  1. Well I think its all declassified now, so modules can be high fidelity from soup to nuts. Except IFF. IFF modes 3 and 4 are still classified, so can't really be simulated. But they can be adequately emulated in DCS, just by having one side set IFF code as specified by mission master. If playa' not set code playa gets ded! Same thing for secure encrypted comms. Just have user go through motions of setting dials and rotaries properly. There is no need for actual simulation of encryption avionics. If settings are incorrect , the player cant communicate. As Khan noonien Singh would say "Let them eat static".
  2. Its not on their site. So maybe they shelved it.
  3. What is this DCS userbase fixation with 1960's and 1970's Mid-Cold War European+American Vietnam era fast movers? Its like we are reliving Discovery Chanell, BBC, French, and German TV documentaries from 1980's - 1990's. Heck I watch re-re-re-watch them. Here is USA, we look back on Vietnam War as some mythical magical time. Even the Russians look back on 1960's-1970's as height of Soviet Russian power and technology. British are particularly fond of RAF and RNFAA operations in 1960's and 1970's when RN had angled deck CATOBAT carriers. Who does not love hearing pleasant calming voice of British cockney accented RNFAA LSO talking down a Buccaneer or F-4K down to the #3 wire. "Lovely, LOvely, tad right, smidge of power, lovely, HOLD IT RIGHT THERE , HOLD IT THERE... GOT YA' LOvely ly , just lovely".
  4. I would be great. It woud nice to see something more exotic and unusual in DCS. ED has self imposed limitation onnprohibition of experimental or non-production aircraft. Only aircraft for which there is open source information. So we won't have U-2. No Chinese PLAAF J-10, which is Chinese F-16. Highly unlikely to see realistic MIG-25, becouse its FM would be so similar to MIG-31. Sort off. We are unlikely to get some interesting 'forgotten' types. DeHaviland Sea Vixen, Buccanner, F-111. Highly unlilely to get any V_bombers becouse its large size multi-crew. I happen to agree that large multi-crew is not appropriate for DCS, but online DCS community would likely disagree with me. On other hand, there are types which I thought would a no-brainer for DCS. F-8 Crusader, A-7D/E (vaporware), and legendary Hawker Hunter. Yet they do not exist for DCS.
  5. There is FROY and Scurrent Serbian AF J-22 Orao. Japanese F-1. Those two seem like close 'PC clone' clones of Jaguar. Same mission , strike, operation from rough fields, same mission profile (low level), thus simllar design. Design convergence.
  6. Seems like some dev , SnakeEye Studios, is or was working on DCS: Jaguar. Thats all I found so far.
  7. Mirage 2000C Mirage F1 and variants in single mod Viggen AG variant F-4E which was also used by Euros Used to have BAE HAwk Harrier II On the way are Tornado , Typhoon, and others which I know nothig about. I'd say its a pretty good plethora.
  8. Try F1EE There is no release feedback that I detect. Once bomb release is oressed, there is no RELEASE tone, no thonk as clamps release, no up-bump as aircraft is lightened, no light flash. I figure I have to repeat the process untill I feel the subtleties. \ What is suppoused to happen? DO the weapons release instanteneously upon press, or is it a long 1 second press. 2 seconds?
  9. Still does not resolve my original problem. Weapon release! When hold down bomb release, the bombs dont release at press time. Instead they release at some point after depress, or unpress. I cant tell whats actually happening. Replay does not tell me whats going on, as I cant rewind.
  10. Is asking for SEPECAT Jaguar a good idea ? Or not. We already have a plethora of European AG strike platforms from 1960's and 1970's. So would SEPECAT Jaguar be a worthwhile commercial mod. As I see people liking 1970's and 1980's legacy analog strike aircraft. I can see it, maybe, as 3rd party, from a dev who likes British and French jets. jJaguar had a reputation for underpowered difficult jet to fly. But its weapon delivery system and navigation were really advanced for 1970's and 1980's. it saw combat with Indians, with British and French in MidEast and Africa.
  11. 2 nm slant distance for 50 deg depr with 10-15 deg dive at 420. I don't like these old school analog weapon delivery computers. They lock you into particular and predictable attack profile. But thats what was availabe nack in 1950's and 1960's when these systems were developed.
