  1. How do I turn off the "AOCS" will read out the current mission brief?
  2. Does DCS BIOS work with GoFlight modules? I currently use GFKeys, but looking to change it up maybe.
  3. what does functional mean? That your floating kneeboard is now located on the leg and can be switched between pages while still on the pilot's leg?
  4. Now that we have wake for air refueling tankers, is ED planning to add the Burble effect to the carrier? Maybe the paid carrier that is dependent on wind strength and direction? Adding another challenge to landing on the Boat. Thanks!
  5. Strange one. I have the Reverb, running Steam VR (mixed reality) and Windows Mixed Reality. My mouse was working fine, but now after adding DCS mods that worked fine with my Rift, my mouse is all goofed up, see attached pics. The mouse is not a white dot/circle anymore, instead it is now it is a square with a larger shadow and in the jet it is a black cross with a green circle. I've tried doing a DCS repair, and unistalling and reinstalling Steam VR and WMR add on in steam. No joy. Any ideas?
  6. Here's hoping the effect can also be added to the Carrier, to create the "Burble" effect.
  7. FIST Aviators having some fun (CSG-1) and recreating some of the French Navy Chill video posted the other week. Enjoy! Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | https://discord.gg/eUKHe2
  8. curious to see how your comparison goes, keep us posted.
  9. The carrier (Stennis or payware carrier) is gonna need the Barricade to replicate that part of the book! Here's hoping :)
  10. Can you share your settings for PIMAX 5K+, DCS PD, PiTools render %, and SteamVR settings? I have my 5K+, but don't find the clarity much better than my rift, but my settings could be too low.
  11. I have have Pitool and Steam VR running when I launch DCS, works fine now.
  12. OK, got a little time to test out the 5K+, some good and not so good things to report. First it is definitely a step in the right direction with the FOV and resolution bumbs over my Rift. I used a PD of 1.2, PiTools at 1.25, and SteamVR 100%. I have a decent rig (with "only" a 1080ti and a solid processor) and was pretty impressed with the frame rates I got last night, granted it was only SP and around the boat. The first thing I tested, was to see if the Ball on the stennis was any clearer at 3/4 of a mile, sadly it was about the same in my opinion as the rift. The HUD, cockpit DDIs and switches labels are definitely clearer/shaper (don't need to move my head forward to read) compared to the Rift, but the distance view is about the same for me. My biggest issue so far is that I can't seem to get the headset in the sweet spot in terms of the optics. The way it sits on my head and nose just seem off, and I tried to play with the basics straps they give you, but it never felt right (definitely would not work for an two hour mission). This is compared to the Rift, which the optics and erogonmics just work better for my eyes and head. The IPD settings also seem off as I couldn't find a value that felt right (could be related to the issue I am having with how it sits on my head). I am curious how others experience goes when they get their headset. I think with a better quality headstrap (with headphones and microphone built in, another one of my complaints) it might get better. I also do not have my vive trackers setup for 6 DoF, which impacts my full review. I am working to get this setup and will start using it more for my flying once I have the trackers working. I am using the built in tracking, but it feels strange not having the full range of motion when compared to my rift. Let me know if you have any questions, but thought I would give you my impressions so far. Keep the faith.
  13. Thanks Toutenglisse! I followed your advice and now my Pimax 5K+ is working with DCS!!!
  14. Got my headset on Friday as backer ~1600. FYI, I fly DCS beta 2.5 (recent update, hot fix this weekend) and have used the Rift since it released, and can get it to work fine with DCS. Regarding my Pimax 5K+, I've got the headset running and connected to the computer, resolution looks great and amazing FOV from what I can see in the steam VR room. I am new to PiTools and SteamVR, but got them both installed and show VR ready and PIMAX detected and setup. When I try to luanch DCS I get a DX11 error see attached pic for details (sorry pic of my monitor). Looking online, it seems this has happened to folks in the past with DCS (nothing to do with PIMAX), so I made sure SSA is turned off and lowered the resolution in DCS to 1920x1080. I’ve done both in the options.lua, but I still get the error and can't get into the game. I don’t think this is a Pimax issue, probably a steam vr issue. I noticed Occulus Home starts up when I try to start DCS with SteamVR and pitools running. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts? Sad I can't see what DCS looks like in the headset, but I know I must be close. Thanks for the help.
  15. I understand how to turn the Stennis carrier lighting via the voice comm menus (approaching to land, etc), but is there a way to turn the carrier lights on by default (no need for comm menus) by editing the .lua or another means? thanks for any help.
  16. Same issue, oculus Rift. Any chance of fixing before the next Jan 16th update?
  17. I am a backer (~1600) and have recieved notificaion of shipment from Pimax on my 5K+
  18. From the newsletter today! Virtual Reality Update We see VR as an amazing tool to enjoy DCS World and the future of PC gaming for many. To make DCS World even better, we’ve been working on some great VR improvements that include: Optimized VR performance. Touch control that allows direct finger interaction with cockpit controls. Touch control to allow the right and left Touch controllers to act as stick and throttle when positioned correctly in the virtual cockpit and holding down the middle-finger button. These will provide a much more immersive VR experience, particularly for those flying warbirds and other aircraft that do not require HOTAS controls. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3706594 Really hope to see better perfromance and direct finger interaction! Hope they post some video of this soon.
  19. Great to hear this will be an option for us VR folks!
  20. Thanks, where is the default.lua file located?
  21. On the Figther Pilot Podcast with WAGS, Vincent mentions to WAGs that he likes to reset the Peak G indication on the HUD by hitting the Reject 1 then going back to Normal HUD, it sounded like he wanted to clear the Peak G clutter you can hear it at 53:30 "I always did this since I hated looking at Peak G at this point". I tried this on the Hornet, it definitely resets the Peak G on the HUD, but then displays a Peak G of 1.0 under the Current G. Is this correct? It sounds like it would reset Peak G, remove it from the HUD until you go over the Peak G limit (e.g. 4.5)
  22. I am having the same issue as WhiskeyBravo with the latest DCS update. I reverted to the default VRscene in the interim.
  23. do you need to set the Oculus debug tool everytime, or is it a one time thing?
  24. Hi Alerax, Awesome, thanks for getting this started, I look forward to trying this out. Are you familiar with Serge's vLSO program for FSX and P3D? See here https://vlso.blogspot.com/ This was the holy grail for us flying on those platforms, and it looks like you are getting this started in DCS, thanks! I worked with Serge on getting multiple real world LSO audio clips, and have hundreds of wav files that I can send you if you want, it helps mix up the calls so it doesn't always sound like the same "right for lineup" or "power" for example. Bravo Zulu!
