Get mud means get locked up and/or fired at by a SAM. TL;DR Pullback mode allows you to quickly select the HARM automatically if a SAM is on you. If you enable HARM Override, it will completely select the HARM and assuming A/G interlocks are met you can press the pickle button and off it goes; everything else is done automatically. Basically "oh shit" mode.

[REPORTED]Weapon formats not available on [TAC] menu
Jak525 replied to Jak525's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm an idiot and forgot to upload the.trk. Will get to it later today, sorry! -
Weapon formats such as MAV DSPLY, IMAV DSPLY, JDAM DSPLY, JSOW DSPLY, etc. have an issue where their text is not displayed on the [TAC] Menu but the corresponding pushbutton can still be pressed to invoke them. Once they're invoked, or if the regular STORES format is displayed on that display, then the text for the weapon format will be displayed on that display only. Technically this is a graphical bug, and not a functional one. I demonstrate this with the AGM-65F in the .trk and will use it when describing the behavior, but this applies exactly the same to all weapons with their own formats except the HARM. The HARM has special logic from the others where the HARM Format is available on the [TAC] menu at all times, and that works correctly right now. Current behavior: - When MAVF is selected in the SMS, PB10 can be selected to invoke the IMAV Format on any display. - Once the IMAV Format has been displayed on a given display at least once, OR if the regular STORES Format has been displayed on a given display at least once, the text "IMAV DSPLY" is placed by PB10. Correct/intended behavior: - When MAVF is selected in the SMS, PB10 can be selected to invoke the IMAV Format on any display. - Whenever MAVF is selected in the SMS, the text "IMAV DSPLY" is displayed by PB10. This should happen regardless of whether or not the STORES or IMAV DSPLY has previously been on this display. Thank you! Weapon format TAC menu bug.miz.trk

He's talking about the A/G Target designation diamond, which may happen to be designated from a waypoint. This is coming (two weeksTM) - it's been said before.
-
It will also swap the HSI/SA on the L or RDDI.
-
There are quite a few inconsistencies between the HSI and SA formats in terms of the looks of the symbology which should be common between the two. - Waypoints / markpoints are entirely different. On the SA, it's a large circle with a number. On the HSI, it's a small circle. - The A/G Target designation is slightly different. On the SA, it's a relatively large diamond with a dot in the center. On the HSI, it is a small diamond symbol. - The waypoint (upper right, shown in track) and TACAN (not shown in track) data text in the top corners is positioned differently. On the SA, it's higher and actually clips the TDC priority diamond. - The aircraft position symbol in the center is higher on the SA vs. the HSI. - The aircraft ground track indicator diamond is a tad closer to the compass rose on the SA vs. the HSI. When the master arm is set to SAFE, the AGM-65F cannot be uncaged or re-caged using the Cage/Uncage button. However, it can still be uncaged by holding and slewing the TDC and can acquire a target. The difference is you cannot uncage it with Cage/Uncage or return it to boresight (cage it) after slewing unless the master arm is ARM. Clearly there is one of two things wrong: 1. the Maverick should not be uncageable in any way when the master arm is SAFE, or 2. which I would bet on, you should be able to use Cage/Uncage with the master arm set to SAFE. Track attached. Thanks! AGM 65F cage uncage master arm safe.miz.trk

When the left DDI is off, OR it is displaying weapon video, the advisories should not be displayed on the LDDI and be moved to the MPCD. If the MPCD is off, then it goes to the RDDI. Currently, it is correctly implemented when you actually shut the LDDI off. However, if you display weapon video on the LDDI, the ADV- line is correctly removed on the LDDI but it is not moved to the MPCD as it should. Instead, the ADV- line is nowhere to be found when weapon video is on the LDDI. In summary: - CURRENT behavior: weapon video shows on LDDI. ADV- line disappears from LDDI. - CORRECT behavior: weapon video shows on LDDI. ADV- line disappears from LDDI. ADV- line appears on MPCD while weapon video is displayed on LDDI. (or RDDI, if the MPCD is off.) Weapon video ADV bug.miz.trk

For dumb/laser bombs, a STBY/RDY/etc status is never indicated on the aircraft wingform. For the Maverick (E and F), the STBY/RDY status on the wingform is erroneously removed when in A/G master mode, but is visible in NAV. AG RDY status on wingform bug.miz.trk

Sorry for the late reply here. 1. NAV master mode is supposed to inhibit A/G symbology on the HUD. This works for all other weapons with similar indications to the Gun like dumb or laser bombs -- "CCIP" (or AUTO in their cases) is removed in NAV. 2. Again, this RDY indication is just like for all other munitions displayed at the top of the format. It should not show RDY when the Gun is, well, not ready (not met A/G Ready firing interlock conditions). 3/4. For the rockets, it's stated in ED's manual: STORES Format: If the A/G weapon is in a release condition, “RDY” is displayed below the weapon box. Otherwise, an “X” is displayed through the weapon box. HUD: I can't find an exact quote but every other weapon works this way. I'm sure you could ask an SME but there's no reason rockets would for some reason not indicate it by Xing it out when every other weapon does.

