Spontaneous loss of options controls after system restart
DmitriKozlowsky replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in General Bugs
So now I have to go through every module and reload Input options manually. -
What are TAA and DLAA? I Keep DLSS OFF, as I natively run 2560X1440 I have RTX 3060Ti FE.

Really excessive noise in pedals with TM Pedals
DmitriKozlowsky replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in Thrustmaster
yes So U believe the pedals are failing. The potentiometers are faulty or worn out? -
Really excessive noise in pedals with TM Pedals
DmitriKozlowsky replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in Thrustmaster
run joy.cpl from command prompt. Select T-Rudder properties Move pedals rudder axis. ?Is the input stable and accurate? In DCS/Options/AH-64D Pilot/Axis/Rudder When going from max deflection L to max R and vice versa are the inout stable or does it vibrate as it moves? Mine vibrates a lot. The software is not filtering and smoothing input. What this causes is tail that wiggles. creating unstable directional control. -
Really excessive noise in pedals with TM Pedals
DmitriKozlowsky replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in Thrustmaster
Not really helping. But how old are your pedals. -
Really excessive noise in pedals with TM Pedals Latest 2.9 bera Track attached. Turn on controls indcator overlay or watch the legs of pilot. Tiny smooth pedals cause excessive diversions in amount and direction of pedal motion. Maybe hardware malfunction, maybe software filtering. AH-64D_2_9_pedals_excessive noise.trk

How to get AI Gunner to fire salvo of AGM-114L at a ship? AI only fires one a t a time. With L being Fire&Forget, cycling back to target still offers low rate of fire. Without cycling, AI waits for current missile to hit or miss before fring another one. To disable or sink a Molnya corvette, one needs to place minimum of 4 to 8 Helfires into it.

Not privy to classified info. But I bet in RL. FCR equipped 64D ir E Apache will recognize, prioritize, and distribute up to 4 targets to non-FCR equipped Apaches or Hellfire carrying drones. AH-64 and Hellfire were designed to balance out NATO low tank anti-tank armor , to high count Soviet-Warsaw Pact tank armies in Europe. As Soviet armor outnumbered NATO armor 10 to 1

Macross MIssile Massacre with Hellfires is an awesome effect. In fact it was attempted in real life in MidEast project of mounting multiple ground launched Hellfire boxes on long bed semi-tractor flatbed trailer. Marines and Swedish Defense are working on a swarm Hellfire launcher for small ships and shore installations. I fel in love with Robotech becouse if Macross Missile Massacre.

For Petro work with AT 6/9 After start up; Turn on weapons in upfront panel and have AI Petro turn on his systems. Set range to AUTO Set Weapon to OFF/MISSILE There are two small dark switches above weapons for syncing. Set both in up position Enable FIRE AT WILL for Petro. Point toward target area. Have Petro search for targets Set AI Petro to select ATTACKA MISSILE as weapon Select a target from Petro list and tell AI Petro to engage. After Petro reports weapon ready and target in range align Petro cross hair inside pilot crosshair and after missile ready tone sounds for one second without break Petro reports FIRING fires the missile. Keep the target inside HUD until hit or miss. The lower the AGL at time of release the lower the probability of hit. Petro will report missile hit or miss. When using rockets , or guns, have Petro search for targets, but fire weapons yourself. All rockets , guns, and pods in Hind are LOS forward firing weapons , so those are your responsibility. IMHO. Petro is used to search for targets and fire AT-6/9 missiles. I do enable AI countermeasures , but still fire flares/chaff manually when either Petro or Nadia reports a threat. I admit , missile evasion is poor. The Hind is huge and lumbering. Excessive roll or pitch , results in loss of control. Even empty Hind is heavy for available power and in my hands prone to VRS or settling with power. Pilot Visibility is poor , relative to Apache or Gazelle, so vertical landing in confined areas is difficult for me. Deck landings are somewhat normal as long as ship has 20 knot speed, and there is sufficient space. Hind appears to have similar clearance requirements as SeaStallion and Osprey. So land only on large moving ships. Hovering is a challenge due to GW and power limitations. Hind acts more like a compound helicopter-fixed wing VSTOL then pure helicopter. When empty with low fuel it will hover with high power settings. When loaded with weapons and fuel above 35% , bringing it to a stable hover is a danger frought challenge. Have gear down if hovering IGE. Most takeoffs and landings I do are rolling with about 30 kph forward speed. I land with elongated spiral landing pattern to shed speed and begin at least 1.5 km from landing spot. To me Hind is more of a rotary wing compound Very Short Takeoff and Landing aircraft , rather then a true helicopter. Watching various historical docs and recent event videos it appears that's how Hind crews fly it. Russians and their clients love it, but I am aghast that they would deploy a combat battlefield helicopter of that size. It's huge.It needs stand off range missiles. Combat hull losses Hinds took in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Georgia , MidEast, and Ukraine are huge. Being a Hind combat crew is a high risk job. MANPADS and IR SHORAD chew it up. In DCS, I think it needs more power. Even empty with no fuel , it's GW is near 90%.