  12. Depr of 50 for guns seems to work well with 10-15 deg dive at 420 knots. Thank you for reply.
  13. I am struggling a bit with manual bomb delivery. Specifically the release time logic. OK I set the sight depression as needed (around 55), have my dive angle between 10 and 12, my speed at 420 KIAS. Set fuse to INST. Relase safetyies and trigger guards. All good. Around 1800 feet slant dist, I press weapon release. But bombs do not actually . Instead they separate some few seconds later. But I cannot tell of weapons separate at press or after, or the press has to be longer then 1 second. Right nnow I am working with 500lb MK82 and French SMP250 LD. As their depr. angles are same as for F4 rockets pods. Rockets release fine and hit where they should. Same for guns. I miss CCIP/CCRP
  14. In PUQ, ATC always (at least thus far) tells to to T/O and land on 25. I randomize weather with almost every mission. I think ILS 109.90 in PUQ 25 RWY does work. I got needles in Mirage F1EE. PUQ is combines use civil-mil. So there should be TACAN. However we can portable TACAN as ground unit.
  15. 25 RWY is the primary RWY in PUQ. I tried 109.90 ILS, but failed to get a tone 2X. I'll try again.
  16. Odd. I dont have it. When I click on PUQ in mission the list shows only VOR. No TACAN , no ILS.
  17. Punto Arenas PUQ runways are pretty long and field can handle large aircraft. Chile is kind of blue ally. Mostly.
  18. Punto Arenas (Eng. Sandy Point) does have ILS in real life for 25 rwy. DCS South Atlantic does not. PUQ (IATA) is kind of notorious for bad weather, especcially winds and tubulence, and all sorts of maritime climate. It has not have an ILS.
  19. According to all knowing all wise Wikipedia F1CT was an advanced close air suppourt upgrade to French AF F1C's. So that fairing contains a laser spotter and low power laser designator. Since its nonfunctonal, in DCS, I hope that it is invisible to flight model and thus does not cause drag and fuel penalty.
  20. I see, the fairing appear with CT liveries. So does that mean that livery has a displacement map for the fairing. Or do liveries also carry additional polygon geometry with them. I thought hat liveries were textures only. I guess I have some more to learn.
  21. Ignitewrs are too quiet. Need to hear the distinctive CLICK CLACK CLICK of igniters sparking the ignition chamber. Otherwise, I have now got cold start +INU process handled. Though I am not tottally solid yet.
  22. In no order. 1. Malacca Strait. Strategic maritime trade choke point. 2. Sri Lanka. PRC-India powerplay. 3. Aleutian Islands chain and Bering Sea. Gateway to Arctic 4. Peru-Equador Cenepa re-run. Issue was not solved in 1995-1996 5. Angola-Namibia-Zimbabwe(Rhodesia), Horn Of Africa 6. Iceland . Strategic location in GIUK Gap for NATO and RuF in North Atlantic. 7. Venezuela-Guyana territorial dispute. OIL! 8. PNG PRC-Australia-OIL! 9. Phillipines-PRC. Please refer to novel Sky Masters (1991).

  23. Option to have F10 and Kneeboard position tick view show position of own aircraft , to the pilot and aircrew, according to aircraft's nav system. I admit, I use F10 and kneeboard as a navigation crutch. IMHO, manual naviagaton is one of the more difficult tasks in aviation. More still difficult in military aviation. More still difficult with IMC and NAV system errors. Right now, there is no real need to spinup and align INU for navigation. Just take off, and use kneeboard ticks and F10 view. They are a crutch. Take away that crutch and thongs get dicey. One way to reduce length of crutch is to have own aircraft position being in sync where aircraft's nav system , in pit, shows the pilot where it thinks the aircraft is. So if it is off, the position on F10 map should be off also. Turning off F10 option is an option but F10 is usefull for other things also. The kneevboard tickmark shpudl also be in sync with aircraft nav system. Right now F10 and Kneeboard function a perfect built in nav display unit for any aircraft. Regardless of generation.
  24. That belongs on F1CR, a recce variant. That would be used with centerline pod housing side looking radar. We may be looking at variant botchup of CR geometry used for F1EE. But I don't know. Web photos of F1EE do not show it.
  25. Small item. The above pic shows my favorite AG loadout, as we don't have AG missiles. Two F1 36 rocket pods with Large Warhead HE, one 18 rocket F4 pod with Lg Warhead HE, BORAX ECM pod, 2 X R5502, centerline tank, and 70% int fuel. Attack profile 1800 to 3000 feet above target, 15 deg dive, 420 KIAS, 50 sight depression. Relatively accurate with large dispersion of salvo.
