  1. Does not solve the ssue . As fuel availability is not recorded on kneepad, thus not seen by sim. In RL, the pilot signs for an aircraft and for fuel , from the chief. THen sets totalizer as part of checklist. This differs from type to type. Intent is to make pilot congnizant of fuel at every phase of flight.
  2. Does take perseverance and HOTAS+pedals to learn to fly DCS helicopters. Whenever I am away from DCS, as I was until recently, I refresh my basic skills in UH-1H, and basic fixed wing fast jet in F-5E.
  3. My nosewheel steering is on. When I am taking off or landing, the aircraft, once in high speed roll, above NWS speed, uncontrolably pulls to either left or right side. Running off the runway. NWS and rudder have no effect. Popping the brake parachute actually makes things worse. NWS automaticaly switches off above 40 KIAS ground speed, and switches on below 40. Between 40 and 100 where rudder begins to take effect, the aircraft pull to side without control. Full rudder and even opposite wheel brake do not arrest behavior. This problem is prominent in Nevada/Cold Start so there is no cross wind.
  4. I get that. But the knee pad would still show available fuel. Internal and external. External tank is not registering by the sim.
  5. I am loading full tank. However I beleive the fuel totalizer has to be set mannually in missions. Even though in Quickstart missions it is automatically set.
  6. I guess I am welcome at the party, to which I am late to. But its great that its fixed. I am returning to M2KC after almost a year, and back to DCS after 5 months. I am shocked how much I have forgotten, and how much muscle memory on HOTAS nees to be refreshed. It is 'painfull'. I wonder if real pilots go through that with type re-familirization after absence? What agreement has broken between ED and RAZBAM. I own Mirage ,Harrier II, and S.Atl. I am planning on getting F-15E + F-4E(maybe). Are these all at risk?
  7. Found the error Step 6 is wrong Step 6 should be AG designate.
  8. I have forgotten the intermediate step to how to designate AG target point for MK-82 and SMP-250 freefall bombs. I thought that AG point is designated using NWS buttton. But thats not it. 1. Master Arm: ON 2. Slect BL1 on weapons PCN 3. Weapons CMD FWD 4. Be at 425 KIAS 5. Place HUD AG dioamond over target 6. Press Nosewheel steering button to designate TGT 7. Press 2nd Stage Trigger for bomb release For some reason this is not happening for me. Weapons wont drop. I am missing something, and I even remember what I am suppoused to be looking for.
  9. So G-Limiter no longer works on cold starts on ground. AC is always limiteed to 6G?
  10. Hypothetically. Lets say a dev holds rights to DCS: Jaguar and DCS: F-111C/F (but not SAC B), and has resources for one , but not both, and unwilling to let either of rights go. What is more preferrable for DCS strike fixed wing community? DCS: SEPACAT Jaguar or DCS: F-111C/F? I am with team Jag. Probably British and French DCS playas would go with that. Americans and Australians, reliving golden years of Cold War, would likely opt for F-111.
  11. This table does not work for me at all, when it comes to freefall and ret bombs. Guns , gunpod, and rocket SNEB table depressions are good.
  12. The depression angle, we set in cokpit, is what we have for sight. We dont CCIP or CCRP, or radar bombing. Depression settings have to be predictable for aircraft attitude and altitude , with respect to target, to be usefull. I found that depression settings for freefall and balute bombs to be nonsense! They don't work. Bombs fall so far off target, either short or long, as to be useless. Well,at least to me. For freefall bombs, sight depression of 150 should be used for following aircraft attitude. 4000 feet above target 420 knots speed 15 degree dive 150 mil depression, 20 deg. dive ; 100 mil depression. Mill iis a milliradian. There are 6400 miliradians in a circle. So its a really fine unit of measurement. 1.8 km or about 1 nm slant distance from target. When those conditions are met at release, bombs should impact near the target within 100 meters. Well within blast radius. I get nothing even remotely close.
  13. I have it set to FF with manually entered freq. Usually for ATC. For some reason, on every mission, at random time, it simply stops working. No transmissios! The radio frequency flashes , but there is no transmission, and no reply. Not from ATC, not from wingmen.