Solved. FOund the magic sauce recipe. Petro hits tatgey with AT-6/9 about 70% of the time, and thays about good enough and expected from Russian-Soviet systems. The engagement range is kind of short. Similar to US PKWS laser guided rockets, maybe a bit shorter. How does one survive even short range NATO SAMs?
-
Well I do hear the tone. I point the cross-hair on target. Everything AI is 'red' so ROE is free fire. Petro says targeyt aquired-target in range- tone is playing,. BUT Petro does not fire, and eventually, I imagine I fly inside the AT-6/9 range and Petro cqan't fire. So I don't know what I am missing.

Here is track. But be forewarned. TRACKS ARE USELESS! Unless you have exact same version as mine 2.8.8.43704 with exact same mods and exact same rez settings, TRACKs do not play back correctly. In short they lie! Petrovich_not _fire.trk No, no onbstruction mwssages, and no R-60 are loaded. Just AT-9 on outer pylons.

SA-342 Gazelle 2023 "FM" Update
DmitriKozlowsky replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Well after 2 1/2 months with new FM, I am comfortable with it and more or less it is under control. But! I am sorry. It sucks! It just does not feel real at all. It flies bad, it feels bad. it feels wrong. I am judging it against UH-1H, Ah-64D, and KA-50III. I get it s a small light helicopter, but its not that light. Right now , it feels like dragonfly in the windstorm. First wrong is roll axis. The helicopter is not behaving as it is hanging from rotor center CG, but as as if it is balanced on stick on bottom of fuselage. This behavior is most present and most dangeroous during ETL transition from 12 to 20 KIAS with nose into wind. Second wrong is excessive authority of tail rotor. It is sharp and unrealistic. Fenestron suppoused to have low authority at low deflections , increasing on a steep curve with larger pedal deflection. But not as sharp as it is currently implemented. basically a tiny pressure like change in rudder causes sharp abrupt yaw that appears to violate physics as tail feels like it has no inertial momentum. Its too much. It feels wrong. How deflection is read and filtered is likewise faulty, though that may be my Thrusmaster pedals. But when at 1/3 to 1/2 deflection in either direction, there is excessive 'noise' in how amount of pedals is read. The bar in control overlay dances randomly. That input make tail of Gazelle dance a bit. Makes aiming weapons difficult. In real world , the fenestron is disliked by American helicopter pilots , who consider it a safety issue. Note that UH-72 Lakota, a variant of EC-142 , foregoes fenestron. Bell Invictus armed recon helicopter, likewise, foregoes fenestron for traditional tailrotor. Third wrong is skid friction, when helicopter is light on skids. The friction between skids and ground, makes helicopter feels like its on a sling shot when it initially picks up. A particularly hazardous condition is if you land with one skid on tarmac and another skid on grass or ground. The differential friction, if there is one, makes dynamic rollover much more likely. I am sorry. But I hope its improved. Right now Gazelle FM feels bad. Attached is a SouthAtlantic Mission. I use it for helicopter flight training. Wind and turbulence is moderate to low. Cheers SouthAtlantic.miz -
Alright. Sounds good. Thank you for schooling.

I guess I need to understand something basic for DCS: Apache. How are we even able to use Lima radar version without FCR? How is George targeting? Becouse in sim, he reports LASING/LASER OFF for Lima. But Lima is radar guided fire and forget. It works in DCS, as far as AGM-114L is hitting targets. Though it is not very effective against small surface combatants, but still it hits. Decent for short range SEAD. For me, pilot seat, FCR page is blank. So George has access to FCR, when mounted, behind the scenes? Modern tactics call for 1 FCR equipped Aache to feed targets to 2-3 non FCR equipped Apaches. A linebacker Apache. I suppouse this is all WIP at ED. Apache E Guardian is new and all sorts of classified, able to control drones and loitering munitions. So I don't expect DCS to have GuardianE for next 20 years. Wiki page for Hellfire lists all sorts of variants and subvariants. Most interesting are N variant for anti-surface and anti-pers with thermobaric warhead. Sidenote. Apache should not have DCS standard low light NVG. Yet we do. Apache has PNVS for its night vision.

Right hand rudder pedal filter not working right
DmitriKozlowsky posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
With my Thrustmaster pedals , in Gazelle, with right pedal deflection from 1/3 to 1/2 there is excesive random noise. Imagine right pedal with half deflection. Look at on screen overlay of pedal (CTRL -ENTR) and I see excessive noise dance in actual value, even though my foot pressure is constant. This causes slight yaw dance of Gazelle is FM tries to honor then input. Even worse this noise occurs in that transition zone with low pedal authority to high pedal authority that is normal for fenestron tail rotors. I don't get that problem in KA-50, UH-1H, annd AH-64D. The pedal input is smoothly filtered. I think that there needs to an input filter in Gazelle for rudder. -
Yeah it looks like its rendering at 12 FPS. It sucks and thats the way it is. THere are other issues I keep discovering with FM. How dynamic rollover and friction of skids on terrain.
