  1. Maybe the kid was just a lightweight lol, couldn't hack the session. (jk)
  2. I don't know the correct financial terminology for it, but is the overall Armed Forces budget in the US decided BEFORE allocation of funds, or is it adaptable to the various projects? For instance, was the Defence Budget expanded prior to the F-22 project, or did the F-22 project 'eat up' funds that otherwise would have been available to other things?
  3. My gf had a filling last week and came back in tears, poor lass. Maybe we should have self-medicated together beforehand lol.
  4. A VERY interesting weapon. Just checked Wiki, here's some quotes (obviously not concrete truth, but an eye opener none the less). Features a dual-charge to counter reactive armour. Nasty Nasty Nasty. According to the first link its being used with a 1000lb Paveway 2 and the Mauser cannon. If it is as capable as it is claimed, coupled with the Alarm missile it seems that not all of our 'BAe or else' schemes are a waste of money.
  5. So the Apache Longbow (AH-64D) is a fourth generation attack helicopter, with practically an all-weather capability, and fire-and-forget missiles. Is an upgraded Mi-28N (designated 'NM') really fifth generation? It seems to me that with some possible orders for the Mi-28N Russia is upgrading it's capibilites to match those of the Longbow. Thing is that the Longbow's been around for a good decade now, and Russia have been in a bit of a military technology freeze, so how can the MI-28NM be upgraded to match it?
  6. He has plasma stealth on, it's a modded IE. Only the current website is visible to the human ear!
  7. Here's the official patch for Wales. Whales are more difficult to design for as they don't shop in many service stations on the motorway. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.movie-stuff.co.uk/acatalog/tn-15580.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.movie-stuff.co.uk/acatalog/National_Flag_Iron_On_Patches.html&usg=___Q0V2pIuEgvxKJ-1AgveFnA708U=&h=165&w=125&sz=10&hl=en&start=129&um=1&tbnid=R61ipQnS9XvYoM:&tbnh=99&tbnw=75&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwelsh%2Bpirate%2Bpatch%26start%3D126%26ndsp%3D21%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
  8. Hehehe There's a lot to be sorted in this patch, but i'm saying April - sods law. Interesting to see how namy pessimists we have on the forums lol..
  9. I wasn't being arkward mate, I just didn't know! What do you mean, highly jammed? As in full of ECM?
  10. What a bone argument. Nobody can possibly be right! There's no such thing as a 'literal' translation, unless it is a noun. Translated literally (using a dictionary) it should most likely be 'watch'. Translated [to a single word] to keep the meaning as similar as possible, it should most likely be 'check'. To say it's 'more realistic' to use 'watch' is just silly, neither one is more realistic than the other. She sounds like a cat anyway. 'waaaaaach ekreaaaaaaaan' Meeeeaow!
  11. So what can an attack helicopter do that a team of UAV's can't?
  12. I suppose the irony is that the only people who KNOW it should be 'Watch Ekran' already speak Russian. Funny how it works, lol.
  13. RAH-66 Recon/Attack Edit, good point though. But I wouldn't say it has a limited capability.
  14. I suppose if you want 100% realism you have to play it in Russian, everything else is merely a subjective translation. Check or watch, no big deal. I have a hunch if it'd been made 'Check Ekran' somebody would have said 'thats not realistic though!', hence why it's 'Watch Ekran' lol Having given it a thought i'd prefer check, but no huge deal for me! Don't you think she sounds like a cat?
  15. Jpm, perhaps you could find some colour pictures of the Free French Air Force?
  16. I think they'll stick more buttons on it, the difficult bit being the force feedback aspect. I've never driven a fork-lift truck or a digger, but they (luckily) seem to have similar or more complicated hotas setups than fighter planes! EDIT: well .. sort of..
  17. We obviously don't need to know their position seeing as we found them so quickly lol
  18. To understand the rise of Hitler, and therefore the European aspect of WW2, you need to look at WW1. Unfortunately it's not as simple as 'Hitler did it,' or 'the German people did it'. It's never wise to discuss something like this and especially not on a multi-cultural forum, as everyone has varying experiences. If people are interested in a debate I suggest reading a book on the inter-war years, as it will teach you more about wartime Germany than any book involving the war itself. That isn't aimed at anyone, it's just that this is such a poigniant thread I don't think anyone wants to trivialise it by having a debate.
  19. A very interesting thread this. I found a few more here, if you looked on Google i'm sure you'll have seen them. http://demonicious.com/20090210/wwii-in-pictures/ That seems like an oxymoron to me, and very immature, but it doesn't lessen the effect of the pictures.
  20. OT: I think if you were good, you could do similar with the AI Blackhawks lol
  21. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh it just got me too, it's done it a few times but I thought i'd cracked it! I started the mission, realised I hadn't turned TrackIR on, exited (after unpausing - i thought this saved the mission state to 'replay'), restarted game - reverted to Previous Mission! I wouldn't really mind, but i've just copied down in detail onto a notepad the mission brief, threats etc (as you can't print it out). This is a real PIA to be honest. I wanted to finish the campaign rather than fly the missions individually, but it looks like it's going to be an uphill battle to do that.
  22. The best thinking I have heard in a long time. The stick looks brilliant. Not holding my breath though, any idea of a release date? I don't speak Dutch, which was on the link. Edit: apologies, missed this
  23. There's always one who has to spoil it! EtherealN gets his rep points back!
