Wish what you are saying is true, but it is not the case. There are folks on the same server in 2d and VR (headset dependent) who are complaining in the forums about how the spotting dots are too big and not good for game play or immersion. There are also others using the Pimax Crystal on these two servers who are experiencing the same lack of spotting dots as I am. BTW: I posted this question on both DCS and Reddit forums, a few of the responses advocated reducing the headset resolution, the pixel density in DCS, and removing all anti-aliasing. Running with DCS pixel density reduced to .8, the Pimax headset resolution set to 80 percent, spotting dots set to 2, and no anti-aliasing (DLSS, MSAA, etc.) I can now see spotting dots almost as well as my wingman. The downside to these settings is that the outside of the cockpit visuals look really bad, but they are good enough to at least for me to maneuver and enter the fight with better situational awareness. It also important to note that when flying in this configuration with Spotting Dots disabled, I do lose the spotting dots.

That is true, the problem is that even with artificial spotting dot being superimposed over the aircraft itself in the Pimax Crystal that still results in pretty much no dots being visible in MP servers (even with 2x Dots Size enabled).

Hi, I wish the problem resolution was as easy as "The server has the spotting dots turned off", my Wingman uses a HP Reverb G2 in the two servers that we normally fly in (Contention Cold War / Heatblur Cold War) and his sees the spotting dots great whereas I see nothing using my Pimax Crystal OG. I think the issue is related to High-Res headsets and finding the right settings. Thanks for the input...

Pimax Crystal VR and No Spotting Dots in Multiplayer Servers Looking to see if anyone might have an answer to this issue - I fly/fight in Multiplayer servers using my OG Crystal VR Headset and I have been unable to find a setting that allows me to see spotting dots. I have two systems one with a 14900K CPU, RTX 4090 GPU, 64GB Ram, and the other system has a 9800X3D CPU, RTX 5090 GPU, 64GB Ram. Running Win 11, latest drivers, and the most recent version of DCS. I have Dots set to 2 and have tried every possible DCS setting and still can't see spotting dots with any consistency. I'm looking for examples of DCS/PIMAX/Nvida settings that folks are using that work (allows you to see the dots) with their systems. I should add that I can see great spotting dots in Instant Action F-16 Ready on the Ramp, planes transition from airframes to dots at about 2nm and are clearly visible out to around 9nm. Thanks,

Thanks, that worked...

When you get a chance, I'd like to hear how you are able to start DCS without SteamVR also starting. I have tried setting Oculus as the runtime, but SteamVR still starts when I open DCS using a clean execute ("C:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe") or your modified execute ("C:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR). Feel free to PM me or answer here... Thanks

I'm confused, what would be the benefit of running OpenXR over SteamVR. It was my understanding that you ran OpenXR because it 1) required less overhead than Steam (giving higher FPS and maybe better latency), and 2) it provided better visuals over Steam. Also, when following the OpenXR configuration guide for my Reverb G2 one of the first rules was not to start anything related to Steam...

Thanks for the reply, the main problem turned out to be a misconfiguration on my part - I had the receive attenuation set to 100 percent which effectively killed of all receive audio. The garbled/distorted transmit also was related to a settings issue.

Anyone else having problems with Discord audio when using Pico 4 on DCS World? I can get DSC-SRS, DCS in-game audio, and Voice Attack to all play well together when flying, but I'm unable to find a way to get Discord mic (input) or speaker (output) to work. I've tried configuring all of the available options: Pico Streaming Virtual Audio, Oculus Virtual Audio Device, and Virtual Desktop Audio - I get no input to the mic and no output to speakers. I'm having the same issue no matter how I'm connected - Wifi, USB, or ethernet using Virtual Desktop or Streaming Assistant. Today I tried just bringing up Discord only while in the Pico headset and on Steaming Assistant via USB, no matter input/output device I selected I was getting garbled/distorted audio when in Discord. Note: Discord works fine in DCS when using other audio input / output devices (Airpods, HP Reverb G2, Rift-S, etc.). - Help

I'm trying to figure out the "and is it OpenXR" addition to your DLSS/NVIDIA question?

Hi BIGNEWY, I tried running the logman stop HolographicShell -ets command via Win 11 CMD Prompt (as Sys Admin) and I get a "Data Collector Set was not found" error. Is the HolographicShell only used in Win 11 Insider Preview release? Thanks

I’ve been using the TM Warthog HOTAS for years, and recently upgraded to the WinWing Orion F-16 HOTAS. I’ve only been using the WinWing HOTAS for a little over a week and find the joystick spring noise (on all axis) very distracting (the noise also has the effect of making me think the joystick is sticking, but this could just be mental). So here are my questions – 1) Is the spring noise normal or did I just receive a faulty unit, and 2) if the spring noise is normal, does it lessen with age/use of the joystick. Here the link to a vid that I uploaded showing the sound that I'm getting - WinWing Joystick Noise (streamable.com) Thanks

Quick Question: After downloading via http://download2328.mediafire.com/1izyj2o715yg/y11s5glju95k13l/Rafales+Pack+2.5.6.55960+et+OB+2.5.6.57530.7z and unzipping the file package, I only see the DCS World Release version (2.5.6.55960). How/where do I download the DCS World Beta version (2.5.6.57530)? BTW - Great work...

Viacom Pro Issue I've been trying to troubleshoot a problem that I've been having with VoiceAttack/Viacom Pro. When in DCS World (Multi-player or Instant Action), within 50 seconds of obtaining an aircraft Voice Attack toggles to "Listening Suspended". I toggle the mic back on, and within 50 seconds I get the Listening Suspended again. With the Plugins Disabled on VoiceAttack everything works fine. I've followed the installation instructions in the manual, re-downloaded and re-installed Viacom, ensured that Viacom is correctly pointed to my DCS World folder and that ob is checked. I'm not sure where else to look, any help would be greatly appreciated.
