruman!

Has anyone got this trick to work using DCS 2.5 Beta?

So I am a 8K backer, and currently have a 1080. I figure by the time PIMAX ships the final headset, it will be close to when the Nvidia VOLTA is available (summer time) and that would be better than updating to a 1080ti in the interim. Also I've see the ti have gone up in price recently with all the bitcoin mining. Anyone else waiting for the VOLTA to use with PIMAX?

Thanks Rage, hopefully this next stage for VR aligns nicely with the launch of the DCS F/A-18C hornet! Glad you help connect Pimax to DCS. The stars are aligning

Very exciting times! Does anyone know if the free updated carrier that may come out will at least have a working IFLOLS? Or is the OLS only going to be part of the advanced carrier? Just curious when I will be able to "call the ball" again in DCS :)

Hollywood all good now! I had the keyboard shortcuts disabled in VA

Hollywood, nice work! I've got 2.5 Pro working in DCS (recognizes my commands :)), but the issue I am having is I cannot open the the plugin configuration window with LCtrl+LAlt+C. I've tried using my keyboard several times and the virtual keyboard with and without DCS running and the pop up window does not appear. Is there another way to open the plugin configuration window? Thanks!

Nice work Hollywood! I am buying!
