Version 110 is up Changelog v110 - Soundscape has been expanded to include a bunch of new sounds for weapon firing events, you can toggle this on/off via the radio menu under Snowfox Sound Options, by default the new sounds are enabled. Edit: Should mention that the weapon firing sounds will not play every single time, each sound played for weapons will lockout any other weapon sounds for 7 seconds to avoid sounds playing over the top of each other. Also, I've tried to cover most weapon types but finding source material is providing to be a bit of a challenge, so anti-ship weapons don't have any sounds. Also if you find I have missed any particular missiles etc let me know. It's a work in progress. Edit 2: It looks like there may under certain conditions be an issue with Fleet Planes getting 'stuck' on the carrier deck if the mission is being run on a dedicated server. If you are running this on a dedicated server I would advise against running with the Fleet Planes enabled until I can work out what is going on, I might just have to change them and the Khasab Vipers back to air starts to avoid this but we'll see how it goes. -
Nice find! I wish it didn't have the background music though it would have been perfect :thumbup: Edit: Might be able to seperate the tracks if i'm lucky and remove the music. Will see how I go with it lol

Curiosity question ... Is there any interest in a Nevada map based mission? -
I'm having trouble working out how to distinguish between certain missile types via a script. If I have this: local ShotWeapon = EventData.weapon:getDesc() local ShotCategory = ShotWeapon.category local ShotMissileCategory = ShotWeapon.missileCategory local ShotMissileGuidanceType = ShotWeapon.guidance And then test for this: if ( ShotMissileCategory == 6 ) then --do stuff That will pick up Mavericks, Harms and oddly enough Harpoons. How can I then tell them apart? Also shouldn't Harpoon be classed as an Anti-Ship missile where ShotMissileCategory should equal 4 and not 6?

Sounds like a blast! Yes you will see the Fleet planes on the carrier deck, once you enable them they can take anywhere between 2.5-10 minutes before they start up. If you happen to be parked in front of Elevator 2 or 4 then that will delay them until you get out of the way. They generally spawn and move to catapults 2 and 3 for launch. I have found that the best place to re-arm is literally right in front of the island, that way you won't hinder any respawns etc (a replacement flight is spawned by the dispatcher when the first flight is coming back when fuel is getting low). Also the fleet planes and khasab vipers are set to silent so they don't spam the radio channel, they don't get push commands like the other call-ins do. One thing I have just realised is I've set the engagement radius for the Khasab Vipers and Fleet planes a bit too short. I'll tweak that and get an update out for it. But it might not be today, probably tomorrow. I only found this out when I was getting chased by some MiG-21's and I was out of sticks. The resident Tomcat's didn't quite react quick enough to them on my tail as I entered the Carrier's airspace. Tomcat's engaged and splashed the Migs 'after' they had watched me get toasted. Thanks for nothing Tomcats! -

Version 103 is up. Changelog v103 - Latest Moose Version added - Carrier deck decorative aircraft adjusted to allow for AI Tomcats/Hornets to launch hot from parking - Kutaisi Vipers will now start from the ground instead of in the air - Options under Clear Field Options -> Clear Field CAP options to allow for Kutaisi Vipers to spawn, and an option to choose for Fleet Defence Tomcats or Hornets (you can only choose one type of fleet defence at this point) - Carrier Group has been moved slightly to the North-East so it is a little closer to the coast and slightly closer to the front lines - Tanker Texaco/Shell flight paths moved slightly further north Enjoy :) -

Version 108 is up, and I think it's juicy. Changelog v108 - Latest Moose version added - Jask sector now has it's own CAP made up of Iranian planes - Carrier deck decorative aircraft adjusted to allow for AI Tomcats/Hornets to launch hot from parking - Khasab Vipers will now start from the ground instead of in the air - Options under Snowfox Options -> Snowfox CAP options to allow for Khasab Vipers to spawn, and an option to choose for Fleet Defence Tomcats or Hornets (you can only choose one type of fleet defence at this point) - Anti-Ship Viggens initial waypoint and initial orbit altitudes have been raised to avoid the Khasab mountains Note: If you enable the Fleet Defence planes, the carrier deck will be a busy place at times, but I'm liking how it's turning out so far. If performance becomes an issue (it was fine for me), I'd say either stick with using Hornets instead of Tomcats, or don't enable the Fleet Planes. I'll be making the same changes to Operation Clear Field over the next day or two. -

