ms ff wheel pedals possible in black shark?
CE_Mikemonster replied to matcat's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well your products aren't supported on Vista, but that doesn't mean they won't work. I'm out of ideas really and it's getting late here, but Google for solutions. Somebody will have made software/drivers or found some way of getting it at least basically functional. Also search these forums for posts about your joystick. Any help post back here, but you'll have to help yourself mate. Search Search Search lol, MM -
Black Shark interview at Rock, Paper, Shotgun!

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=10230&highlight=dynamic+campaign&page=3 Hawg 11's post on the subject, back in 2005. Anyone who hasn't played a game with a working DC will not understand how immersive they are, and how much more fun the sim CAN be. -

One controller at a time? What controllers are plugged in, and are they GamePort or USB? -
When a wingman flies directly overhead, are the effects of downwash modelled? i.e. Will your aircraft struggle to maintain altitude? I was hovering at the FARP and for one reason or another one of my Wingmen flew over, and I can't recall any turbulence. I remember reading of the chaos caused to a Lynx helicopter on finals when a Chinook flew over it in forward flight, just got me thinking. I couldn't find anything using the search function - if i'm using the wrong terminology please forgive me!

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=97d044f9-6f55-4804-9cf0-f97c5d5f891b&DisplayLang=en Just had a quick look, looks as if they stopped supporting your product at windows 98 - that driver package is 2001! Not to worry - if you D/L that software package and try and install it what happens? Right click and set 'Compatibility' to Windows 98. Disable 'Desktop Composition' and make sure you 'Run As An Administrator.' -

Yeah, Vista-64 same as you. To clarify though, I don't have a Microsoft wheel, mine is Thrustmaster. -

OK, well don't worry mate. The drivers on that CD will probably be as old as the wheel. You say it's a Microsoft Force FeedBack wheel? Go onto the Microsoft website, find the Support section, and find your wheel. Now find a 'Drivers' package. Make sure it's for Vista-64[bit] Download the drivers and install according to the instructions found on the website or in a readme (in the package). Now look for a 'Software' download. If there is one, download this and install the software (Make sure it's for Vista-64). Then go into Game Controllers and see what it says. Fingers crossed, the interface will be different and with more options. -
Unless it's a boat, building mounted helipad, water (for an amphibian), or possibly a moving train.. Hehe

Sorry for the late reply, I know how frustrating this must be. (Gf wanted BBC1 on, and my LCD Monitor messes up the signal lol) Are you using the latest drivers and software for your product, or did you just 'plug [it in] and play'? -

I use the pedals from a FFB wheel I bought on eBay (for £2!, picked it up.) With regard to having two axes, is there a box in the 'Wheel Properties' (in Control Panel), that says anything like 'Operate Pedals Seperately'? My PC sees the pedals as an Y-Axis (Up/Down) and the wheel as an X-Axis (Left/Right) with the box unchecked. -
I started on a FARP in a campaign mission, and upon returning landed on the 'wrong one' of two helipads (not the one I started on, the one my wingie started on). My reasoning was that there were two, and my wingman was behind me, so I approached into the wind and landed at the 'forward' one, thinking he'd land on the other (being behind me and all). Strangely enough he overflew ahead of me and hovered (until I quit the mission). The place he hovered meant that if I were on the 'correct' pad, his position (in relation to me) would have been above the other helipad. Any info? As far as i'm aware ATC don't give a specific pad to each chopper.

How the AI should NOT fly (quite a few pics inside)

HAHAHAHAHA Mine just turn into Combat Carrot, sprouting orange flares whilst closing with the enemy and using Vikhirs ar 2000m range and 250m alt. I am about to practise making them stand-off though, i'll criticise their fighting skill when i've trained enough to be 100% confident in mine :) -
Good shot, I don't think i've ever 'Blown up' an Abrams or a Leopard with 2x Vikhirs yet! Thanks for all the rocket aiming tips! My ears are open :)!

A Poor Man's Dynamic Campaign Engine
CE_Mikemonster replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hahaha SwingKid, you legend! I haven't been around these forums long but came across your name in a few VERY old Lomac posts with regards to a Dynamic Campaign engine [2004ish]. You have my regards. I never played Lomac (F4 instead), so I am out of my depth here.. But I get the impression that a traditionally imagined (read; Falcon 4.0) Dynamic Campaign will be impossible in the DCS AND Lomac engines. A bit like (pardon the phrase) 'trying to polish a turd'. Or possibly trying to make something into something it is not. Is the DCS engine not just a revamped Lomac engine? I really don't mean to ruffle any feathers here, just can't help seeing a lot of similarities between this thread and a few posted 4 years ago regarding Lomac. -
Tactile feedback chair perhaps interesting?

AAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, If I had the £200 to buy it i'd probs have looked, but cheers for the heads up Shrubbo, saved me a lot of time! -
Aye Purg. It maxxed out both my 3.16 cores, however instead of gaining back the 1% or less that was not used by BS (by using FS-Autostart) I overclocked to 3.8GHz. Seemed to do the trick. 'Overclock extreme for the challenge' Good one that mate, lol.

Desert terrain... will it be coming?
CE_Mikemonster replied to GianS's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I loved the desert terrain in Commanche-3, was it Nevada? Rock pillars and all that.. (I'm only 19, will have been something like 12 when I played on it lol) -

fishesses, preciouss.. btw Hitman (having seen your sig), do they put dwarf porn on the top shelf?

That's a hugely great idea, as well as a pickup mounted DShK. I remember a DShK position played a vital role in Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Smaller than a ZSU and it was overlooked.

Hahaha I have a meal that is similar, I call it 'take one carrot and eat as required'
