How do you stay so tightly in sync? Is it all just a whole lot of practice or am I missing something? I'd love to be able to fly like you guys ;)
-
indeed very very cool great synchronization

As I said earlier: Happy to oblige =) I actually bought a pair of copies and sent around, but that's when it still had the insanely high cost of 15 SEK (2 USD) I would think that it's because it just didn't sell very well and they are finishing off their last copies. It's been at 15 SEK for almost half a year now and they lowered it a couple of weeks ago to that extreme low price of 4 SEK. I'm guessing they're soon out of copies
-
one hundred percent correct price! =D btw, I might think you'd be more interested in the 0.7 Australian dollars?
-
Yeah definitely! In Sweden LOMAC is available from well known site Ginza.se for as low as 4 SEK (equates to about 0.5 USD or 17 RUB or 0.7 AUD or 0.6 CAD). Been trying to convince everyone I meet to buy it, and several copies of it as well, to send to their friends =)

Finally got around to test it out but I must say, I actually didn't like it that much. Maybe got caught up in the hype? ;) Definitely nice work though! A tad too dark for my taste that's all. And I think I liked the fonts better in the original pit.

Keyboard flying this is me after 3 months+ with no black shark flying at all because of immense workload. Didn't even bother plugging in the joystick or messing with FreeTrack and just thought, what the heck - I can fly this baby anyway... Actually turned out quite well but could hardly remember any of the procedures for start up or shut down (especially shut down, always crash before I get this far hehe :music_whistling:). Nothing fancy at all and I'd be amazed if there is actually someone interested in watching this. Short talk-through: I start the machine up, asking for proper permissions etc.. Take her to the runway Control hover (with keyboard! not very easy) Takeoff Fly for 1-2min and then land back on runway (semi-rough, still with keyboard u know=) taxi back to starting point First time ever I've flown with keyboard only; I really miss proper collective control keyboardflight.trk

I've done this to in "Gamestop" in Sweden ;)

TiR 4 Pro, Can't ZOOM Out at all...????
Boulund replied to Kilo_60's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
The reason you can't "zoom" farther back is because your ingame head (i.e. the pilots head) hits the headrest of the seat. Really why you can't zoom has been properly explained in post above this one; here there are 6 full degrees of freedom. Moving your head forward/backward just moves the ingame head forward/backward, no zooming involved — just like in real life =) I bet you can modify it so that it still alters your field-of-view when moving your head forward and backwards, but why loose the genuine 6DoF? Instead I opt that you map a set of keys or a slider or buttons on your joystick for that "zooming". -
New 3D model C-17 Globemaster III by precise3dmodeling.com
Boulund replied to Valery's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
A-mazing! Looks almost just like the real thing. AGES beyond the current model. (not to say that something with wings and windows isn't an improvement over the current model though..) -
Help me with the "Altitude Hold" - button
Boulund replied to Siinji's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I'd like to thank everyone that posted this interesting discussion in this thread, it really helped med come to terms with the collective brake in a new way. Thanks all! Especially AlphaOneSix for taking your time and making a solid post -
Hi If you are having problems moving your view around these are the options available to you: * You can change between moving your mouse marker (yellow crosshair) and moving the view with Left Alt + C. To get to the "bugged state" that most people enjoy, try pressing esc two times in a row - this should make it possible to move your mouse marker and view simultaneously. * There is also a way to move your in-game head using the keypad, but unfortunately I've forgotten the key commands for this. Until someone fills us in, I bet you can find it in the key list. * You can invest in some kind of head-tracking gear that allows you to move your REAL head and get corresponding head movement in the game. Most people do this by using something called TrackIR (shortened to "TIR") from Naturalpoint. I recommend that you check out their website to read more about it if you are unfamiliar with it. There are also two other options available if you want to do headtracking: FreeTrack and Cachya, sort of do-it-yourself (DIY) solutions. A link to naturalpoints website with information about TrackIR: http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/

You know you've been flying BS for too long when....
Boulund replied to LastRifleRound's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
this just happens to me every day =D lol -
what's with the rush? I bet you half the the community is still asleep in their time zone and the others probably haven't gotten home from work yet. Here's mine anyway: =)

If you are interesting in trying out linux without a "real" dualboot you can try to install it like any other windows application (with uninstall of course if you don't like it or feel ready for the plunge). This or download the free VMware Player and downloading a free Ubuntu "Virtual Appliance" (really a "computer image" with a preinstalled Ubuntu-version and all messy stuff already taken care of) to try it out in a very neat virtualization package. I'm actually currently Ubuntu (and other distributions) this way because it lets me use them for programming and other tasks that I just prefer doing on linux, without the hassle of dualbooting or messing around with partitions and all that.

How to use mouselook? And is there a free flight?
Boulund replied to Sherlock's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
it's a real shame people don't properly search the forums for these kinds of things before posting. There are numerous threads that discuss this exact matter. Remember people, the forums has been here for very long and if you ever have a problem/question that you'd like to post a thread about, someone else most likely beat you to it ;) That said, I thought I just make it clear that it is LEFT Alt + C that alternates viewmodes between "clickable" and "mouselook" -
Take a quick look at your small "ball" to see if you're side slipping. If your heli is improperly trimmed it can feel like you are standing still (relatively) but alas you are moving sideways without noticing.
-
tried remapping the key in the settings?
-
that's one of the things that led my thinking down this path ;) that and some thread I read about this very matter that pretty much confirmed that it only enables you to lock on to "live" objects in the game engine
-
I've a feeling that the game doesn't really simulate the target-tracking function of the Shkval system to a perfectly "real" behaviour. It feels as if the game doesn't at all lock with contrast but with something else...
-
That would be the bug that "probably" will make it into the next patch as a "feature" ;)
-
The "correct" way to handle this would be to press Left Alt + C to change between mouselook mode and mouse interaction mode
-
You can easily control the HMS with the mouse using mouselook. It's activated with LAlt + C. With LAlt+C you toggle between mouselook and being able to use the mouse for activating switches etc.