  14. It feels, to me, that if internal fuel is not set to 100%, that external center tank, is invisible.I check the fuel gauge at start up. I am just returning to M2KC after a year away, so I may be imagining things. Pic below shows M2KC in South Atlantic in Punto Arenas. Int fuel is 95% with external center tank. Note that 990kg external fuel is not reported.
  15. I got two issues. Centerline ext. tank , not feeding or registered. I thought it was automatic. Note that knee pad shows no internal fuel, while there is a external centerline tank. IFF on preventing VHF radio (FF manual) mode from transmitting.
  16. I forgot everything. Relearning, remembering. I see there is now Mode 2 IFF implemented. Is that only for network play?
  17. What conflict? Will there be mod terrain for ED-Razbam conflict? Who won or is winning?
  18. The general rule for sight depression table. The shallower the dive angle or near level delivery, the high the depression angle. Ret. bombs need even more depression. Release speed shpould 400, 420 , or 450. Very seldom should bombs be released above that velocity. In dive you need airbrakes out. I started with 50, which works great for guns, gunpods, and SNEBs with 420 knots , 1-5 deg dive, and 1/2 nm or less slant distance to tgt. Even then in F1, its like firing a shotgun from hip, at 50 or 100 meter target on gunrange. The spread is so large in F1. Probably by design. Mirage F1 AG is an area attack weapon. Aeriial MLRS. One pass, covers a 1/2 km grid square.
  19. Jaguar would work in Germany theater, Kola theater, all African theaters, MidEast, Gulf,South Atlantic. It works everywhere.
  20. I suspect that many of DCS users, like real life Jag pilots , would find it underpowered. When Jag gets below power curve, it becomes dangerous and difficult.
  21. Well... I want to say B.S., but I won't. I am sort of thinking they are nonsensical. They dont work. Dept. tables for guns and rockets work fine. But for bombs. Not really, not for me. Low level delivery of retarded bombs. 420 knots, 5-10 deg dive, 150 dpr., or max 200 depr, 700 AGL release. Even with pipper well ahead of target, the bombs impact well short. It makes no sense. I am almost overflying the target, and release when tgt is below bottom of HUD and cant be seem, and weapons stil fall well short. The tracks are too large to upload.
  22. Well I think its all declassified now, so modules can be high fidelity from soup to nuts. Except IFF. IFF modes 3 and 4 are still classified, so can't really be simulated. But they can be adequately emulated in DCS, just by having one side set IFF code as specified by mission master. If playa' not set code playa gets ded! Same thing for secure encrypted comms. Just have user go through motions of setting dials and rotaries properly. There is no need for actual simulation of encryption avionics. If settings are incorrect , the player cant communicate. As Khan noonien Singh would say "Let them eat static".
  23. Its not on their site. So maybe they shelved it.
  24. What is this DCS userbase fixation with 1960's and 1970's Mid-Cold War European+American Vietnam era fast movers? Its like we are reliving Discovery Chanell, BBC, French, and German TV documentaries from 1980's - 1990's. Heck I watch re-re-re-watch them. Here is USA, we look back on Vietnam War as some mythical magical time. Even the Russians look back on 1960's-1970's as height of Soviet Russian power and technology. British are particularly fond of RAF and RNFAA operations in 1960's and 1970's when RN had angled deck CATOBAT carriers. Who does not love hearing pleasant calming voice of British cockney accented RNFAA LSO talking down a Buccaneer or F-4K down to the #3 wire. "Lovely, LOvely, tad right, smidge of power, lovely, HOLD IT RIGHT THERE , HOLD IT THERE... GOT YA' LOvely ly , just lovely".
  25. I would be great. It woud nice to see something more exotic and unusual in DCS. ED has self imposed limitation onnprohibition of experimental or non-production aircraft. Only aircraft for which there is open source information. So we won't have U-2. No Chinese PLAAF J-10, which is Chinese F-16. Highly unlikely to see realistic MIG-25, becouse its FM would be so similar to MIG-31. Sort off. We are unlikely to get some interesting 'forgotten' types. DeHaviland Sea Vixen, Buccanner, F-111. Highly unlilely to get any V_bombers becouse its large size multi-crew. I happen to agree that large multi-crew is not appropriate for DCS, but online DCS community would likely disagree with me. On other hand, there are types which I thought would a no-brainer for DCS. F-8 Crusader, A-7D/E (vaporware), and legendary Hawker Hunter. Yet they do not exist for DCS.
