  1. It would be part of the briefing before getting to the jet. That way the Pilot and RIO are on the same page.
  2. At least for the radio repeaters, there are grey knobs on the lower right of each panel that you can use to turn the brightness down. The ACM panel is controlled on the Right hand side lighting panel where the Console/Instrument switches are located, turning that down should decrease their brightness. it's been several weeks since I've flown at night, but make sure you're adjusting the ACM control at the top of the panel. http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/cockpit.html#master-light-control-panel
  3. To add to what Whiskey11 said, if you had Jester tune it, make sure you’re on the proper modulation. I’ve had issues where he doesn’t set it to FM or AM as required.
  4. We have been having the same issue with our dedicated server for our group. We pared the mission back to the basest essentials, and the longest we were able to get the server to stay up was 2 hours. It then, within 3 minutes, went from 54% memory usage of the 32GB of RAM on the server to 98%, and caused it to crash.
  5. Slightly off topic: Good job on the slope and lineup. The only thing it looks like you need to improve on from the screenshot is your time in the groove, it’s about 20 seconds too long. On topic: it’s a bummer that the replay isn’t working so you can watch it and see what you did to be able to critique the full approach
  6. That was the step I was missing. Thank you!
  7. I'm still unable to get the Grid and the Scan sector commands to function. I am unable to import them into the Voice Attack Profile, so tried creating them manually, unsuccessfully. It seems that there is a missing .vap file. Where can I find it? It does not seem to be in the VAICOM\Export\ folder, as the only .vap files in there are from September. Is it in a new place>
  8. I'm not able to find the .vap for the AIRIO that includes the Grid for the Map Markers. I reinstalled the 2 files from the VAICOMPRO site
  9. If VAICOM and AIRIO are up to date, and you followed the instructions to add the command, the phrase to use is “Map marker X to steer point X” or “Target” for Surface Target or “Initial” for IP (this one I’m not 100% on) or “Fixed point” for fixed point or “Defended point” for DP. There’s not an option for Hostile area that I’m aware of. Hoping that comes with the update to let us tell Jester to use NavGrid
  10. You need to fix your trim. It’s supposed to be 2 degrees nose up according to the cat launch training mission (I believe that’s where I remember that information from, all the reading about the Turkey that I’ve done blends together). As modeled, when on the cat with full flaps, it goes to almost 10 degrees nose up, which is going to cause a massive headache when you come off the end of the rail.
  11. So after I tune to the frequency, I say “Select (Texaco, Arco, Shell, etc.)” And then any other commands you send to it with the tanker name will be recognized appropriately. @Hollywood_315: My experience with this has been in situations when there are multiple tankers on the map. If there’s a single one, it typically works after tuning to the correct frequency. But if there are multiple tankers in the map, on separate frequencies it requires the select command to be said in order to get it to respond. A similar thing happens when there are multiple AWACS as well, it requires a select command to be said before they will respond to any calls
  12. I’ve had similar issues. The fix for me has been to use the select command before calling the tanker even though I have easy comms off and have dialed in the proper frequency, even if its the only thing on the frequency
  13. Thanks for the suggestion, but it is not working. Gives me the Options, and when I select move, it still does not appear or allow me to drag it around. @Agent_Wolf: Double checked because I never had it enabled to start minimized or minimize to system tray, and those options are still disabled. Edit: And then I did it a second time, and it appeared. Thanks for the help!
  14. Updated VA and now my VAICOM configuration window will not open. Edit: To clarify, it tries to open, but stays as a minimized window, and if you hover over it to preview the screen, it is blank.
  15. It may be a silly question, but did you fuel the jet? A lot of multiplayer servers don’t have fuel in the jets.
  16. This is something that I’ve run into twice with my left engine in multiplayer with my squadron. I haven’t been able to reproduce it in Single Player. The first time it was at startup and after the engine had settled and I removed ground air, the second time I was in the air doing a wagon wheel bombing practice, and as I rolled in on my first pass, the left engine shut down.
  17. Ah, gotcha.

    JDAM?

Any plans to add it in the future? It was first dropped in Afghanistan by an F-14B Tomcat in 2001/2002.
  19. Open vaicom back up and turn off the disable menu option in the AIRIO EX settings column
  20. Absolutely you are, and I appreciate it. Your suggestion did make me reconsider other options, SRS mapping was fine. I did find the problem. It was having ICS Hot Mic checked in the AIRIO EX settings tab. Edit: I swear I tried this previously, but guess not. I genuinely do appreciate the help. I do tech support for a living, and always get the need to ask every question because sometimes it’s something simple overlooked. Your suggestion wasn’t the cause, but did put me on the path to getting it solved, so thanks a lot!
  21. I have it set to the right frequency. I know how to use it, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to communicate with the ATC using the actual menu. The radio repeater in VAICOM shows 000.00 no matter what I actually have it tuned to, and shows that it’s sending on TX5 no matter which radio button I hit
  22. Currently running into an issue where any commands I speak will only transmit over TX5 - Intercom. This is preventing me from communicating with ATC/Tankers/etc. I can see on the PTT window that it recognizes that I'm pressing the correct TX1/TX2, shows that I'm in the F-14 module, the only thing that does not show, and I wonder if this is the cause of the trouble, is the Frequency that the radio is tuned to. Happens in Single or Multi player, with or without SRS running.
  23. My shirts just arrived today! NY, USA
  24. Still haven’t got mine in New York, USA. Gonna give it a shot. No whammies!
  25. They put notes in the big update to 2.5.5 that they added a yaw moment to the jet with the fuel probe extended. Edit 2: Added slight yaw moment due to fuel probe deployment Edit 3: The link that came from: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3937948&postcount=59