[REPORTED]Dumb bomb and LGB A/G RDY indication issue
Jak525 replied to Jak525's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey Bignewy, sorry for the late reply. It's stated in the DCS manual itself: If the A/G weapon is in a release condition, “RDY” is displayed below the weapon box. Otherwise, an “X” is displayed through the weapon box. -
I reported the wind correction a long while ago and it was acknowledged. Who knows when it'll actually get fixed.
-
This is correct behavior as far as I know - it makes logical sense. The only thing that is missing is that firing an AMRAAM in RWS should switch to TWS. However you can go back to RWS and it'll still guide fine.
-
What Avro said. In terms of the way it guides you, FD is basically CCRP in the A-10C (with additional functions). Though it's compared to it, truly the Hornet's AUTO mode is its own thing, and Hornet CCIP=A-10 CCIP and Hornet FD=A-10 CCRP.
-
I'd imagine he's referring to the fact the range has been determined by laser (which is something that's not properly implemented yet). Correct, the laser will get slant range and use that to find where the Target is in 3D space (paired with left/right and up/down azimuth and altitude). That doesn't mean the avionics can't convert it to range over the ground for display to the pilot. But I guess we'll see what ED says based on their documentation. In some cases you're right, but particularly in terms of avionics systems in the Hornet I wouldn't say DCS is the best a lot of times. (Again, for the Hornet.)

When using any laser guided or dumb bombs, A/G Ready TRUE is correctly indicated by "RDY" on the STORES format and an uncrossed HUD indication. On the HUD, A/G Ready FALSE is also correctly indicated by a crossed out indication. However, on the STORES it is only partially correct. It is correct in that the 'RDY' indication is removed, however what's missing is for the STORES weapon indication at the top row to be X'd out like it is on the HUD. DUMB BOMB AG RDY bug.miz.trk

"CCIP" (or whatever mode the Gun or Rockets are in) is indicated on the HUD in NAV master mode. All other symbology correctly disappears except when in A/G master mode. When A/G Ready is false for the gun, "RDY" is still displayed to the left of the GUN indication on the STORES format. (e.g. in NAV not A/G mode, master arm SAFE, etc.) When A/G Ready is false for the rockets, the indication is never crossed out as it should be, on either the HUD or the STORES format. When A/G Ready is TRUE for the rockets, there is never a 'RDY' indication underneath it on the STORES format. Two tracks attached GUN SYMBOLOGY bug.miz.trk ROCKET SYMBOLOGY bug.miz.trk

When you lock a target with the AGM-65E (laser fired and locked onto), and master arm is SAFE, the A/G RDY is false. This is correctly indicated on the STORES format by it being X'd out. However, on the HUD, "MAV LKD" is not crossed out. Though MAV LKD is correct (since it is locked onto a laser), it should be crossed out on the HUD when A/G Ready is false (e.g., master arm SAFE). Track attached. Note: "MAV" is correctly X'd out on the HUD in other A/G Ready false scenarios, like when the missile is not locked onto a laser. LASER MAV AG RDY bug.miz.trk
-
When you have a contrasting target locked using the AGM-65F Maverick, but the master arm is SAFE, A/G Ready is false. This is correctly indicated by the crossed-out indication on the STORES. However, the "MAVF" indication on the HUD remains uncrossed out. Note that the MAVF is correctly crossed out on the HUD when A/G Ready is false in other scenarios. MAV AG RDY bug.miz.trk

Current behavior (A/G): DATA Freeze displays all parameters as live parameters at all times. Current behavior (A/A): DATA Freeze displays all parameters as live parameters whenever in Single Target Track. Correct behavior (A/G): The DATA (Data Freeze) button on the A/G STORES format should show the data it does now, but that data should be 'frozen' when an A/G weapon is released (and then only updated when another one is released. In other words it shows data from the last released weapon). So, it should show all parameters as they were at the very moment the last A/G store was released. Correct behavior (A/A): The DATA (Data Freeze) button on the A/A STORES format should show the data it does now, but that data should be 'frozen' when an A/A weapon is fired, for the target (if it exists) and your own plane. In other words, it should show the data as it was at the moment the trigger was last pulled and a missile or bullet was released. Track attached (for A/G). Thanks! DATA FREEZE.miz.trk

I've played another F/A-18 sim that I can't mention specifically due to the rules here, but it's generally pretty accurate. It says only TACAN shows slant range - otherwise it's the horizontal distance, including to an A/G Target designation. Of course, if you have real-life info that says otherwise then I'm sure you're right.
-
It no longer X's out when the timer is still going but the problem now it never X's out when master arm is SAFE. Bug not completely fixed.

[REPORTED]Weapon Select Switch not setting range correctly
Jak525 replied to imacken's topic in Bugs and Problems
Are you in TWS or RWS? SET is only an RWS function.