G'day Yes the Carrier Group is set to weapons hold otherwise they spam cruise missiles everywhere and ruin the fun. That said, there is a major update on the way that will add the option to have fleet defence planes launching from the Stennis (amongst a lot of other changes). I've been battling getting this working for a while but I think I've finally got it. Just got to play test it a bit and roll the same changes out for Operation Clear Field. Update should be out before the weekend. -

Basically yes for CAP just go shoot planes down. Remember a) you can call in AI to do whatever roles over whatever sector at any point to help out and b) you can ignore the missions entirely and go do whatever you like. The missions are not timed or anything and there is no failure states that will stop the mission etc. Sometimes I just jump in there to jam out some hot moves in the Tomcat or if I'm feeling really suicidal, I'll have a crack at it in the MiG-21Bis and see how long I can last. Other times I'll escort AI SEAD/CAS flights or whatever and focus missions. -

There are no specific air to air missions at this point, all the missions are ground targets. I do plan to expand on the red bomber attacks part, but for actual regular CAP related duties, I think it is unnecessary to add specific targets to attack. -

Do you remember which sector you had called anti-ship for when they crashed? I will investigate it. I wanted to keep them orbiting until a player was ready, incase they wanted to provide escort etc. I actually tried yesterday to put in a carrier defence pair of Tomcats but I had some performance issues on my 6 year old potato-computer. I will see what I can come up with. I will probably have to add it as another option under the CAP options menu to add a seperate squadron. Anyway I'll test the idea out next week. -

Changelog v102 - Clear Field Options menu, Skip Mission will allow you to put the selected mission back into the pool of available missions, and draw a new one from the deck - Due to requests, Kutaisi CAP flight of F-16's will no longer start by default - Clear Field Options menu, Clear Field CAP options will allow you to switch on the Kutaisi CAP flight of F-16's. Once you switch it on, it's on and cannot be switched off again - Various other fixes -

Same as Snowfox, this one has 100 target missions that it will randomly choose from. In my first design I had these groups late activated and some of the groups did fancy things. The problem with that was the map felt empty. So I changed it all around so that all the groups were active and my poor old potato machine couldn't handle it. So then I made it 100 target groups where none of the groups were moving around and performance seems to be ok. There are lots of things I would love to do but there is only so much you can pack in before performance goes downhill. i was considering adding 'special missions' after a certain amount of time has elapsed. I figure maybe after an hour or two enough regular groups will be dead that spawning late activated special missions might not blow up peoples machines. -

Ok cool yeah I was going to have heart attacks if the tankers were not showing up. Meanwhile attached is a map of the Russo-Georgian war which I have cleverly scrawled all over like a 5 year old to show you the border (the big orange scribbly line). If you fly over that orange line the Russians will come and try to intercept you. If you stay on your side of the border, then you should be ok 'mostly'. I am guessing you were flying near Lenetekhi or something by the sound of it, which would make you 'safe'. However, if you cross the border then cross back, it does not mean you are safe. The Moose AI A2A dispatcher does all that work. Hopefully that gives you a bit of an idea of what is going on in the background. I am considering making the border about 20km further into Georgia than the actual border so extend the Russians 'reach' just a little. I won't change anything until I get some more feedback on this one. Because of the layout, this one is more complicated than what Operation Snowfox was because the border in Snowfox was literally the international waters line between Oman/UAE and Iran. Edit: Also if you and some NZ guys are flying around in this hit me up sometime. I'm in Sydney. -
Late activated AWACS still showing as an available host

I'm not sure I understand, what exactly cannot be changed in the game? If I am in the F-14 I can tell Jester to select a datalink host. When I go to this on the radial menu both the activated E-3A and the non activated E-3A are selectable. Problem is if both planes are called the same thing, you have no way of knowing which one is active and which one is not. -
