Heatblur plans for pilot's attitude/mindset towards RIOs?
Steve Gee replied to D4n's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
There's your main problem right there. Claims to know what he's doing. Funny that someone with the same exact name as your forum name jumped into my backseat right after the Tomcat came out when TTI didn't have the Ask turned on evidently and messed my entire startup up. Now, not saying it was you or anything. lot of copycats these days. ;) Oh, and you didn't even have SRS running either. -
It's been stated here recently by the Powers That Be that the Kuznetsov wouldn't be finished until after the new US carrier, a frigate I believe and THEN the Kuznetsov. Of course, subject to change when they get another whim to work on something else.

F14 Skinners thread (Paintkit in 1st post)
Steve Gee replied to David A Sell's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
With there being only 5-6 squadrons I believe that actually flew the B, I imagine you'll see A and D schemes to come for a while. All the B squadrons might already be represented in HB's Tomcat. -
Was discussing this the other day with someone, and they mentioned that some airports on the PG map have TACAN equipment and I've seen them listed on the TACAN charts in the kneeboard for some servers.

F14 Skinners thread (Paintkit in 1st post)

It would, as your paint program...Photoshop, PSP, Whatever....has to account/track those layers and having 100's of layers, even ones with tiny marks, slows things down when painting, especially zoomed in. -
It's also been said that the new Kuznetsov won't be seen until MAC, as well. Which we haven't heard much about at all since the magazine interview a couple of months ago.
-
The Navy has them for training on land, why shouldn't we? I'm going to run out of planes from carrier crashes before I get it down. Having that capability on land could have saved the DCS taxpayers millions. :)
-
I seen that, but creates an IC conflict online.
-
Were you able to save them as BC7 .dds files as well?

Are the F/A-18 pilots equipped for over water flights?
-
As I was floating down towards the lovely waters of the Persian Gulf after eating a friendly AIM-54C in my spanking new Tomcat..thank you Unnamed Pilot. Jester was killed by the missile BTW, I'm sure a Board of Inquiry will be held :)...I wondered what would happen when I hit the water, since I didn't have any sort of personal floatation device on and, lo and behold, I sunk right to the bottom. Are there any pilots that float once they eject? Sure would be nice to have a pilot floating in his vest in the water, maybe even a good rescue mission for some brave and heroic chopper pilot to pull off? Hard to do as I'm sinking to the depths of the Gulf, though. :)

With the F/A-18 being the in-house jewel of DCS and an updated interactive/whatever carrier in the works, not to mention the release of HB's F-14B, wouldn't it be a good idea to have US Navy ranks available in the logbook with all the shiniest toys in that branch of the virtual service?
-
With the big moves over the past year into naval operations, F/A-18 and F-14, is it possible that we can select the naval rank equal to the air force ones listed currently? You can select a naval squadron as your unit, but it only shows air force/army rank names instead.

Anyone found a standalone converter yet for Intel-based .dds files to a useable format (bmp/whatever) and back again? -
Fly the on-shore landing practice mission, then touch and go it a few times, going all the way back to the start/approach to the field. It will get you started on the path to understanding the F-14's AoA and how it works. If you forget what he told you during the touch and goes, restart the mission. Practice makes perfect I always heard.

Nothing yet, but it's been said on here that the new Kuznetsov would be in MAC and in some comments about the detailed Nimitz module, it was stated that the Kuznetsov wouldn't be worked on any more until AFTER that was finished and a Arleigh Burke model as well, so who knows any more?
-
Not unless it beats the already in development Jug out, which I highly doubt.
-
My guess, and that's all it is, is that since the MiG was the last of the FC3 aircraft to be made into a standalone module, it benefits from all the things ED's from the Hornet and others.
-
My guess is we won't see anything like that for that series until MAC, if even then.

Bug Report - Repaired Tire(s) Still Shown as Damaged
Steve Gee posted a topic in F-15C for DCS World
Something minor, and not even sure if the team will even look at it, but if you blow a tire in the F-15 on landing, after repair it still looks blown, although it performs just fine. Will post a screen as soon as I find a non-irritating image hosting place. -
The 64 dollar question, right here. Maybe we'll here more as MAC's debut, whenever that may be, draws closer.
-
While I'll end up getting MAC, if nothing else to support the franchise, I do hope that the improvements we've seen over the past year, such as that lovely version of the Kuznetsov, make their way into the FC3/DCS World as well.
-
Haven't really seen any. I think there's enough going on right now (F-14, MiG-19) that they've got more important things on the burners for a bit. We'll find out some time this year, I'm sure. :)

DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS
Steve Gee replied to a topic in DCS Modding
Just getting into the Saitek/Logitech panels, I didn't look through all 103 pages, but I found a Logitech tool to make sure the panels are at least connected and respond to switch movements, if anyone's interested and maybe doesn't have it: Logitech Panel Tester It's the Logitech Support site. Scroll down a bit, it's called "Flight Panels Test Software".
